"At the Dota101 Collegiate Open LAN event at RIT on April 13 2013, GoDz had his two egg McMuffin sandwiches stolen by EternaLEnVy who was was co-casting the event with him. Upon realizing this, GoDz challenged EternaLEnVy to a 1v1 solo mid match where GoDz played Death Prophet and EternaLEnVy played Ursa. If GoDz won, EternaLEnVy would have to buy GoDz two new McMuffin sandwiches. If EternaLEnVy won, he did not have to repay him. GoDz ended up winning the match, but EternaLEnVy has yet to fulfill his promises."

ESL Katowice experience

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 07:41 AM PST

Let's kick off with little background information. 27-year old finn who has played dota2/dota since 2006. Went to Katowice ESL with my girlfriend who more or less forced me to go. Previously I have never intended to go to Dota2 Lan events even though I have enjoyed watching them on Twitch and now Facebook. Had premium tickets

Spodek Arena
Incredibly good venue for Dota2 Major with good amount of space. Can't find anything bad to say about the location. 5/5 would go again.

Premium ticket

This is something I'm quite disappointed with. The goodie bag was nice and all but at least I felt that there was nothing else to gain from the premium ticket. The early entrance didn't help me in any shape or form. The premium seats would have been great, but the seats were in a weird angle, so that your torso faced left and the screen was on the right. At least my neck started to break after Day 1.

I felt that the premium signing sessions were pointless since even if you had a premium ticket there was a chance that you would not get a signature at all if the team in question was popular. It would have made sense if premium ticket holders had a queue of their own to each signing session. I queued 1h15mins for Liquids signing session and still was not able to get them due to the sheer number of free visitors in the queue. To make it more annoying, after the security guard cut the line, we walked off and I glanced back and saw people just going under the red tape and the guard just stood there and stared them, and then walked away. And while we walked past the players it was kinda obvious why the queues were horrible... people were getting multiple autographs + taking selfies with each player. 2/5

Booths

You were able to buy something to eat and drink every 10 meters or so which was pleasant. I felt that the ESL shops were lacking products and I would have liked to see one YUGE ESL store in Spodek instead of 2-3 smaller one which were there. The problem I faced was that there was only one shirt (Jersey, which I and my gf bought :D) from Liquid for example and 5-6 from NaVi. Now, I get that NaVi/VP might be big in the region, but it should have not been impossible to get more shirts and bigger variety of products there.

Big thumps up for Game Legends booth! Got an alchemist's hat. 2.5/5

Staff

Staff was super friendly and was able to do everything in English, so nothing to complain. 5/5

In general I'm pleased with the tournament and I'm already itching to go to the next one. The games were great, casters were great and analysts were awesome!

Overall score 3.5/5

Reminder: The bug where hovering over an enemy ability you know if was skilled was fixed, yet, MK arcana does the exact same thing and valve does nothing about it

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 06:31 AM PST

For the people who don't know, you use to be able to hover an enemy ability, and see if it was leveled up

It was fixed becouse miracle did a cool play with that "feature" by bating the enemy

Currently, MK arcana does the same thing, if you level your ultimate it will change the color of the arcana

2 sugestions:

1) Let us chosse the color of the arcana (best option)

2) The arcana only changes color after the first time you use your ultimate (Lame option)

EDIT: u/frid4y is right, it's way easier to make it change according to the level

Behavior Score F

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 01:01 AM PST

Just going to make this short and sweet. Ancient 0. Australia.

Had NBN(National Broadband Network) installed at my house. Already had a pretty questionable Behavior score of C+.

2 abandons later due to internet dropping out and I have F.

Am aware this is 100% my fault.

However - now I cannot find a game. 49 minutes + in ranked queue. 30+ in normal queue before I give up.

How do I improve my behavior score if I can't even find a game?

Skulz's Competitive Hero Tier List February 2018

Anyone else had this weird Incredible Hulk bug?

I Need No Introduction is back as a roamer

Posted: 27 Feb 2018 03:24 AM PST

Since it's hard to convince people to help doing things they never seen be done by Pro Dota in 6k (#RoamingAM) Pubgames I went away from Magina for a bit.

In my journey to find my hero to roam with that I can achieve greatness but isnt Meta. I stumbled across Wukong, i didnt want to play him since everyone usally said he s not worth my time but i couldnt ignore those cute eyes asking to be picked. So i did what has to be done and went roaming Mk after a long while.

And that Boi defenetly delivered

The strenght i've gained from playing roaming Am/Jugg/Ta/Troll (and other weeb heroes) really helped to make that Moe Boi shine. And he shines in a new light to me.

START: So to keep it short the build and strenght of Mk are:all components for wand(appart from stick) + OoV + Tangas.

SKILL BUILD: usally 2 - 3 - 1 - 0 at lvl 6 and lvl 1 Jingu. Ult usally at lvl 8-9

Core ITEMS: Phase Wand Urn/Vessle is a must and then highly recommended is Meme Hammer before or after Vessle. Everything else is a luxory item.

GAMEPLAY: You go out as courier if Rng blesses you with a quick Mischief and scout for enemy wards or a possible kill by placing a unseen ward and turn into a tree.

Fight for the rune if anyone is willing to help and the enemy have less than 2 Stuns/hard nukes. And then do Monkey things run arround and zone where it's needed. If no kills are possible staying mid and help denying and zoning is usally the best you can do if there are no killable supports running arround the map alone.

And then later you farm with primal if noone needs your help otherwise just lead ganks or stay behind possible gankable teammates to give a solid advantage. As soon as you get meme hammer your fighting and pushing/farming power is greatly increased you can safely push waves from trees and keep your stun as a defensive tool and inside your ult it's hard to see what the real Mk is doing so it's easy to hit your Hammer on fighting heroes.

Overall this guide experience is long enough and I am convinced that Mk is the one true roamer for me. I am sorry Magina but Waifu Wukong is here to replace you till further roaming buffs to Magina.

Thanks for reading and I hope this here is somewhat helpfull for anyone (never really structure my stuff understandable or intended so i hope those thoughts do smth atleast lul)

Edit: my CONCLUSION: In my games I had alot of positive experiences with roaming Mk so far and I highly enjoy it. Others than all those Meta heroes that everyone in high bracket think are the only ones goos on pos 4.

The Hero is weeb enough to replace Am and is strong enough to beat any Meta heroes. Downside is any misstake is getting punished hard but thats what i like about the hero. The less viable the more my type of hero.

Can we get a stickied "best games of _____" post after each big tournament?

Posted: 26 Feb 2018 02:32 PM PST

I would love this feature as I don't have time to watch all the games and oftentimes I'm unable to watch live. So rather than just check the final scores etc, it would be cool to have a post in this sub which listed the top 3-5 matches from the tourney.

Maybe we could have it be a vote by the community after each tourney. Thoughts?
