| Any word on new maps with the upcoming DLC? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:18 AM PST I'm hoping for a little more map variety with the new DLC. Lakes, Small Continents, Sandstorm and others that were in Civ V were nice for a little variety. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 13 Jan 2018 03:45 AM PST First time Civ player. I bought Civ VI on a whim. I had been eyeing it for a long time but I'd never played strategy games before so I was hesitant. It's been a long time since a game has literally kept me up from dusk to dawn, engaged for hours on end, and I just want to keep playing. On my 4th attempt I finally won my first game with a Religious victory with Teddy Roosevelt. I think I'll try Japan next. [link] [comments] | ||
| Did anyone else like the new hosts on the latest Dev Livestream? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 04:23 AM PST Just wanted to say the Sarah and Brian were really awesome on the Governors Deep Dive stream. While the actual gameplay shown wasn't too content heavy, it was really nice to watch those two play. They were informative, but were also focused on just having fun. I dunno they just seemed really bubbly and relaxed which made for a really wholesome and enjoyable watch :) Also, apparently Sarah is the voice behind the First Looks! (I was wondering who it was) Link to the VOD for those who haven't watched yet. [link] [comments] | ||

| [CIV6] Rise & Fall City-State Nerf Posted: 13 Jan 2018 01:09 AM PST Apologies if this has already been mentioned on here at some point. During the latest livestream when the city-state panel was opened I noticed that the yields you get for sending 3 and 6 envoys to a city-state have been nerfed. At the moment you get +2 (+4 for the Commercial Hub) of the appropriate yield for all of your districts of the city-state's type. In Rise & Fall though this has been changed. At 3 envoys you get +2 to that yield from the tier 1 building of that district (for example, from all your Libraries for a scientific city-state), and then at 6 this applies to the tier 2 building too (so your Universities in this case). This means that you won't be able to just drop empty districts in all your cities for free yields if you've scattered a lot of envoys about the city-states. You now have to actually develop those districts in order to gain the benefit. This change is similar to another one the expansion is making where you will have to build a Market/Lighthouse in your Commercial Hub/Harbor in order to gain the additional trade route. How do you folks feel about this? [link] [comments] | ||

| AI tech progress is frustrating Posted: 13 Jan 2018 11:23 AM PST I know the AI has always and probably will always do weird stuff but man is it frustrating to be playing a decent game only to wind up at war with another civ who has beelined chemistry and now has anti-tank units by the mid 1500s but still can't figure out rowboats. | Did the A.I. become better at building district-restricted wonders? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 05:33 PM PST I was SHOCKED when the King A.I beat me to Great Zimbabwe. Still haven't seen them build Venetian Arsenal. [link] [comments] | ||

| Can we ban posts of starts next to another Civ's settler? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 05:09 PM PST IMO, it's really getting old and I'm tired of seeing the same thing being posted 7 times every day. When people keep posting them, nothing new is being added and they only clog up the /new/ feed. [link] [comments] | ||
| Is there any way to control your city border expansions? Posted: 13 Jan 2018 05:01 AM PST Is there? either in the standard game or via a mod? I am getting seriously annoyed at this, I have one city which has 9 bananas within its borders already and the damn game decides I need more of them and keeps expanding into banana hexs rather than either of the 2 irons hexs which have been on my border for what feels like forever, and I have no iron! /rant EDIT - for clarity I meant the standard-automatic expansion. I know I can buy them with gold, and regularly do [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 13 Jan 2018 11:44 AM PST So I have literally 0 experience with any of the Civ games, and I bought Civ V because it was really cheap thanks to the Steam sales, and besides I always wanted to try it. But I am at a loss of what exactly to do. I can't even figure out what's the winning condition, or how to ally with other civs! Could you give me some tips to get me started? [link] [comments] | ||
