Can't buy items because my team's Furion spammed shared tangos on me and hid them in trees

Posted: 30 Dec 2017 04:29 PM PST

This has been in the game since forever. Valve, can you please fix it so the shared tangos don't change owner? I.e. Furion shares Tangos with me, but they're still his own. I can just use them. That way they can't ruin the game anymore by forcing tangos into your overflowing inventory, picking them up again and hiding them in trees.

:(

Edit:

To clarify:

A few years ago, people abused a bug where they would spam tangos on the ground until the server crashed, whenever they were losing a game. To counter this, Valve introduced a hard limit on items owned by one player so that they couldn't do this anymore. Now, if you own the maximum allowed number of items and try to purchase another item, the game will respond by saying "Item not allowed on this hero" and you won't be able to purchase anything until you kill a few of your items on the ground. The problem is, that whenever a teammate shares a Tango with you, it'll change ownership and become yours. But since they're spamming the tangos into your inventory, it'll overflow and the items drop to the ground. Then they pick them up again, tp into some trees deep behind enemy lines and drop them there so you can't reach and destroy them. Then you will eventually reach the maximum number of items allowed and won't be able to purchase any items.

2 months after their release, who ultimately was the better addition from the Dueling Fates update?

Posted: 31 Dec 2017 05:26 AM PST

Now that a while's past long enough for us to play with/against them, who would you say was the better addition to Dota: Pangolier, or Dark Willow?

  • Who's more fun?
  • What's their job, and how do they get about doing it?
  • What did they add to the game? What can the competitive meta do with them that's new?
  • Did they break anything or enable some bad pub experiences along the way?
  • Are the characters good, and do they match with their play styles?

What *really* happens when you miss a last hit?

Posted: 30 Dec 2017 01:30 PM PST

Does the gold go to the creep? What does it do with the gold? Does it purchase a house for its family? Does it buy a new weapon? Does it throw the gold away? Does it save it for later? Does it lose it to the creep that last-hits it? Does it invest in stock? Does it give the gold to the ancient? How do the heroes generate gold? Do they get paid by the ancient with the gold they missed out on last hits? Is the ancient the one that gives heroes gold on last hits? Does that mean creeps are all bounties? Why isn't Bounty Hunter taking advantage of this? Is it possible for a creep to never die for a whole match? Would this make them WANTED and extremely valuable? How is babby formed? How creep get pragnent? Why are there only two creep types? How does the creep society work? Where do they live? Why do they carry gold into battle (if they aren't bounties)? Where do they come from, where are they going? Do towers also carry gold somehow? Are towers sentient? How to catapults move on their own? Are they also sentient? IS magic involved? Why isn't Anti-Mage taking advantage of this? Where do neutral creeps come from? Do lane creeps get gold when killing a neutral creep? What about the other way around? Who pays the neutral creeps (if they aren't bounties)? WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?

Let's talk about Discord Integration! Would you support deeper integration with Dota 2?

Posted: 30 Dec 2017 05:23 PM PST

As you may know Discord has become quite common to keep in touch with friends between games, as well as locating players in groups found in various Discord channels.

Right now Dota 2 doesn't appear to support other than displaying "DOTA 2" while in Discord.

Do you think Valve should consider supporting the GameBridge SDK (Discord's API) in Dota 2 in FY18?

Rich Presence is a powerful way to integrate your game with Discord. To do it most effectively, you should think about its purpose and how well (or not) it matches with your game and your implementation. Rich Presence is designed for these three things:

  • Show interesting, unique, actionable data in a user's profile
  • Allow friends to spectate each other's games
  • Join a friend's in-game party or server directly from Discord

More information about Rich Presence can be found here

What are your thoughts?
