| Last night I played the DS Meta for the 1st time, and it's possibly the most fun I've had in years Posted: 05 Feb 2018 10:18 AM PST [POSSIBLE SPOILEES AHEAD] I hope this kind of post is welcome here, but I just had to say this. I've been playing Guild Wars 2 on and off for over 4 years and always sat in the casual category, but always wished to be a little more hard-core and dedicated. I disliked HoT but grew to love it eventually and very much enjoyed PoF. So, after starting and completing Sunrise in two weeks roughly a month ago, I wanted a true taste of building a legendary, something that will take me the better part of a year to do, so I resumed "Nevermore I" (I half started it some time ago) which requires you to run many of the HoT metas for the collection. The last item I needed was from completing the 2nd(?) part of the DS events, which I didn't know much about. In fact, all I knew was that the map opens under time limits, and when it's readying for the meta you should check LFG to get into a group running the meta. As an outsider, the idea of DS annoyed me because my schedule always meant I was missing it, and o was getting discouraged heavily. Until last night, when on a whim I joined a squad and was thrown straight in. I missed the first part and joined folks attacking the 3 champions of mordremoth and instantly ran in to help. At first we were short on people and our axemaster boss was kicking our asses, but gradually more people came in and we pushed straight through to the final part. Now it's worth mentioning that again, this was the first time I've ever fought the mouth of mordremoth. The sight that met my eyes was incredible... anyone who's played Metroid Prime may have felt some serious nostalgia as this colossal serpentine Dragon flows around this arena of floating platforms and begins tearing the place up. You really feel the terrifying presence of mordremoth straight off the bat, and many small objectives become apparent to help you survive-- salvaging supplies from crashed 'copters to use in bombing runs, simply getting the floating platforms to survive a barrage of attacks, fighting off champions... the whole fight can only be described as epic. And then finally to top it all off, when you get the behemoth's health down to 0%, that cutscene plays and if it's your first time, you'll think you failed. But all ends well and the Dragon is defeated, opening up the updraft to access the chest at the end. I know there are definitely people who disagree with me here, but I thoroughly enjoyed this event chain and felt positively overwhelmed once the battle truly began. It brought me back some memories of the bosses you face in the likes of Metroid Prime, Dark Souls, hell even Shadow of the Colossus to some level. I did of course grab my map completion straight after as well, so I'm only missing Gift of the Chak now, but good Lord was that an intense battle. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Feb 2018 09:09 AM PST Every year, I try to host a birthday party in GW2 at The Last Whiskey Bar [&BPkBAAA=] in Blazeridge Steppes. It's mostly just goofy fun; setting up a Guild Banquet and fireworks and just hanging out. Some years I'm able to do more than others; this year was a little last minute but I'm trying anyway! The party will be drop in, drop out, from 6:00 PM EST (one hour before reset) to 10:00 PM EST. Feel free to duck out for whatever metas you need to do :) I myself will likely take a break for dinner around 7:30 or 8. edit My username is TealDeer.4217, and my character name is Seshat Truthspeaker. Edit2 Thank you all SO MUCH for coming :) I'm ending the party a LITTLE early (8 PM EST) but y'all can keep it rolling if you like! I was really amazed by the turnout this year, it was great! | Lena Raine about her Guild Wars 2 work Posted: 05 Feb 2018 10:46 AM PST This site just published an interview of Lena Raine, who did an amazing work on gw2 as a game designer and a composer about her recent OST one Celeste. And a question was about Guild Wars 2.
The whole interview is really interesting, and you should check it out :) Also, does "I'm extremely interested in working on more things with my friends at ArenaNet" means that she will come back ? [link] [comments]

