Regardless of ability, from Bronze to GM, whether you have a team, a partial team, or want to sign up as a Free Agent, everyone is welcome. If you are interested just head on over to https://heroeslounge.gg and sign up. Last season over 170 participated, and we hope to make season 6 the biggest one yet! If your team has already competed in a previous season, just open up "Team Management" under your team page, and click the button for your participation. For those who might not know Heroes Lounge, or what we do, we are a league for anyone who wants to experience Heroes of the Storm in a competetive setting. If you don't have a full team, or are just an individual who wants to participate, we find a team of players for you that match your ability as best as possible. All of our teams are then seeded into 5 divisions in order to give everyone involved the best possible experience. Each week, each team is given a Bo3 match to play at a time that best suits you. This means that even the busiest schedules can have the chance to play. If you have never experienced Heroes of the Storm in a team based, competetive setting, I truly reccomend you give it a go. As /u/khaldor put it, its "Heroes of the Storm, the way its meant to be played". If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask, and feel free to head on over to our discord for discussions, nice people, and of course Endless. Sloth. Memes. Hope to see you there in Season 6! tl,dr:

| The report system is fundamentally broken, and it's having a serious negative effect on the game. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 11:06 AM PST So I just played two games in a row. In both matches, I was inexplicably matched with the same game ruiner. He over-extended, fed mercilessly, and talked vile trash to the team the entire time. He was reported by our entire team the first time, and then the second time. Why was I queued with this person? I performed very well in both matches (I had over 80% kill participation, only died once each time, and had massive healing numbers), whereas in both matches the other guy fed, did little damage, and talked trash. Why was I queued with him twice in a row? This is also not the first time something like this has happened. Multiple times, I have been queued with someone for a second or third time, someone who consistently ruins games. Over the months, I see them pop up over and over again, never silenced, never banned, always ruining games and getting mass reported for feeding. Why? How is this even vaguely possible? This is ruining the game for me....it's making it really hard to enjoy. There are no consequences for reporting, either for the person who reports (which ends up getting innocent people silenced, like Grubby), or, apparently, for the people reported. Overhaul your system, because it's nonsense like this that drove me (and others, even big names like Dunkey) away from League of Legends. Right now, the system seems to be there simply to make people feel better when they get queued with the same horrible person multiple times in a row. That, and to get people silenced for...well, for trying to communicate. Please overhaul this system and make it work, because it's ruining the game right now. There should never be a situation in which someone deliberately feeds multiple times to "punish" his teammates, and suffers zero consequences for it. There should never be a situation in which someone gets falsely silenced, but it happens far too often. Your attempts to create an automated system have completely failed. Hire some staff, pay them to oversee reports, and fix the system as a whole. DOTA 2 has it's issues, but the limiting of the number of available reports has improved the game so much, simply because Valve is able to actually check in on many of the reports, and most of them are very reasonable because people don't want to waste them. Please consider this. [link] [comments] | ||
| Why did Tyrande not get any compensation at all for losing stealth on Shadowstalk? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:01 PM PST Every other stealth hero in the game got something to compensate for the removal of stealth, shouldn't shadowstalk at least get a lower cd or some passive aa damage boost or something? This combined with the support nerfs really put her in an odd place. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Feb 2018 03:56 PM PST HL is simply fun. The level of competition is astounding, with the 8 kill assassin on my team (usually tracer) killing everyone else while we deep into a fort and destroy it. I was placed in Gold 5 and climbed to Gold 1 and there's just so many games with people on my team that have 8-10+ assists and carry the game. 95% of the Varians in my games will take taunt and colosus smash, even when I tell them to take twin blades to have a little fun. People always soak in the side lanes in the beginning and will frequently listen to my pings to side soak. It's just so wonderful. I like this game and have no problem winning if it's a great match or the other team played very well. But when my teammates dive 5v5, wait for 10 to fight into 10, soak like bosses, and then say nice things, I'm sorry but I just have to say that I LOVE HL. Does anyone else feel this way? Funny enough, I have a way worse time and experience in Quickmatch and to a lesser extent in Unranked. I don't know if it's because I have a lower MMR in QM that the overall quality of my games are worse (despite the team comps being a fiesta most of the time), or the fact that people are way more toxic. I just think ranked brings out the best in people, and It's very nice to play your best and have people in your team in HL carry constantly and give the enemy team the beating of their lives. The coordination and beauty of HL is simply unmatched! So im just gonna stick with HL and if I have some friends on TL, maybe also there. But never Quick Match/Unranked Draft game modes. QM/UD for me just isn't worth it. Good luck on your QM/UD games but you wont see me there! Long live Hero League. [link] [comments] | ||
