Who do you consider to be the most memorable of the minor characters from the series? For me, its got to be this mf. Grossed me out so much when I was a kid.

I crocheted a bunch of Zelda themed finger puppets! (More info in the comments)

You can vote in a poll for most wanted unannounced franchises on /r/NintendoSwitch. Explanation below.

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 08:49 AM PST

First of all, last year's results are here.

This year's poll is here, and it's open for another week or so. The original thread (which has a list of all the franchises included in the poll, helpful if you want to look over all the options) is here.

Now, an explanation. I was not originally intending to cross-post this poll outside of /r/NintendoSwitch, until someone else did so on one of the other subreddits for a specific franchise and the poll started getting a large influx of votes for that series, skewing the results. The fairest way I could think to deal with this was to cross-post the poll on other gaming subs to flood out the vote brigading with lots of other votes, so here I am. :)

So, if you've got a bit of an interest in Switch, feel free to participate! My apologies to anyone who has technical issues (the poll runs a bit slow on mobile and Chrome, which seems weird given it's a Google Forms poll).

P.S. A HUGE thank you to the lovely mods of this subreddit for allowing me to post this here (I did make sure to check with them first).

Thought I'd share what happened to me today while fighting a White-Maned Lynel

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 10:56 PM PST

So last night I encountered a White-Maned Lynel in BotW. I spent a LONG time fighting it, and used nearly my entire food supply, until at one point I failed to get out of range of its "nuke" attack, which instantly killed me. I put it away and went to bed.

Today, I tried again. My second attempt went similarly to last night, ending in the exact same way as well.

I didn't expect my third try to go very well, even if I did end up defeating it. But I did have one extra trick up my sleeve: I remembered Stasis+, and how despite not being able to freeze a Lynel for very long, it could still really help. I had noticed before that if I use Urbosa's Fury on it, it gives me a chance to "mount" it, at which point I can get five attacks in, and using all three Urbosa's Fury charges on it for that purpose got its HP down a good deal. But this time, after I ran out of Urbosa's Fury, I used Stasis+ to freeze it. I noticed that right after it charges at me and misses, that's a good time to freeze it, and then I can get a whole bunch of attacks in—even after it unfreezes it still flinches a whole lot before it can attack me. So I did that. Eventually, I finally defeated it.

It was then that I realized I didn't remember using any healing items during the battle...and shortly after that I noticed my HP was at 10.75/11, which was exactly what I had before I started the battle.

Does anyone know how to get in here?

my bf came over for a week and is now addicted to botw

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 06:10 PM PST

So we're both on uni break right now and he's been staying with my dad and i for the past week, enjoying the break. He has been glued to the switch (cant say i blame him). I made him play on hard mode just for the lolz but after a couple of days he started over in normal mode, he got the hang of it pretty quickly. I kept facepalming and trying not intervene much whenever he would start climbing without letting his stamina wheel fill up or whenever he would miss something that was OBVIOUSLY a hidden korok. Anyhow, he seems to be enjoying it! Thought i'd share this because it's amusing to see hum so into it and not being able to keep his hands off the console for too long.
