I was at NW Airfield looting. Low pop server (aren't they all lately?) and I neither hear or see any evidence of anyone. I'm stopping every so often in trees, peeking around. You know, the usual. I get all the way around starting from the SW barracks to the 5 hangars through the tents around the north. Still no sign of anyone, but no loot except for clothing. There's a zombie right inside the opening of the first hangar beside the firehouse. I get to the corner, raise my axe, and wait for his back to be turned. He's about 50 feet from me. His back finally turns, and I take one step towards him.

CRACK.

One solitary gunshot, and the zombie drops. Due to his positioning inside the hangar opening, the guy HAD to have seen me. I nope right the fuck outta there. Go behind the hangars, past the two barracks, and hide in the trees on the southeast side. I use the hunting scope mounted on my Sporter and scan the whole area. Nothing.

Well played, random person. You fucked with me hardcore.

I really wish people would still go there as much as they used to, there's obviously less incentive nowadays, but I've found that if you spawn at Elektro and make a dash for Cherno, and then every town past there, you'll find endless amounts of pistols, sporters, trumpets etc. and if you feel like going all the way to Kamenka, I've found a ton of Mosins and blazes there.

there's also the military base at the western most coast of the map, super worth going there if you feel like using up some time

Dayz alternative?

I want to know if there is a more popular alternative to dayz. I have played ark and it is lacking, Rust has good building survival and pvp but the overall ability to play alone and have weird adventures and trips just isn't there like in dayz. So with the farming elements and whatnot dayz standalone was kinda ruined for me and the mod has far less player. They are both dead.
