Magma block/soul sand water mechanics should be inverted Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:30 AM PST So as we know with latest snapshot we can create bubble streams underwater by placing Magma Blocks and Soul Sand (first one creates a desending stream, second one an ascending one), this seems not consistent with the blocks to me tho. Magma Block: supposed to be a hot material, so logic would be that putting it under water it makes water hotter (letting it flow upwards). This is what happens in underwater vulcans too, with upwords water and bubble streams. Soul Sand: since is basically a sand block it should absorb water, creating a flux towards the block, not away from it. The principle of an upward stream is counter-intuitive, there's no reason why water should flow up or why you should get a speed boost (lauched up) by using 2 "slow" blocks (both water and Soul Sand slow the player usually). Lastly: i can see the idea of creating a trap using Magma Block and downward water stream to push the player vs the block and take dmg over time, but honestly that seems a poor and very unlikely idea to justify the concept. These are the reasons why i think that the water bubble mechanic should be reversed, and give more consistency to the game. Th for reading, if you agree upvote for visibility. Now that we're adding alternate block forms (Stripped Wood, Bark Blocks, Faceless Pumpkin)... Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:40 PM PST How about we re-add Crying Obsidian from that very old Beta version? And alongside it the also purely decorative Glowing Obsidian from those old pocket edition versions. Obviously some retexturing is in order but at the very least these blocks seem like they would be liked by map creators and who knows maybe we could find them somewhere or have them do something with Nether Portals. (PS bring back dirt slabs, you know you want them) [link] [comments] | ||
