My First Ever Legendary Raid!

So I know this is not a big deal for most of you, but I just have to get it out: I just attended my first legendary raid today. My gf her sister and I decided to go for an evening walk to catch some more Eevee and Growlithe, when we saw Rayquaza spawn in the arena next to us. So we stood there pondering what to do (we are lvl 29, 29 and 30) when somebody approached us, asking if we would do the raid. We explained our situation, not high level enough, no really strong attackers, etc. He was a lvl 40 and had his gf's phone with him. So we decided to go for it. It was our first raid of the day anyways, so no extra raid pass needed.

We set up our teams and it looks grim to begin with, I have barely 3 ice-type Pokemon and between my Lapras and 2 Cloyster I don't have much to show for. The raid starts and we start smashing on our smartphones, team after team gets wiped and - I have no idea if this strategy is correct, but instead of fighting with low CP mon I decide to rez and heal up my strongest fighters. The clock is ticking against us and we can feel it's gonna be a close one. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, a sliver of hp left, 5, 4, 3, 2, it's CP are decreasing. We did it. We beat the Rayquaza with 2 seconds left on the clock.

I have 11 balls to try and catch it. I throw, 5, 6, 7 great curveballs. I see the number of tries dwindeling down, my heart begins to sink. Only 2 tries left, I throw and miss. Only one try, my fingers are shaking. I throw and barely hit it. One wiggle, two wiggles, and a third. I got it, I caught a legendary. My first ever legendary. I still get shivers running down my spine thinking about it. Man I love Pokemon Go.

I know this is a common complaint, but the work required to get a raid party together for legendary pokemon is just outright ridiculous.

I have been trying for the last week to get a party together to go out and get rayquazza, and it has had no effect at all. My discord group has gone quiet lately, and not as many people are responding as they once did. It was already difficult to get people to go as it was, but now its just even worse.

If it werent so damn difficult to put raid partys together, id be out raiding a lot more then i currently am. Id probably put more money into the game buying passes. Niantic, please add an in game chat system for your next update. Without it, the games raid system just doesnt work.

How would you feel about having mini-events on a weekly basis?

I have to be honest, Gen III alone isn't grabbing my attention much. These recent mini-events, in conjunction with the release of shinies, are probably solely responsible for keeping me playing.

I think a weekly rollout of one shiny, together with a regular bonus, would be great for keeping the game engaging. I took the liberty to find a themed occasion for every week until June. Some are "best fit", given that March-May are some of the driest, holiday-wise, in the American calendar. Even then, a more creative invention would work just as fine (Adventure week, anyone?)

The Eevee-lutions are the great equalizer in this game.

There have been a ton of threads on here about the different ways in which people find themselves disadvantaged playing this game - rural people not getting as many stops and gyms, people without raid groups not getting the legendaries etc.

It just occurred to me as I evolved my 827 Eevee into a 2682 Espeon that the Eeveelutions are the most fair element of first tier Pokémon. They're not a regional exclusive, Eevee is fairly common (especially during events) and they don't take 100 candies at a clip to evolve. Plus with the ability to pick your evolution path (at least once anyway for Flareon Vaporeon Jolteon) you can choose which one you get.

A maxed out Vaporeon, Flareon, or Espeon is a pretty elite fighter.

My social anxiety makes me not want to go to the EX Raid...

I got an EX Raid invite for later today and I'm feeling anxious about going. I don't know anyone in my neighborhood who plays and I'm not a native speaker of the local language ( just a few words). I'm also older and I feel like anyone else there will be younger, like high school and middle school. Even this post feels silly, and I'm not sure why I'm even doing it, I guess I'm hoping that someone here has some encouraging wisdom.

I plan on hitting up every dragon I see, left and right. I may end up quite spent by the end of that 3h session. My balls will surely be drained dry. Anyone else think they may be in the same situation? Should I prepare myself ASAP? Does anyone have any pointers?

Gym constantly freezes app, very slow launch

Feeding with berry is now a systematic freeze for me, totally unusable. I can't do it anymore.

But sometimes simply clicking on a gym freezes the app.

Do you also have same issue? Playing on iphone6 with all updates.

Also, to make it worse, once the app is frozen, it is pretty hard even to kill the task! And to make it even worse, the app now takes forever to launch.

The stability and the overall UX of the game has become much worse recently. Very bad. It's taking way too much effort to use, i'm considering to abandon it.

Update: Hey! With the last update (1-2 days ago that i missed a bit earlier) it seems it is fixed now! I tried again a few times and no crash so far!
