PUBG Thank you.

Thank you.

Hello 500,000+ players,

An incredible milestone has landed; 500,000 subscribers. The whole team at /r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS wants to thank each and everyone one of you for subscribing and/or viewing. July 26 2016, the day we created this subreddit we had no vision for the future of the game or community, at most a place where ~100 people may subscribe and share the odd clip; I don't think we could've been any more wrong.

Over the past year, we have carefully built a strong moderation team and ethos surrounding the community in a way which satisfies as many users as possible and we believe we have done this to the best of our ability and hope you agree too.

A big thanks goes to those who've helped in the growth of /r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS, whether that be subscribers, past/current moderators, reddit staff, discord staff, individual community figures and everyone at PUBG Corp/Bluehole

A 500,000 subscriber giveaway is close to being revealed and details will be announced very soon.

This has been an incredible roller-coaster which still has many more surprises in store.

Thank you,

The Circle of Life

Had to say goodbye to one of my coworkers/friends today. Here’s his going away gift. One of two we have made so far.

The new weapon this patch is honestly overpowered.

Since the live servers are PING-based now. Can we have an option to show the player's ping to the server?

Posted: 23 Feb 2018 04:52 AM PST

The title is pretty much it.... would be useful to know the server's location and the ping

Thanks to PUBG, I now buy games on Steam with money exclusively made by selling the crates

Posted: 23 Feb 2018 03:54 AM PST

In just the last couple of months, I bought Divinity: Original Sin 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and preordered Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire with money I got just by selling PUBG crates which I accumulated while playing and enjoying PUBG. It's just blows my mind how inredible this game was for me. I know it still has shit load of problems but we can't deny the effect PUBG had on our lives and the gaming industry as a whole.

Here's to hoping Bluehole will continue to improve and grow the game.

I live in China and hackers are as bad as you think

Posted: 23 Feb 2018 01:55 AM PST

I'm an expat living in China and have been here for about 1.5 years. I bought pubg when it first came out along with my friends (in the US) and we've been playing it together ever since. Lag is minimal, surprisingly, considering our geographical differences. They usually play AS servers but I can go to NA too. Anyways, not the point.

I've watched the game explode in popularity here. I frequent internet cafes and electronic malls where you see advertisements everywhere for the game and its several knockoffs. Walk 2 feet in any direction and you can just watch over someone's shoulder as they play a match... and probably hack. Yup. Just straight up, wallhacking, aimbotting, speed-healing, etc. They don't care. There's no repercussions. They'll just make another cheap account and do it again. Chinese generally don't give a shit about breaking rules anyways. Any advantage, even cheating, is fair in their view.

I've got 500 hours in this game since day 1 and it's fucking awful right now. Bordering on unplayable. Even though core game has cleaned up so much, you'll run into hackers every 2-3 games (usually it's just aiming toggles but I've seen it all) and there's really no point in playing. Why devote your time, your interest, your patience, into a 45-minute match that's going to be cut short by a hacker?

Anyways... here's to hoping the devs find a real solution soon before the game's reputation is irrevocably fucked.

Known Issues - Updated 02/23/2018

Posted: 23 Feb 2018 08:11 AM PST

South Africans/Africans have been abandoned. Please help.

Posted: 22 Feb 2018 11:42 PM PST

Hi PUBG community

Since the release of the game the South African gaming community went bat-shit crazy for PUBG. We have always been disadvantaged with international gaming as a result of our geographical location, we kind of get used to it but its not fun for us nor the people vs us. Nothing we can do about it gents.

Currently we can get about 150ms-250ms on EU servers, depending on your internet connection (FTTH VS ADSL/VDSL)

With the announcement that they will start rolling out servers (if enough interest) a petition started doing the rounds: https://www.change.org/p/playerunknown-s-battlegrounds-pubg-south-african-server-request

Now me and my friends are about 8 players and none of them even knew about the petition. It is currently standing on 9750 signatures. Imagine how many more players we actually have that did not sign, and who live somewhere else in Africa (they are also in the same boat as us and will benefit greatly from a server).

