Share guides and strategies that are valuable to a defensive Overwatch Hero or other tips and tricks that helped you to get better. | Posted: 17 Feb 2018 10:03 AM PST Hi. I'm OzoneOOO. I've written a long paper. The idea really came together when I started playing in a regular 6-stack. Overwatch really comes alive when you play with people you know and trust. It's truly an amazing experience. It's part Clan system, part Role Queue, and part Reporting system. The primary insight is that distribution of players into teams is a resource allocation problem. The secondary insight is that there is poor social memory among the player base. The thing is, I'm a bit uncomfortable with the whole notion of "Fan Content" as it generally seems that a lot of people put in a lot of work with zero chance of seeing the idea implemented. The reason I'm putting this idea out here is because it seems the Overwatch Team is stuck on a problem and has asked for brainstorming ideas. Specifically, they don't know why people aren't grouping up as noted in Jeff Kaplan's response to Effect's letter. I don't expect everyone to read the document in its entirety so I'm posting the Introduction and Table of Contents portion of the paper so that if it interests you (and there are probably a lot of you that will be interested) you can go on to read the entire thing or parts you're curious about. It's all in-game. It will not be easy. It may not be possible. It probably has issues that I'm missing entirely. It is something entirely different, though. I'd love to hear about any issues that I've missed or points that need clarification. Papa Jeff has already told us that we know the identity of this new character, saying he/she has already been hinted at. What we didn't know was that they actually told us the heroes identity without anyone noticing. Blizzard has timed the release of this hero to accompany the current event, but what we haven't realized is that this event is completely focused on hero 27. That's right, it's the Year of The Dog. Duane "The Dog" Chapman was born on February 2, 1953. If we take the sum of 1953 (18) and subtract his birth date (2) we're left with February 16, the first day of the Year of The Dog. Now that it's been confirmed, let's speculate on what abilities this bounty hunter will have. HP= 250 (50 hp, 200 leather armor) Primary fire= Backhand - Quick melee attack Alternate fire= Pepper Spray- Disrupts vision for duration of attack, allowing for fellow team members to take down the susp. Passive Ability= Jog- Runs at a moderate pace Passive Ability= Dog's Dogma- Damage to non-christian characters is doubled Passive Ability= Fighting Leathers- 10% damage buff when armor is at max Ability 1= Melanoma- Causes 1 damage per second for the entire round. Cooldown is reduced when standing outside Ability 2= Non-Lethal Force- Pins character for 3 seconds, able to use primary fire while character is pinned. Ultimate Ability= Want A Smoke, Brother? - Incapacitates all opposing team members in LOS. Duration is determined by individual player impact, more kills= more time. Thoughts? [link] [comments] | ||