| Please Blizzard, put an "I am ready" button before starting the match. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 12:25 AM PST I guess most of you guys knows what I mean, like LoL and Dota have. Sometimes finding a match may take longer and people leave their screens for doing other things etc. An "Ok, I am ready, take me to the draft screen" button would help to the game imo. This way, the number of missing bans and "a player have left the match" errors during draft phase would drastically reduce, if not preventing them completely. Edit: Fixed some context. Edit2: WoW also have the exact system when you queue for the Dungeons. For raids and bg's it works a little bit relaxed tough due to pool size/flex system. Edit3: I see one thing people agree on in this topic is "we should be returned to the front of the queue if someone dodges the draft screen". This can be a button or a system, does not matter (I still would not mind a button, but some people does) [link] [comments] | ||

| Could percentage of health damage have a different color? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 09:12 AM PST Right now it's purple, same as spell damage. Physical damage is orange, red on amplified. Spell damage is purple with white borders when amplified, healing is obviously green and shielding is white. But could percent health damage have a different color indicator? The reason I ask is because every time you auto attack someone with giant killer, you see spell damage popping up which is kind of odd on heroes that do almost no spell damage like Raynor or Artanis. Since percent health damage is also true damage(ignores armor), maybe it could be bright white? Or black with a white border or white with a black border to distinguish from shields. For those who don't know the interaction between armor and % health damage the current purple color could be quite confusing. Especially since in similar games armor reduces % health damage. | Appreciation for Blizzard's awareness of spoilers for HGC Posted: 05 Feb 2018 07:36 AM PST I just wanted to take a second to appreciate how much Blizzard has been paying attention to helping people avoid spoilers when watching their HGC VoDs on Twitch. They've been getting better as the season goes on, and at this point they:
Clearly it's still possible to spoil it for yourself by looking through video previews and such, but for people like me who like to avoid spoilers, it's made it super easy. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:37 AM PST HL is simply frustrating. The level of toxicity is astounding, with the 8 death assassin blaming everyone else for everything while he solo pushes deep into a fort. I was placed in Gold 1 and dropped to Gold 5 and there's just so many games with people that have 8-10+ deaths. 95% of the Varians will take twin blades, even when you tell him to take taunt or even colosus smash. People ignore the soak in the side lanes in the beginning and will frequently ignore my pings to side soak. I like this game and have no problem losing if it's a great match or the other team played very well. But when my teammates dive 1v5, fight pre-10 into 10, ignore soak, and then be toxic, I'm sorry im out. Funny enough, I have a way better time and experience in Quickmatch and to a lesser extenet in Unranked. I don't know if it's because I have a higher MMR in QM that the overall quality of my games are better (despite the team comps being a fiesta most of the time), or the fact that people are way less toxic. I just think ranked brings out the worst in people, and It's very disheartening to play your best only to have 2 people on your team die constantly and give the enemy team a huge xp lead. So im just gonna stick with QM, Unranked and if I have some friends on TL, I have way more fun in these game modes. HL for me just isn't worth it. Good luck on your HL climbs but you wont see me there! [link] [comments] | ||

| Shout out to Blizzard's flexible take on ults Posted: 05 Feb 2018 04:50 PM PST HotS has always been a game about questioning the norm and pushing the limits of the MOBA genre. Lately, I've been loving the direction they've taken in regards to what is considered a hero's "ultimate" ability. Usually, these are high-CD, high-impact abilities you receive around the mid-game. This is the way other MOBAs do it, this is the way HotS has done it. But lately, what would usually be considered an ult is being added baseline, and ults can now be abilities than round out a hero's kit in powerful ways. One of my favorites of these is D.Va. Realistically, she gets her ult at level 1. I think we can all agree that Self-Destruct is an ult-level ability. Compare this to taking Big Shot. Big Shot is a basic ability in every way that matters other than when you get it in the game. Even Bunny Hop, which is more on-par with other ults in the game, is more of a means of rounding out her kit than giving her an "ultimate". Other heroes kind of get two ultimates, like Ragnaros. His trait is ult-level. But he can also get Sulfuras Smash or Lava Wave. This is awesome and totally lends to his feeling of being a raid boss. Now we have heroes like Blaze and Alexstrasza, who also both have traits reminiscent of an ult. Some may look at this and think of it as power/complexity creep, but they manage to keep these heroes in line. It adds to them feeling close to their lore, and shows a flexibility on the designers' part that is what sets HotS apart from other MOBAs for me. [link] [comments] | ||
