| Blizzard, please do a Blackwatch misson for the next Uprising. Posted: 22 Feb 2018 06:07 AM PST Hey guys! My favourite Overwatch event of the whole year is, without doubt, Uprising. Every year, April tends to be a pretty dead month in my life, but with the Uprising event I have a reason to be all giddy for the month of April (Thanks Overwatch!). I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but by having a series of conversion with other fans I realised (to my surprise) that the overwhelming majority of people regard Uprising to be their most anticipated event, for a number of reasons. Some said it was due to the heavy quantity of lore that surrounds it, some said it was simply because it was PvE, some said they loved the cosmetics, etc... Well, I'm also quite the lore addict and building on the "quest" of the previous event I believe that a Blackwatch mission would be both epic and totally within the lore. So, to recap a little bit for the more forgetful fans: Null Sector (Omnic terrorist group) has kidnapped a bunch of people, set up a bunch of anti-aircraft defense systems and is now occupying King's Row. Overwatch is explicitly forbidden to deploy agents by the British government but after the situation gets more aggravated over the course of days they deploy (subtly) anyway. Now the reason why the British government was so adamant about not wanting Overwatch to be deployed was in part due to the fact that, weeks prior to this Null Sector incident, the Japanese government issued a complaint against Overwatch because it believed that an undercover operation (stealthy, secret, black ops you know the drill) had been carried out on Japanese soil without the government knowledge or consent. Operation that we'll assume caused quite a lot of collateral damage. I believe that it should be this mission that we'd get to play in the next Uprising. Now whether the mission was sabotaged, or Blackwatch messed it up on their own leading up to the Japanese government issuing said complaint, we'll leave those lore details to MC and the narrative crew. But, I think that some aspects of this mission should provide a much clearer contrast with the King's Row mission. Blackwatch is mainly made up of anti-heroes, people of questionable backgrounds, so it makes no sense to have them dash in to save the day like Reinhardt and Tracer would do. So instead of an Escort-style mission, I'm proposing a Seek-and-Destroy mission. That's just my personal suggestion (tell me yours), but I think it would fit the Blackwatch organisation quite well. Furthermore, we already possess exactly 4 Blackwatch agents in the game (Mcree, Moira, Reyes and Genji) and although we don't have a proper Blackwatch tank yet, Reyes is the closest to a damage sponge we have but more importantly, the mission could be constructed in such a way that there would be no need to heavily rely on a tank. We have the Hanamura map which sets place in Japan and who knows, could even involve Hanzo's and Genji's old mob. To finish it off, thanks Overwatch and Blizzard for making such a cool story and I hope that we see more developments in the (sooner) future! Thanks!
