Self Post Sundays! - January 14, 2018

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:09 PM PST

To foster more discussion about the games every Sunday we turn the subreddit into self-post only mode.

Self-Post Sundays are our main discussion day. On those days we only allow text posts directly about the games themselves.

Please save your images, fan art, screenshots, videos, etc to the other days of the week. Use this day to discuss the games. Other posts will be removed.

Friend told me to choose my favorite Zelda game. I told him OoT and I received this a week later.

It's been one hell of a journey, but this is it, this ends now.

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:19 AM PST

After more than a 100 hours, countless of shrines, thousands of kilometers, hundreds of enemies defeated, getting the best equipment... the time has come to put an end to this, to save Hyrule and princess Zelda.

I'm just outside of Calamity Ganon and i think it's time to finish this, it's been one hell of a journey, and what a journey it has been, but everything must come to en end. I don't know, but i really feel like I'm reliving my journey, all those small stories...

Been playing games since the NES, but i never felt anything like this before, first game that make me feel that the journey is part of it and not just tackled on, you can see Link struggling to get a hold in this new world and that he needs to be fully prepared before he goes and finish this once and for all.

it's been a pleasure, and I'm kinda sad it's about to end, but like they said "Don't be sad because it's over, smile because it happened."

Best game I've ever played.

I found a minor clothing interaction in BOTW!

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 12:20 AM PST

I was still wearing my Gerudo set when I was strolling around, and happened to run into this guy named Quince at the Wetland Stables. He started coming on to me, about to say I was gorgeous or something, then said "-oh. You're a hylian. That might fool a Gerudo, but not a hylian such as myself"

That's paraphrased to heck, I just think it's cool that he reacted differently based on my clothes. It's so cool.

Just finished Champaign’s Ballad and...

Why is it so damn sad? The ending almost brought a tear to my eye. Nintendo, I know y'all said no more DLC, but COME ON we need a post game! Or a direct sequel. As simple as Breath of the Wild's (and DLC's) Story is, I'm in love with it and I'm desperate to see what happens next!

How many teams worked on Skyward Sword or was it one unified team?

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:35 AM PST

I've always had the distinct impression, either because I read it implied in an interview or because things just FELT this way, that each of the three areas in Skyward Sword were developed by a different team. Lanayru Desert is just such a creative area compared to the other two, that the possibility seems quite real to me. It would also explain why the game doesn't feel as cohesive as it should have.

BoTW animation (No bamboozles)

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:23 AM PST

After playing BoTW recently and being absolutely in love with it I've decided that I'm going to be making a BoTW animation series (non profit). It's probably going to be leaning more toward the TV-MA rating but it won't be too over the top. I'm thinking the animation will be done in a kind of Makato Shinkai/Naoki Tate style of animation but I'll probably draw it so 60 frames=1 second for clear and smooth animation. Each episode will more than likely be around 10 minutes. If you're interested in being involved you can find me on:

Discord - Ashen_Chef#6364 Or Skype - Ashen_Chef

I will answer any questions and/or comments posted here or sent to me.

I just finished Breath of the Wild for the first time.

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 09:35 PM PST

Honestly, I'm a little sad that the journey is over. The game instilled in me a sense of adventure that I hadn't felt since the first few days I played Skyrim back when I was a freshman in high school, but this feeling lasted weeks instead of days. I'd always been a massive Zelda fan, but no Zelda game had been my favorite game of all time, until now.

I've played games that have made me cry before, but never before have I cried because I had finished a game.

What do you think about the lack of partner in BotW?

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 04:50 AM PST

Personally I miss characters like Midna, Fi or Navi , they make me feel the evolution of Link on his journey. I didn´t feel that "evolution" during the game.

A starter that is lost in the gamelist and needs help

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:44 AM PST

Hello! I really want to start with the Zelda series, but I don't know where. I looked up the wiki and there are so many remakes and ports (or VC). What games should I play in what order? I've got a 3DS with a DS flashcard, a hacked Wii and a pc (for open emu or something simular). I can play all, apart from BOTW, where should I start in what version and what order? I would really appreciate the help, I really want to start with the series!

What if there was a Zelda game that was about the following?

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 05:05 AM PST

Deconstructs and challenges the entire franchise by going against all our expectations a la "The Last Jedi". contradicting and Undermining every established theme, idea and concept that makes The Legend of Zelda, what it is. Making Zelda, un-Zelda, just to be unique.
