We're on Patch 8.1, and you know what that means - Season 8 is in session, baby! Ranked isn't back up until Tuesday the 16th, so you grind-lords out there are going to have to pump the breaks just a tad bit longer. What's been the biggest part of this year's preseason for you?

And with ranked comes the start of the official 2018 professional season! It's been a while - we've seen some major shifts across the board with both players and teams moving out of the spotlight. Who's got the ticket for this years Worlds title? Is it too early to tell, or have you got it locked already? Let's hear it, yo!

Not saying he is broken right now but that a very large spike of the winrate.
Edit: I know it is based on very little pickrate and such a small sample size, yet it surprises rito would really simply buff a champion's raw base damage so much instead of trying to buff his waveclear and ap ratios to make him an actual midlaner. I am sad that rito simply can't find a way to remove brand support.

Augment is already one of the least popular keystones, and I'd wager the most common slowing item to build with it was FQC, but now with that (and FotM) gone the number of items with active slows falls to just 5.

Will Glacial Augment see any love after these items are removed?

So recently Riot has updated PBE with sweetheart Xayah and Rakan, which after being teased showed a vocal majority of dislike from the reddit community as shown here as well as PBE forum communities here and here.

After a few hours fan edits had emerged with suggestions on how to improve these skins.

Tweet from Yekaterina Bourykina about why the model cannot be changed

While some aspects of these edits cannot be updated due to model reasons(which should not be an excuse as there is 1-2 months to fix it) these suggestions have been completely ignored with the recent update even in terms of simple texturing which is unacceptable. The argument "well 3D modeling and texturing isn't so simple of a fix" could arise, however as someone who does 3D modeling and texturing, I can confirm IT CAN BE FIXED.

These are changes from the edits above that can be done without changing the models and just changing textures, shown in red circles

THERE IS NO EXCUSE for such small changes being made on these skins when there is at LEAST 1 month until they should be released. Riot is not taking community criticism on these skins seriously, if they do not think these skins can be fixed by the "deadline" they set themselves, they should be canceled and released later on because these tiny adjustments are unacceptable.

Why current Kha'zix is problematic & how to address these issues.

Hey guys Nutty here :) Just wanted to share with the league community why current Kha'zix is a problem not just to play against but to play as also. Most kha mains have come to an agreement that current Kha'zix is problematic (Fun wise and counterplay wise). Remember Strength =/= Fun. I'm pretty sure hearing from non Kha mains that we can agree playing against Kha'zix is not fun in the current state.


In my mind there should be a checklist when you die to Kha'zix that you should run through in your head.

"Was I isolated when I died?"

"Was he fed enough to kill me while not isolated?"

"Did I misposition so that even un isolated I die because I can not escape?"

More times than not I feel even when doing the above people still die to Kha'zix which is not how he should play. If I wanted to play a champion that had sustained damage along with the ability to burst people while not isolated I would play legit any other assassin in the game. When I look at this thing the first thing I picture is an assassin that preys on isolated targets. Not sustained damage dealer / run around like an ape and jump people in minion waves. Don't get me wrong being unisolated should not be the "end all be all". For example: If Kha'zix is 11/0 and you're an adc (not fed) by yourself in a minion wave unisod you should not just auto win the fight. There should be outplay potential. To make this happen you have to lower his bases and up his iso damage.


My first point is that the Q refund mechanic can not exist it will either be too strong or too weak. Secondly, it forces the base damage (Un-isolated damage) to be too high because you don't get an isolated or base damage increase from evolving Q.

To expand on this, the reason Q refund is either too strong or too low is that it is a sustained damage ability on a burst assassin. If Kha'zix Q does too much damage he can now kill every role in the game. He outbursts squishies and has enough sustained damage to actually kill tanks / Bruisers. Now, if you nerf the Q damage to not kill tanks he no longer out duels squishies and he loses to every role in the game. Kha'zix's goal should be to burst out of positioned squishies and to kill isolated targets given the right situation. Good players will force isolation situations or know where the enemy is. In my opinion Kha should be one of the highest skill cap champions in the game. Not this current run into an enemy by accident and get a free kill or randomly gank a lane without knowledge of where the enemy jungler is, who wins the lane matchup, if you're strong enough to kill them or not, etc. You should have to think before you gank as kha but not when his base damages are so high that you can level 3 gank a lane and guarantee kill the enemy in the minion wave.