CURRENT SITUATION AFTER NEW PATCH: Me and my friends played about 10 Squad games yesterday. The games were found quite easily but the quality of the games have atrocious. It is clear that most people on the servers we get placed on have high latency. Imagine having 100 players running around with all above 150ms or even more. No shots are registering. We have downloaded replay after replay to try and understand how we died or how that Kar-98 shot did not hit. Often the bullet goes right through the target or as experienced last night- full auto vector spray on a easy target - only hit the enemy twice. We often get damaged behind walls or when already proned. I understand that the enemies also struggle to hit lagging targets.

The new DBZ game was released recently and probably does not even have half of PUBG's playerbase but it already has a SA server......

I am currently ranked top 6% on EU FPP Squads. My top 10 percentage is somewhere close to 30-40%. I dont even play that much and I dont see myself as the ultimate gamer. We South Africans/Africans truly love this game but are unable to play to our fullest potential and often get hate/flamed because of our latency and get shed under the same light as chinese hackers/laggers.

Me and my friend played vs Spreezy in a game. We landed Pecado and could see him owning on the kill feed. We decided this is our time. This is our first real skill test. We hid in the Pecado gas station. My friend jumped around in the road to try and bait a shot (we are not stream snipers, we knew he was in the area and close too). He baited a shot and I fired a 4x Kar shot at Spreezy. The bullet went right through him and he did Spreezy thing's and swinged back at me and 1 tapped me and subsequently killed my partner. This IMO is not gaming. This is extremely frustrating especially for above average skilled players. Looting is slower, doors open slower, vaulting is slower, throwing nades is slower, getting in and out of vehicles are slower. Opening your inventory and equipping / reequipping items is slower. Moving scopes between guns is slower. Dropping heals/attachments for teammates is slower. Holding an angle with peakers advantage does not exist for us since the guy coming around the corner will be around the corner before we even see him on our screen and then still have to adjust our aim and shoot. Come on @playerunknown

Check this article form Redbull Gaming. https://www.redbull.com/za-en/is-pubg-the-next-big-thing-in-sa-esports and the PUBG forums https://forums.playbattlegrounds.com/topic/4890-new-server-locations/?page=38 If you CTRL+F South Africa on every page you should see the requests and no responses.

Now REDDIT. My friends, my comrades. We have tried tweeting @ pubg/pubg_help/blueballs/ etc to no success. We have threads on the forums with no response. We just want an answer. Yes/no/maybe?

We have CSGO official servers, we had DOTA 2 ranked servers, we have a LARGE and UNDERESTIMATED gaming community and its just growing by the day.

Please sign our petition if you support us! <3

Something has to be done. OR please let us know that there will not be any South African/African servers and we can then stop recommending the game to our friends and family, who will be wasting their money and sanity.

Thanks /rant

EDIT: Thanks for all the international support! This article shows how we have been ABANDONED by Bluehole and Playerunknown, as Africa is not even listed as a region. https://wccftech.com/bluehole-ping-based-matchmaking-live-faq/

EDIT #2: Please drop the Africa jokes, yes I have a pet lion, and yes he will eat you on my instruction so play nice!

Does anyone else REALLY miss rain maps?

Posted: 22 Feb 2018 10:47 PM PST

The rain sound/visibility-loss changed the game; I think we should bring it back.

Edit: so you guys just want the same setting game after game? Asking for snow or night is apparently too much for bluehole, so at least just turn the rain back on.

Is a mail slot on a second story balcony necessary?

Posted: 23 Feb 2018 10:42 AM PST

PC players, we just applied a hotfix to reduce the amount of crashes occurring when launching the game. Please restart your Steam client to download the update.

Why is nobody talking about the significant performance boost with the patch?

Posted: 22 Feb 2018 02:09 PM PST

There were 50+ posts complaining about performance when the patch first rolled out. After the quick hot fix went out, there is nobody talking about the performance gain. I am now getting double the FPS in the starter plane. On top of that, early game is much more responsive. From picking up loot to engagements, it feels great.

On top of all of that, it's amazing to see most of the names in the server are English names. This little patch could be one of their bests and it's not getting any proper recognition. Bravo Bluehole.