| With the Dhuum fight, this is the first time I can't play a role in a fight. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 02:57 PM PST For a while now, we've had encounters that had these small moving orbs mechanics where latency makes life difficult. For example, the orbs at KC and Xera and the bullet hell in the nightmare fractal. Having about 200ms latency makes dealing with these mechanics a bit of a pain since they are handled server side and collision checks are not continuous, but not being able to do them properly is a minor inconvenience and not too deadly; however if you are doing greens at dhuum it's a death sentence. I see that even with ppl who have good connections that there is a relatively huge delay between hitting the orbs and it actually counting. The visual feedback is just terrible. I've been able to manage sometimes by staying still as the orb passes through me, but you can't always afford to stay still if you get bad RNG or my prediction that "this orb actually hit me so I should move on to the next orb" is wrong which usually leads to me dying. I don't want to burden my group with that so I typically end up taking a different role like kiting/dps/tank, but sometimes we just don't have enough people who want to green. This kind of artificial difficulty is really putting me off the fight. How do people deal with this? /u/anet_ben is there any chance we can avoid laggy server side collision checks like these in the future? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:37 PM PST We Would Love More Trainers!
Hello everyone once again, Swifty here!
It's been a while since Raiders in Training updated with the Reddit community, so I wanted to let you all know we're still going strong and training all raid wings for players of all experience levels!
We're currently around 1,200 total members, of which 750 are highly active members with the "Trainee" or "Wing 5 Trainee" role, so we're starting to feel the pull for additional trainers once more to keep up with the high volume of demand!
We're especially interested in anyone who feels confident in training Dhuum, as he is of particularly high need with our community at this time.
What Do We Look For From Trainers?
We accept trainers of any experience level, with the only caveat being "only train things you can personally clear easily each week" and "please try to train at least a minimum of two raid bosses each week." You have access to a specific channel to talk with other Trainers to get advice or assistance on your runs, and we also have some guides and resources available if you wish to use them.
Additionally, we have sign up documents if you prefer to have your raids planned in advance, or you can scramble people adhoc as you have time by pinging the Trainee or Wing 5 Trainee roles!
As a reminder, we do not enforce the META professions to be used, but Trainers do reserve the right to set some reasonable limitations based on the bosses being trained. (E.G. please don't bring a condition damage build to Keep Construct) We give our trainers a lot of autonomy to run their training runs as they see fit, as long as it fits within our overall rules of being respectful toward your fellow raiders and focusing on helping players improve.
Conclusion: Join and help smash some bosses!
We still have our very chill, laid back atmosphere and allow members to train on any boss in any order, with again a small caveat of trainers have the option of requiring some prior raiding experience before bringing members to Wing 5 (mainly because we don't want to set people up for failure by tossing them in the deep-end before they've cut their teeth on the easier content). If this environment seems like a fit for you as a Trainer or Trainee, please feel free to give us a try by clicking the link below!
If you are interested in applying to be a Trainer, please PM me on Reddit or in Discord and I'll hook you up with the application!
For everyone else interested in joining the community to learn some bosses, have some fun, and work towards your Legendary Gear (which is totally a realistic goal, only took me 3.5 months when I started!), please click the link and follow our rules on the Please Read Me page to get started to receive your Trainee tag to unlock all the channels!
(PS: Experienced and Semi-Experienced players can submit two Raidar logs in a Private Message or on the Council Requests channel to get appropriately attributed for the bosses you are already experienced with!) [link] [comments]

| [SC] Arah p2 solo 14:35 [restricted] Posted: 05 Feb 2018 08:11 AM PST Hello, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG-kRjb1dDM A run that I had the idea to make since a long time, but I only started spending time on it yesterday. This is a restricted run, so that's why I didn't used Executioner Axe, stacked bloodlust prior to starting the timer and so on, I also wanted to do while banning things I don't like such as CC consumables. i know the video freezes twice, but that's my shadow play that messed up, sorry for that. | Drakin Cinderspire event woefully broken. Posted: 05 Feb 2018 06:14 AM PST A guildie and I decided to make The Hunter for our new holosmiths. We cannot complete The Predator III: The Hunter because Cinderspire remains determined (the bar never fills, regardless of how many Embers you kill) and he just stands around and continues to spawn his Embers. I did see a post on the forums about this very issue from back in October - I had hoped it was something that was addressed a few months back, but it seems like it may be an ongoing issue? It's the one thing holding us back from precursor completion, and it's been like this for at least the past two days. Anet, please help! [link] [comments] | ||

| Farming dyes? Best way of doing so? Posted: 05 Feb 2018 05:58 PM PST Just wondering what the most efficient way of farming unidentified dyes, or is it better to just buy the individual ones I want from the trading post? Mostly wondering because some of them are going up to 60 gold and higher, with some reaching the 200 gold range. [link] [comments] | ||
| Update on where Guild Wars took me Posted: 04 Feb 2018 10:18 PM PST Three years ago my daughter posted it was my birthday, and of course how old I was, I had just started Guild Wars 2. Original post https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2ugvvy/kind_citizens_of_tyria_please_assist_me_in_giving/ today is my birthday again and older, but for any that remember thought I would update how I never forgot the posts of well wishes and the party we had in DR. Three years later I have met the best people in this game and have joined a wonderful guild. Today again I met some that helped me with Aetherblade JP--so much torture! as I am working on my 3rd and 4th legendary weapon. Made Kudzu, Nevermore and now Sunrise and Twilight--to make Eternity. I have come a long way and I thank my daughter for her help and thoughtfulness to introduce me to this game. I also got my sister to play who is 10 years older them me and she loves it! Great game, great community for all ages! [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 05 Feb 2018 12:08 PM PST Title; I used to have an album saved on imgur of custom gw2 art jokes, basically other memes and shit with Logan and Rytlock painted over them. I didnt make any of them, but the album has gone poof and my google-fu seems to be failing me. Anyone know what im talking about and have a backup? [link] [comments]

| Posted: 04 Feb 2018 09:23 PM PST I think we might be looking at henchmen/heroes! I know a lot of the community is against this (the whole single player/MMO thing) but if introduced correctly this might still work. Think about this, if you could use 1 of your alts as a henchman to your main, it would be so much fun. This could be limited to the XPac areas, so that it won't unbalance core Tyria. Discuss!
