Someone at school has locker 117, so I glued this on their door hoping they get it.

What's your favorite quote in all of HALO?

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 05:31 PM PST

Why I feel the Spartan Abilities do more harm than good in Halo 5. I try to remain as objective as possible in this video, I don’t say if they’re good or bad. I just try to bring up current issues with them.

Hello, John.

Which were the best levels of HALO 2?

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 04:50 PM PST

For me, personally, it was the Cairo Station and Earth Levels, followed by the Master Chief missions on Delta Halo.

They felt like very distilled 'HALO'; there was no real mystery as the focus of plot or game, it was you and the UNSC at war with the Covenant, going on the offensive.

And I absolutely loved the Urban combat of the New Mombasa missions.

If Halo's art style is returning to a classic aesthetic...

Can a lot of the old sound effects come back too?

Ever since Halo CE, I've grown attached to the sound of Halo and when I played H5, I was extremely disappointed to hear 90% of the sound effects were completely replaced. And I hated every single replacement.

I miss sounds like the no shields, shield recharge, Needler, Plasma Pistol, Plasma Rifle and Carbine and it hurts to see so many Halo fans calls these iconic sounds "bad" when these sounds have been around for so long and the fans flock immediately to the new sound effects because they're "higher quality"

Well that's just bizarre. These people care about the quality but not the sound itself? I bet if the quality was absolute garbage you'd beg for the old sounds just like I'm doing.

What I seem to tolerate is every new gun model should sound different which is why I don't have a gripe with the AR, BR or DMR, but changing the Plasma Rifle to that ear rape it is now is just wrong.

On top of bringing Halo back to familiar visuals and gameplay, can we just vote to bring Halo back to familiar sounds?

Side note: Whatever foul glitch is killing the H2 BR and CE Magnum sounds in Halo 5 should be found and destroyed for doing such a terrible thing to those iconic sounds.

If you haven't already, watch Halo Legends: Prototype

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 01:55 PM PST

One of the things I love about Halo is the infinitely discernible rhetoric, commentary and illustrations of the Man/Machine divide - not to mention giving the capacity to understand "Humanity" from any number of perspectives. I've watched most of the Halo Legends collection, and the short film Prototype especially caught me off guard for these exact reasons.

Plus, the lead is done by anime voice acting star David Matranga (Attack on Titan, Clannad) who does a phenomenal job at the most emotional portrayals. And the fight scenes easily met Halo standards of epic.

You can find the synopsis here, but I highly recommend watching it (it's on Netflix USA and DVD).

[Serious] Do you expect to see Halo this year at E3?

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 10:42 AM PST

Honestly I don't think we'll see Halo 6 this year. I think instead we'll see an ODST type game that uses the assets and multiplayer of Halo 5 (expanded of course, fingers crossed for spilt screen) and a standalone story.

Thoughts?

Regret LASO is way harder than Gravemind LASO

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 08:15 AM PST

I'm curious if anyone else has the same opinion considering gravemind is known to be the "hardest mission in all of Halo". It took me about 7 hours and two restarts to finish Regret so I fully expected to spend a whole day on gravemind. To my surprise though I was flying through it and managed to complete it in about 3 hours. There were only a few spots that had me frustrated while in Regret every encounter was hell. The black eye skull completely changes gravemind into a cake walk.

Why can't you choose the enemies in skirmish in Halo Wars 2?

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 11:41 PM PST

Just got the idea to play skirmish for the first time because I was bored. Apparently the enemy AI is always random. This is stupid, you could choose who you were against in the first game. I don't want to choose a UNSC character and fight against another UNSC leader. I know it sounds stupid, but I prefer for the fights to make sense.
