Someone saved my life on WoW

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:59 AM PST

Couple days ago I had literally hit rock bottom (Got fired, my SO left me, my credit card got cut, and a shit ton other stuff). I was really hoping to talk to someone to tell them to call the cops and yadda yadda after I had gone through with my suicidal attempt, since I don't really have a support system IRL, so I made a fresh char on Moonguard - US and got invited into a guild. I asked if someone was available to talk, and told them I was in a really dark place. So this wonderful 16 Y/O guy (Almost half my age!) talked me through stuff, I ended up crying and postponing my suicide, at least until the day I was getting evicted (Had no money to pay the rent). So two days after that I got myself a job at a gelatto place, and feeling SO much better. Just wanted to tell everyone there's always someone out there, ready to help us out through a really dark time.

Edit: wow, this really blew up. All this kindness, and love and care has touched my very soul, and I'm forever grateful for the sheer amount of support I'm getting. The thing is, I don't think I'm an isolated case, and I'd like to make a group, discord, or something so people who are struggling can get some peer support, or just someone to hear them out. Nobody should struggle through life on their own, and we all deserve kindness and support.

Expect a Warcraft III related announcement soon

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:13 PM PST

TL;DR WC3 Esports players from around the world have been invited to Blizzard for a "secret" event.

There have been a lot of rumors about a Warcraft 3 announcement lately. So today, two Warcraft III players Happy and HawK (Russia) made an IRL stream from Serbia, where they went to apply for a US Visa (they claim it's faster there, means its urgent). You'll have to take my word for it, but these two have nothing to do in the US unless its WC3-related.

There were other players who confirmed they are going as well (Foggy from Ukraine, apparently Grubby implied it too and some 'oldschools' are seeking a US Visa). Everyone refuses to tell why they are going there.

Will be safe to say that it's not a tournament, since Happy refuses to play on most LAN tournaments. Plus, tournaments aren't usually kept secret. Blizzard has invited players to announcements in the past.

HawK saying the reason is 'secret' (Russian) - on HawKs VK page - inquisitivehawk. Can't post VK links on Reddit.

Edit: Russian article where Happy says that an announcement will be made at the end of this month in the US.

The origins of the Silithid

Something I think would make the artifact weapon sendoff much cooler.

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:12 AM PST

I think that when we finally say goodbye to the weapons, there should be a chance for a constellation of our weapon to appear in the sky, where the stars in the constellation are arranged in the way the traits are on our artifact table

So for example if you are a ret pally after you absorb the power of the sword in silithus with your weapon or whatever other sendoff we do with the ashbringer, we have a chance to see a constellation in the shape of This in the sky. (only the sword part, not the concordance thing in the corner)

It wouldnt have an effect on gameplay but it would just feel cool to see it once in a while as a reminder of what we accomplished in legion and has a slight more of a personal touch compared to seeing the seat of the pantheon in the sky.

Who else would like to see some relevance of Ji Firepaw or Lor'themar Theron in BFA?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:39 AM PST

They've both been pretty quiet since MoP. Who else is worth mentioning in hopes of relevance in BFA?

Suggestion: Tabard that gives XP bonuses based on # of 110 toons

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:11 PM PST

Many folks that have multiple 110 toons, especially once you hit the 5-10 alt range, feel leveling is tedious. Hell, half the userbase seems divded on the leveling speed of the latest patch, hence all the threads on the subject. But allow me to offer an alternative.

As someone else said, as good as the book is, once you've read through it 10 to 20 times, it loses some of it's charm. For the folks with multiple max-level alts, there should be a way for Blizzard to allow the leveling process to be faster.

So how about this? Create a tabard that you can buy for gold that gives XP bonus stacks based on how many 110 alts you have. Like 10% more XP for every 110 alt you have. That way, the veterans that have lots of 110 alts can equip said tabard to level faster and cut down on the grind, and those veterans with many alts that don't want the leveling speed to go faster, don't have to equip it. Win win for everyone.

Thoughts?
