7.09: SUPPORT LIFE is made much easier

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:52 PM PST

I just played a support match after the 7.09 and it felt great.

The 50 gold courier was a godsend gift.

The initial +80 gold from bounties ( assuming your team gets two bounties). I got +120 :D

Flexible set of tangoes :)

LAST BUT NOT LEAST ---- STACKS :D Bonus 15% yes please. I think this will be both beneficial to the supports as well as the carries coz now supps will tend to stack more or atleast be more concious about it. Downside is ... some may do a triple or quadra stack without considering whether the carry can even clear it in that point of time.

How does tango pooling work in the new patch?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:31 PM PST

If I'm the midlaner where do I get my tangoes from? I'm thinking of a few options: 1. I buy my own tangoes 2. I get 1 tango from each of the supports totalling up to 2 tangoes for myself and 2 for the pos4 and 2 for the pos5 3. Kindly ask my pos5 to buy 2 sets of tangoes so he can afford to give me 2 leaving him with 4 so he does not miss out on regen. How should I be getting my pooled tangoes as a midlaner? Advice is appreciated, thanks!

Are Dotabuff and Opendota safe?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:26 PM PST

They both require you to login using your steam account info, it leads to the steam page but still, is it safe? Your account can't get stolen or compromised can it? Just wanted to be sure.

WD ulti: how to switch target safely?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:01 AM PST

I had the same problem many time when using the ulti of WD: if I try to switch target I tend to missclick (cask makes the target walk, stop, walk , stop) and WD will move and interrupt the ulti. Is there a configuration of keys that would allow me to switch to another target when I press the key on the opponents but to not move/interrupt if I missclick instead?

Wolves need no armor (2nd time using Lycan in an All Pick Match)

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:10 PM PST

Tried the Splitpush Lycan build in Turbo a lot of times, and I won those matches pretty easily.

https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3736395304

After that, I tried the build in an allpick match. We had a pretty nice comeback by pushing, but I think I still have some problems. Some of them that I noticed that I overextend (one time I overextended even when I saw a glimpse of pudge, im an idiot). I think I should've farmed more but I think my GPM was a little bit excusable because we were being stomped.

Thoughts? What should I improve on?

3-4 second delay in nightime after Night Stalker Ult is over

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:36 AM PST

In my most of the NS games, if I switch on the ult at 4n -40 seconds, then once the ult is over, the day time remains upto around 4n+4 seconds. For example: NS ult usage at 19:20- Day to Night, 20:00 - Night to Day 20:04 - Day to Night

Why is there this 3-4 second delay in nightime after Night Stalker Ult is over. Is this a bug or just an intended delay?

When do you actually want to stack?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:03 PM PST

My question is simply this, when do you actually want to stack? Early game? Mid game? 10 mins? 20 mins? What is the best time for you to actually stack? How long can you keep stacking before it falls out?

Broodmother Help

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:02 AM PST

So I have been trying to learn broodmother, but I keep hitting issues after the laning phase. Eventually the other team with get 3 or 4 people chasing after me, and will stay there for a while. With any other hero I would just tp and switch lanes but since I have limited web charges I can only commit to one lane; how do I take care of them?

Drums vs Armlet as a first item on DK?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 08:22 AM PST

I always thought of this way - if you're skilled enough at Armlet-toggling like most high-mmr/pro players then go for it since you can get insane survivability out of the item, but if not then its ok to go Drums/Blink/Shadow Blade first. However, nowadays I see Drums being a bit more common on DK even in high level games.

How are the two items different and how do I decide which one to make? Armlet obviously seems really strong with its active giving a big chunk of hp, armor and damage but Drums still gives me other equally useful things like movespeed, mana regen and an active +attack speed aura. So what all should be kept in mind if I have to choose between Drums and Armlet?

Struggling against Anti-Mage as a position 5.

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:59 AM PST

Hi,

I regularly play pos 5 support but whenever there is an Anti-Mage picked on the enemy team, I brace myself for lots of deaths. The hero is extremely annoying with its blink illusions and scepter bonus which makes extremely hard to counter it late game. I simply can't understand what to do when AM get moderately fat. Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

How to time invoker tornado+sunstrike combo?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:32 PM PST

I always struggle to find the right timing when the enemy is lifted by tornado and then precisely time the sunstrike so it casted on the enemy right after the enemy went down.

Is there any benefit to blocking creeps in the mid lane now?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:20 PM PST

I just had my 1st game on new patch, and I was mid SF. I left the rune to block my creeps but I realised that the two mid t1's are alot closer now, I blocked better than my opposite mid laner and in the end his creeps ended up under my tower aggro.

Crest or Orchid on clinkz

I've used both of them, and I know the pros and cons of both. But I'd figure I'd ask you guys. Personally I prefer Orchid for it's silence.

How to micro efficiently?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:39 AM PST

Around a week ago I randomed Arc Warden and got to play my third game ever on that hero. Even though I lost, it was really fun, but I felt like I didn't utilize the hero to his full extent.
I had 6 active items (actually 5 if I exclude aquila), so controlling both the hero and the double while efficiently using the items proved to be quite challenging.

I was assigning control groups on the fly, shift queuing attack commands, using items (like shiva's and mjollnir) and then shift queuing attack commands again. It felt like it took too much time, and sometimes I'd be doing it on the double while the main hero just stood still in the backlines.

So, can anyone share some tips on how to micro more efficiently?

What to do when 7 Slotted? Creative edges

Posted: 14 Feb 2018 10:00 PM PST

Heyo,

Thanks for the tips re tread switching last time. Happily working on conserving mana and regen at the moment.

The next issue Ive been running into in long games as Anti-Mage (but any character tips are just as good...) - what do I do with my gold when Im fully slotted?

Ill have something like Battlefury, Treads, Manta, aghs/linkens/bk ,butterfly, Abyssal.

Ill sell my Treads for BoT2, eat a moonshard, then Im at a bit of a loss.

I tried yelling at underslotted carries to ask for items. I guess I could just statt throwing moonshards at people?

In an old thread i saw somebody mention stashing battlefury for mkb and switch back to it when farming.

Are there any other creative uses of shitloads of gold for items i can rotate into or out of my stash?

I realise the game should have ended ages ago but hey, Im 500 mmr and a littleslow sometimes :)

Normal Skill vs High Skill matches

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 02:46 AM PST

So I am just looking at dotabuff and I notice that for Unranked All Pick there are Normal skill matches and High Skill/Very High skill matches. How does one get into the High Skill matches? Also is this reflective on the MMR that you will get if you calibrate for ranked?

How are some cosmetic items like Nyx assasin´s Cicatrix regalia having close to 2% winrate over the standard hero? What is giving them such a nice winrate? Are only pros playing with these? Or do they change something without our knowledge?
