Devs: whether or not you rework Freddy, at least do something about the dream world fog. Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:34 AM PST The dream world effects are ridiculous when playing Freddy. Sure, you could argue that it's just as hard to see Freddy as it is for Freddy to find you, but I guarantee you that playing in that fog in first person point of view is worse. I love playing Freddy so far and I'm trying to get better at him, but without fail every game I'll blink for half a second and suddenly lose the survivor I was chasing in the damn foggy dream world fx, and not be able to find them again until their red aura is halfway across the map working on a generator. Why is Freddy's dream world more of a hindrance to him than anything else? It's "his world," so to speak, but he's the only one that really suffers from it. I play survivor somewhat equally, and I'd say the dream world fog helps me as a survivor because it's easier to sneak around within Freddy's terror radius and not be seen until I can wake up. Whereas, when I play Freddy, I deal with that exact same thing and get pummeled. tl;dr please lessen the dream world fog effects or at least bend the dream world fx more in the killer's favor if it's supposed to be part of the killer's ability. They should give killers a way to gain items too! Posted: 10 Jan 2018 11:47 AM PST Survivors have chests to gain items for free and perks that facilitate and or improve the looting mechanic. How come killers have no way of earning add-ons from the match? The only item related perk is Franklins demise which is great to make survivors lose their fancy items! If you have a looter build, you have great economy advantage by getting green and higher with attachments saving you bloodpoints that you would otherwise be spending to unlock those items, if you keep the item and escape you get that item back to full health! My observation is that killer add ons end up costing more in the long run because there arent any ways to stockpile them without simply not using them. I propose that killers also get to loot chests for common addons on their ability if they have an open slot. They could even give them abilities like chest sabotage(survivor is mangled when opening a chest) What do you guys think? [link] [comments] | ||

PSA: Dead by Daylight is getting Colorblind mode (AND MORE) Posted: 10 Jan 2018 01:46 AM PST ONLY ON NVIDIA Yesterday Nvidia announced a new Feature called Freestyle which allows you to add Filters (like with Reshade) to supported games, you can stack them and have (as of now) up to 3 presets which you can configure yourself. This includes Colorblind filters as well as other Image Processing and even more complex stuff like e.g. Depth of Field. . I was surprised to see that Dead by Daylight is one of the 100 games at Launch that will support this feature (probably due to Unreal Engine and them being too lazy to implement their own colorblindness feature) Right now i'm getting mixed feedback, for some people it seems to work (you need the newest driver and geforce experience) and for others not so much (me included), however i'm sure in the next days/weeks this will work more consistently :) . Even when you know saving the last person is absolutely pointless (On the basis that they don't have communication or a specific perk to make it possible) Even if you save him, you greatly increase your chance of losing your life. More importantly, when someone is about to be hooked and this is their third hook, why do you idiots not run to the exits at this moment? Why do I keep getting double / triple kills from Survivors that don't run even when someone is pretty much guarunteed death and some seemingly forget he's going to insta die and run in for the save. We need a baseline for balance Posted: 10 Jan 2018 06:45 AM PST Balance has been a hot topic recently, and is only getting hotter. Everyone is throwing out ideas, and the majority's consensus is Killers need buffs. However, Survivors are naturally against that, and some even think some Killers need nerfs, or that the proposed buffs are too much. A compromise is difficult bordering impossible. In order to even have a chance of reaching that point, we need to agree upon a baseline. Killers think 'balance' is if they are good, they should get a 4K most of the time. Survivors think 'balance' is if they are good, they should escape most of the time. And that makes sense. After all, players should be awarded for their skill. However, in a match where the Survivors and Killer are roughly equal in skill, what is the result for a balanced game? After all, the Survivors should escape if they're good, but the Killer should kill them all if they're just as good. Thus, there needs to be a determined baseline. The most logical point is 2 kills, but I can't say for sure. After all, do Survivors want to play a game where they have a 50% (obviously barring skill) chance of 'losing'? Do Killers want to play a game where most likely half of their opponents 'beat' them? At the same time, the game is set up to snowball for the Killer. As more generators get done, the Killer has fewer places to look for Survivors. Once a single Survivor is sacrificed, the pressure on the remaining Survivors goes up significantly. Perks like NOED, Devour Hope, Dying Light, etc become a bigger threat the later the game gets as well. If the Killers get a buff, it needs to make the first Sacrifice easier since that's when the Killer becomes truly threatening. At the same time, with that buff how do you prevent the Killer from snowballing afterwards into a 3 or 4 kill match instead of the 'sweet spot' of 2? The hatch, for example, is a great idea to counter the snowball. Granted, in execution is caused a whole other problem with hatch standoffs, but still, the idea is solid. TL;DR-Until everyone agrees on a baseline(or we get an official one from BHVR), the community will constantly be going back and forth on their balance suggestions due to their different views on the result of a balanced match. ... Anyways, he just his strength to lift you up, stab, pause, stab again and toss the body. It really shows hw is well, just a kilelr. His is the least flashy, but one of the more satisfying for me. Trapper & wraith: Wet noodles Nurse: She chokes you out then has to I was told that she was closing their eyelids, like you do with the dead. I never noticed in game. Thanks u/Wild_Smurf for pointing that out hag: So much "gore", very flashy. Doctor: He makes so much noise and yelling, it is overcompensating for something. Huntress: Well she kills ou, then has a hissyfit with her axe. Sure it's quick like him, but she has a tantrum in the process Leatherface: So.Long Freddy: No commenjt I love all the mori's, but his is so mundane and non flashy that it reinforces his quiet, cold appeal. The whole killer fantasy goes out the window when survivors just dance around you body block you and drop shit on you over and over and over again.
