This paragon player is having a load of fun, I smiled hard at this. Who else remembers playing ah puch the first time?

Looks like HiRez finally took my suggestion from 2 years ago!

Hi-Rez employees rarely respond to threads that are actually about quality of the game

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:03 PM PST

Countless Ullr balance threads. Server issues. Constant complaints about actual gameplay. None of them go answered. Even if they make their way to the top of the sub, they don't get answered. I really appreciate the connection stealth and others have with the community but sometimes it would be nice to actually get feedback about the stuff that actually matters to the game.

Please don't intentionally throw games because you died once

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 02:42 AM PST

I've lost count of how many conquest games in casuals I've had in the past few days, where people have stopped playing because they died once due to their own mistake within the first few minutes of the game.

Dying once is not a reason to intentionally throw the game. It's not a reason to rage quit. You can come back after the first five minutes of the game. I can't fathom why some players think a game is lost after one death. It's not the end of the world if you die once.

Has anyone else been noticing an increase in players rage quitting after dying once? I'm on PS4.

Types of SMITE players: Part II

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:21 AM PST

You guys asked for it! Well actually, one person asked for it, but I'm back to share a few more of the many types of players you will find on the Battleground of the Gods.

Link to Part I: https://www.reddit.com/r/Smite/comments/7thl2n/types_of_smite_players/

The Jouster: Jousters always come in threes. No more, no less. These are highly specialized players whose only goal is to curbstomp Silver Solo Queue-ers in Ranked Joust on their way to Masters. Their picks and bans are calculated to extreme precision. Every composition and build is optimized. Every ultimate combo executed to perfection. Their preparation gives them the ability to farm kills in the enemy fountain 8 minutes into the game instead of the standard 13 minutes. And if they lose to another pack of Jousters? Shudder They invade the casual queue, unleashing vicious Bacchus/He Bo/Ullr strats on innocent level 28 accounts. The Jouster is not to be messed with.

The Silver Ranked Jungler: Arrogance and delusion are the key traits of the Silver Ranked Jungler. Most likely a Mercury main, this player has no doubts that he is the best player on the Battleground. After falling 2 levels behind the enemy jungler within 3 minutes, he will die from invading their buffs by himself and getting collapsed on by 4 enemies. Then the BM begins. "Uninstall n00b", "Go back to arena", "no duo", "trash mid". He will gank repeatedly but miss all his abilities before stealing kills with his ultimate. Late game, he will dive 1v5 at Fire Giant looking for the penta and die. Defeat screen. Final stats? 8 kills, 11 deaths, 2 assists, and 8k player damage in a 36 minute game. Shout out to his %100 crit build with zero penetration.

The Kukulkan Main: He's got a level 30 account with 3k worshippers on Kukulkan, impressive! A veteran player of Farming Simulator, the Kukulkan Main is an expert at clearing the wave and double stacking. He only knows 1 VGS line, "I'm Building Stacks!", which is set to a macro. This player misses around %91.68 of his ultimates, and the ones that he hits land only land on full HP Guardians. Too bad he has no penetration in his build, either. At least the Kukulkan player always has top minion damage.

The Ullr Main That Only Plays With The Survivor Skin: These players aren't terribly common, but our encounters with them are memorable. This guy is a Rank X Ullr who only plays ADC, yet somehow has the most "unorthodox" (to put it kindly) builds for hunters. Once he hits level 2 in duo lane, he will jump in to the minion wave against a Sobek + Anhur looking for the HOT axe combo one-shot play. His Geb support will sacrifice his life to save his gung-ho carry but will pay a steep price for his good deeds. "WOW, YOU'RE GREAT!", "WOW, YOU'RE GREAT!", "WOW, YOU'RE GREAT!", "WOW, YOU'RE GREAT!". The VER spam will continue sporadically throughout the game, until it is mercifully ceased by the Defeat screen.

The Season 2 Glory Boy: Cloud9, Fnatic, TSM, EnVyUs. Those were the good 'ole days, when the BIG ORGS were in Smite, before LoRez drove them away. The Season 2 Glory Boy strongly believes that the game was in its most balanced state at this point (release Bellona, release Ah Puch, release Sol, release Chiron, release Xing Tian, release Khepri, release Ratatoskr, midseason Hel, and new Bluestone Pendant all say hi). He can be found on r/smite imposing these beliefs in "HiRez should be spending time on Balance instead of Skins" posts. Akin to the Season 1 Glory Boy he insists that Smite is dying but is much more zealous in this opinion and appears to have a strong love-hate relationship with the game.

The Support Main: Only plays Khepri. Uses lobster skin or ladybug skin. Builds full auras. Misses ult on dying teammate by hitting himself. Gets BM'ed. Goes 0/13/4 every game. Posts on r/smite about support mains being underappreciated.

The Ares Main: Some people just want to watch the world burn. Ares is one of them. A person who plays Ares is also one of them. The Ares Main only seeks the coveted Fab Four Score: earning Top Kills, Damage, Gold, and Mitigated for the game. Mystical Mail and Void Stone are default in his builds. Gem of Isolation is encouraged. Bolster Defenses is never leveled until his 1 and 3 are maxed. He laughs maniacally as he soloes the enemy mage with chains and flames. The Ares Main is normally found in Arena and Clash but avoids Conquest like the plague.