Before I get into exactly what should be changed on Kha I'm going to go down a list of his abilities and just give my personal general thoughts on each ability.

  • Unseen Threat (Passive) - I feel changing the scale to be AD was a good change overall. BUT. His passive is hitting WAY too hard right now, late game and early game.

    What to change: You can touch legit anything on this passive to nerf it, overall it ends up being the same. Lower the scale, lower the base damage either is fine.

  • Taste Their Fear (Q) - Like I stated above current form of Q is not healthy for either side. Not fun to machine gun Q and not fun to play against. Kha'zix is a burst assassin not a sustained damage fighter. The base damage is way too high so people get one shot even if you don't evolve Q.

    What to change: Revert to old Q. Higher isolated damage lower base damage lower cooldown by 1 second. The reason why it should be this way and favors both sides kha players and non kha players, is that it gives his kit and his burst a clear counterplay. WERE YOU ISOLATED? YES? DIE. NO? GOOD YOU LIVE. It felt smoother. Had more counterplay. Overall it was what made him unique, it fit his identity more by emphasizing the isolation mechanic of his kit.

  • Void Spike (W) - Ability is perfect as is. Does what it needs to do does not need to be touched.

  • Leap (E) - Perfect as is.

  • Void Assault (R) - In my personal opinion R evolve seems fine especially if these other changes go through. For the active though I think 1 second stealth is perfect. When they increased the duration to 1.25 it felt fine and fair. Maybe a little strong. But 1.5 seconds per stealth is just way too long. I'm noticing it so much that extra 1 second overall time of stealth and .5 second per charge is just too much time to delay for cooldowns, teammates, avoiding abilities, ganking from a brush etc etc. It gives you so much free time and extra move speed for no reason and doesn't feel fair to play against. I obviously can't speak for every player on this but I'm pretty sure old kha 1 second stealth on an ultimate ability felt fair to play against. But 1.5 seconds just feels way too long.

    What to change: So what I say is to reduce the R stealth duration to 1.25 seconds and see how that is. If it needs to be nerfed to 1 second fine. But I would personally try out 1.25 again. As for R evolve. I think it is fine and should stay. The real problem with R evolve is people not knowing how to play against it and kha's base damages being way too high to abuse the stealth.


Kha'Zix mains' perspective

Almost every Kha'zix main I have spoken to has agreed that current Kha'zix can't even come close to how fun old kha was. Bursting someone with auto instead of Q doesn't feel right especially when it has nothing to do with isolation. If we wanted to play an assassin that auto attack one shots WE WOULD NOT BE KHA MAINS.

Duskblade

Just a side thought that I have is that currently I feel like locking in an assassin you are playing the duskblade champion and not the actual champion. You're not using your kit to its fullest potential you're setting up duskblade procs and duskblade one shots instead of one shots with your kit. Obviously I can not speak for every assassin player out there but I strictly believe Duskblade passive should be lowered and base stats increased like the lethality or base damage. Then I would probably make it melee only because if you increased the damage or lethality then ranged poke champs get to abuse it. Another cool idea for duskblade would be to make the passive proc melee auto attack and melee ranged abilities (rengar Q (single target proc though) kha Q) BEFORE YOU RAGE THE DAMAGE WOULD HAVE TO BE NERFED FOR SURE.


TL;DR - I want Kha to be fun to play and play against with clear defined counterplay / outplay potential. Kha'zix Q should be reverted to old Q. Evolving it should increase the isolation damage, not give cooldown refund. His Passive and Q base damages (his un isolated damage) should be lowered overall so it feels fair to play against. R stealth duration ON ACTIVE should be 1.25 seconds or 1 second.

Changelist TL;DR -

Passive - Lower base damage.

Q - Take away cd refund, lower un-isolated damage. Lower overall cooldown BACK to 3 seconds. Increase isolated damage un-evolved and increase the isolation damage when evolved.

R - Lower stealth duration on active to 1.25. Increase to 1 second if still too long.
