This PKGO community day could have been the best way to replace the EX Raid system

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 10:55 AM PST

Wouldn't you guys prefer the EX Raid system to be replaced with this concept of community day that has been introduced??

Imagine you can only get Mewtwo and other EX pokemons ONLY on a single day of the month, at specified hours of such day??

To me this seems as the most adequate and FAIR alternative ever proposed.

What do you guys think?

Becoming increasingly suspicious that Niantic's bizarre selection process for Ex-Raid Passes purposely avoids active raiders [Discussion]

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 12:22 PM PST

I mean, think about it. I know that in my local group there are more than a few players who intend to (mostly) quit once they finally get Mewtwo. And I'm willing to bet that that is hardly an isolated phenomenon. As such, I'm beginning to suspect that Niantic is playing a nasty little game of chase the carrot.

I mean, Niantic makes most of it's current revenue from raid passes, and therefore makes the most revenue off of the most active raiders. And many of the most active raiders are individuals still trying to earn that elusive Ex-Pass. So exactly what incentive as a business does Niantic have in giving Ex-Raid passes to players constantly raiding in an attempt to earn one, when raids are essentially the one thing keeping Pokemon Go relevant in regards to both game-play and earning power?

If your goals are purely financial (And Niantic has proven time after time how little they care about the actual player base), then you keep the most active player base on read, and spend the rest of your time and effort attempting to draw newcomers in, as well as attempting to regain the interest of the rest of your once sizable player base. Which would explain why most of the individuals who are receiving Ex-Raid passes are either New or Lapsed Go-ers.

I've personally never been much for conspiracy theories, and I'm not saying that this is definitely the case, but boy does it smell like it could be.

Full Disclaimer: This is most definitely not a case of sour grapes in regards to Mewtwo, as I have been fortunate enough to catch three of them. I'm just pointing this out in hopes that it'll spread through the player-base and result in enough (financial) protest that it strangles Niantic's cash flow to the point of forcing their hands. This is of course a completely naive hope, but I like the Go community enough to try. If Niantic wants to weaponize user loyalty that's their capitalistic right, but that doesn't mean we can't make them pay for it.

[Idea] Increase the time to battle a Legendary so as to help rural players?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 01:45 PM PST

(first time poster - sorry if I make a mess of this)

An idea occurred to me today, that if implemented could help rural players who have no hope of getting a Legendary due to lack of other players about - expand the length of the battle so a player has e.g. 15 minutes to beat it. They could do this by using a special item, the sort of thing you'd get on your seven day streak. With this item a single player could take up to 15 mins to battle the Legendary on their own, giving them a chance to beat it even if they can't find anyone else to play with. With four items in a month, they'd even have a good chance of catching one. Sure, they'd need a lot of Pokemon to do it, but surely it would be do-able for a regular player on a once-a-week basis.

With these items limited to only four a month, it wouldn't distort the game much for other players either. Could it work?

You have 150 coins. Which would you buy: One 3 use incubator or three 1 use incubators?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 08:18 PM PST

Personally, I'd be all about being able to buy a one use incubator for 50 coins, and would rather have 3 eggs going at a time instead of having to wait. My gut tells me Niantic would sell more coins to buy them if this were an option as well.

[Complaint] Getting simply too tired of spoofer's impunity

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 02:40 PM PST

I leave in quite competetive area, there are groups of each color, at least of 30 members each, all fighting over gold badges in gyms, every team can go out at midnight during winter time (quite harsh here, really, -15 celcius is common) and take control of over 20 gyms, just for fun and competition.

I'm trying to obtain gold badges in gyms in the middle of the forest (like real forest, not a park, simple wild forest, large one). I went there 3 times this week, no living soul is going there, it's cold, unpleasant and full of wild boars, definetely have better places to go, yet my gyms won't stand over 24 hours because one well-know spoofer keeps kicking me out from them just before midnight.

By well know spoofer I mean every member of local community know he spoofs, he was catched in the middle of spoofing countless times, entered out raid lobbys, took gyms that you can't access etc. We have filled over 100 reports, each containing quite a good proof with no effect, then we've read reddit and realised that we should report him of being agressive - no effects. He is just spoofing all the time, making really impossible moves (3 gyms, 6 minutes, 300meter to each other), yet Niantic don't really seems to care.

My motivation to play is going downhill, there is no point exploring and going to gyms far away from my home, only to get kicked in less than 24h by the same and only spoofer Is there any way to report spoofer in an effective way?

Can’t hit Kyogre with iPhone X curveballs...

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 05:43 PM PST

I switched from an iPhone 7+ who's screen was significantly wider. Never had issues curving balls up to hit groudon. Now with the iPhone X I can't get enough upward power along with curve to get the ball to Kyogre. With the narrower screen it really hurts chances with raid bosses that are further away. Ugh.

Took during the rain in NYC. Spheally annoying

A big part of my neighborhood is not showing up on the map. What can I do?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 05:09 PM PST

Is it me or is Kyogre stupid hard to catch?

Posted: 12 Jan 2018 04:37 PM PST

For starters I'm already 7/46 on Groudon because last ball issues and what not. Now comes Kyogre thinking alright I got this but the hit marker on it is extremely small and constantly moves left to right. It reminds me of the birds but way worse. Anyone else feel this way?