The Loki Main: Hears Loki go invisible, brief pause, hears Aimed Strike sound, panics, uses beads and aegis, hears Loki spam laugh macro, Loki ults you, You die, Loki spam taunt macro Need I say more? The Loki Main is the most reviled, hated, insulted, and oppressed player in Smite. There's a reason why clips of Loki missing his ult and dying are so popular on r/smite: because it's Loki missing his ult and dying. The Loki Main is a maverick, refusing to conform to the meta. Through his cunning and mastery of the god he terrorizes squishies without end and is capable of single-handedly carrying games. The Silver Ranked Jungler is happy when the enemy team locks in Loki in ranked, because Weak3n's tier list says Loki is a "trash god" The Silver Ranked Jungler can't comprehend the destruction that awaits his elo at the hands of Loki scum. Oh, the irony!

Fix Music-Themes before you continue to sell them!

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 12:55 PM PST

This is kinda my first rant about Hi-Rez I think the most people know about the issue with newer music-themes playing terrible loud music while nothing special happens in your games. I own 13 Music-Themes and i cant use around 6 or 8 of them because everyone which was released last year has this terrible bug, i think the first one was Racer-Apollo theme or victory vally. Its just annoying to play especially if i wear a headset. I have posted about this known issue around 8-10 months ago and still nothing happened to solve the problem since then. Its not nice to sell bugged content for gems/money...

I want to clear up some confusion about the Season Ticket Store

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:30 AM PST

Since I've seen many people ask whether purchasing a skin from the season ticket store affects your reward progress, I've decided to answer this question.

The answer to this question is no.

HiRez has stated the following during patch 5.1, a text section which can be easily overlooked:

Points Spent in the Fantasy Point Store will not reduce your current Season Ticket Progress. The Levels of the Season Ticket are tracked by your Total Earned Fantasy Points, rather than your current amount.

In other words, there are two separate FP counters: Your current FP counter, and your total FP counter. The counter you see in the season ticket store is the current FP counter. Your current FP is your total FP minus the amount of FP you've spent through purchasing skins like Ragnarok Fenrir, Titanium Ronin Susano, etc. Your total FP is is the counter you see whenever you go to the season ticket reward tracker (i.e. the page with all the rewards and the progress bar for the next reward at the bottom). The total FP is never affected by purchases from the Season Ticket store, which means you can never go back levels.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

After browsing this sub today, I really hope 5.2 is delayed on console.

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:11 PM PST

Between the adventure chests being busted, and now this issue with not being able to buy wards? I'd rather have 5.2 delayed than have to go through all this on PS4.

Nu Wa Fog Stealth

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 04:03 AM PST

I noticed that the stealth on Nu Wa's fog has maybe 1-2s delay when you break it to be stealthed again.

I know there was a recent post about Nu Wa being really lackluster and in need of a small buff, so maybe giving her fog the Discordia 3 treatment, in which going back to stealth is almost instant, could make Nu Wa a better utility mage.

Anyone else having issues with Morrigan ult?

I literally cannot activate the ability at all. The scroll menu comes up, and then I can't turn into anyone. The ability will not activate, anyone else having this issue?

5.2 Hotfix Notes #1

I feel like with this new conquest map, players should be allowed to have 3 wards at once

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 09:53 AM PST

I mean, people already, (well the people I play with) don't even get wards as is, so It will definitely help pick up the slack

10 Tips for Climbing Ranked Conquest S5

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:44 PM PST

If you follow these tips and try to keep them in mind during each game, you will drastically improve your gameplay and climb in ranked. Granted every game is a new challenge to overcome, you won't be playing at your best all the time. mistakes happen, but here we go:

  1. Eat healthy, get enough Sleep, and excersise or stretch before each game or session. a healthy body and mind is curcial for staying focused, making the right in-game decisions, and overall game enjoyment. DON'T play when titled or stressed out.

  2. Focus on yourself and how you can improve. You shouldn't care about others builds, god picks, etc. Focus on your own gameplay and try to not only recognize your mistakes but slowly fix them.

  3. Never Surrender. the likelyhood of the enemy having afk, troll, etc is the same as yours. you never know what kind of games you will win. some games are winnable, while others simply are not, and thats okay.

  4. Pick 2 gods to master for each role. The current god selection process is terrible and outdated, so we have to make due with what we have. Try learning easy to play gods, at least 2 for each role (maybe 3-4 for one role you seem to get the most) and focus on learning/maximizing their kits to the full potential.

  5. If someone is making you mad or stressing you out, then mute/block them in-game. We don't want any distractions!

  6. Plan out your gaming session. Make time for comfortable play and don't que up when you know something important will happen in next hour. I recommend lower rank players to play at least 3 games a day. Play Bo3 every day: Win 2 or lose 2, quit. No more or take a break for the next Bo3.

  7. Its okay to lose lane or play passivly/defense. you cant win all matchups. doesn't matter if you are 1-4 or 0-3 after 10 minutes, you are still useful to your team!

  8. Play your own game. Try not to copy proffesionals, because you might not be excecuting the strat or understand what they are really doing.

  9. Be kind to others and don't flame. it only makes the team or match worse.

  10. Have fun! its a game afterall.

There you have it. 10 useful tips that will help you improve. you follow all this or at least try to be mindful about it, you will climb the ranked ladder.

How many people did actually take the new Amaterasu skin?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:13 AM PST

In my 20-ish games since the patch, I've seen the DJ Ganesha in almost every game, often twice. While I've yet to see anyone pull out the new Maid Ama skin (even though I saw Ama in 7 games, always with other skins).