| I know quickplay isn't the place for completely balanced comps, but why is this possible? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 02:14 PM PST I played in this game yesterday. Usually when I pick assassin my team never gets a healer, but this game everyone on my team was a healer. That's 4 support players who could've improved 4 different games, but instead they were all put in one losing game. I don't understand how matchmaking works, this can't possibly be intended. | My Case for a Lunara Mini-rework Posted: 05 Feb 2018 11:38 AM PST I've played Lunara quite a bit since she was first released, and I really love her overall sustain damage and poke design. Right now, she is in a pretty balanced spot being neither to good or bad and has her place in certain matches where she won't be an easy target. However, with Lunara, I have always been bothered by her level 1 and 4 talent tiers. The reason being that these tiers seem to have little impact on how Lunara plays and also on her power-level in general. With Lunara, I don't get excited to pick a talent until level 7 and even then I could argue that her talents feel pretty meh. To make matters worse, her level 1 and 4 talents do not have a great pick diversity at all. According to hotlogs.com for HL pick rates we have: Level 1: Level 4: Nimble Wisp 75.4 % Timelost Wisp 8.4 % Skybound Wisp 11.0 % Dividing Wisp 5.3 % So Natural Perspective and Nimble Wisp are way outpicked. It is not surprising though since vision for aa's in bushes is not bad for a level one, and a wisp that can scout the enemy across the map in a few seconds is waaaaay more useful than anything else. My suggestion to even out to pickrates of these two tiers and make them feel like they have impact is to do a mini-rework where level 4 wisp talents are moved to level one, and level one talents are scraped completely and replaced with new and interesting level 4 talents. Sorry if this is a lot to read, but the paragraph above pretty much sums up my ideas along with the pick rate statistics from hotslogs.com. Also wtf is Abolish Magic doing at 20? Let's move that thing to somewhere else or make it worth our time. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Feb 2018 04:21 AM PST Raynor is a decent solo laner

| Current Situation of the HGC ANZ Preseason Qualifiers Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:14 AM PST The purpose of this post is to highlight to the community of the current poor situation the ANZ Hots scene is in and to hopefully in future allow the ANZ Hots region to receive more equitable judgement regarding the breaking of rules. The HGC ANZ Preseason Qualifiers is intended to discover the remaining 5 teams which will join Crimson/Nomia/Outlaws (previously NMD) in the ANZ HGC Premier Division which the top 2 teams will be awarded the opportunity to compete in the HGC Intercontinental Clash. This information can be found at
This dynamic tournament change in the ANZ scene has given hope and inspired many players as it has so far acted as a form of motivation for the region to improve as a whole. Furthermore this change in format which mimics the HGC systems in other regions acts as a sort of legitimacy & progression for players about the future of Hots in the Esports scene and its development in ANZ. However, currently the ANZ HGC Preseason is only halfway through its tournament and already rules have been broken without any fair justice. Specifically rules regarding roster swaps and poaching have been disregarded as teams have acted in their own best intentions Situation 1:
Specifically this violates the rules outlined here (http://www.gamestah.com/docs/HGC_ANZ_Rules_2018.pdf), which also do not delineate any form of banned skins or mounts further separating the ANZ Esports Scenes from other regions.
The current punishment that has been carried out is a deduction of 2 points from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse which in many people's opinion's will ultimately change nothing as most of the top teams currently in the tournament have already fought against Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. (http://www.gamestah.com/2018/02/05/hgc-anz-competitive-ruling-mm-clubhouse/) Therefore various teams and players have expressed their opinions that this response to such a serious issue is not fair for the situation and despite discussion with the admins of the tournament, no further action has been taken. Situation 2:
Consequently the community would naturally assume Outlaws should receive some sort of punishment for this action? Nope. Following a twitter announcement (http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqe4gl) no severe punishment from the admins was delegated despite violating the rule of "attempting to poach". In addition other players from Rich Gang have been asked by teams Outlaws and Salty Dogs Remastered after the tournament had already started - which breaches the poaching guidelines. Various players disagree with no such action against Outlaws being undertaken by the admins. Situation 3:
Hence the current ANZ HGC Preseason Qualifiers is largely in shambles. Overall this post is intended to highlight the lack of structure and continued underhanded actions performed in the ANZ region as rules are continually broken each tournament with no real punishment being delegated, and only having rulings "updated" for future tournaments. Hopefully these issues can be resolved now, however unlikely it may seem, as it may allow the ANZ Hots Esports Scene to develop and prosper in the future, although based on previous efforts made by admins with each tournament - no such action is ever made.
