Oh boy my first Rage Inducer. I hate this damn game, can't' wait to start a new game.

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 08:41 AM PST

I'm just a few games into Civ 6. Haven't played any Civ games in the past.

I am waging a Religious war on one continent while waging a military war on my content.

I am finally turning the tide and winning both wars. I'm a good 3 days (roughly 14 hours) into the game.

I'm focussed, I'm committed, I'm into it, and then BAM the game is over because someone leveled Culture. .... CULTURE! Of all the freaking damn things to lose to.... CULTURE!

I hate this game!

Starting a new one tonight.

Firaxis Livestream - Governors Deep Dive: Devs Play India

Civ6: If everyone except the last-in-line player passes on a Great Person, and the last-in-line player is not generating any relevant Great People Points, does that effectively "lock down" that Great Person so that no one can ever get one?

What size/strength are the military units supposed to be?

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 03:34 PM PST

For "scale", we know a 1 city = 1 tile. How would this reasonably translate to units? The quantity shown on screen seems token more than anything else.

What am I ordering around? Divisions? Platoons? Armies?

Guesses welcomed :)

[REQUEST] Please make posting crazy starts (surrounded by impassable terrain etc) a bannable offense without the seed

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 07:11 AM PST

There are too many posts now of dudes posting their crazy mountain starts and then saying they restarted before they got the seed. C'mon I know you've seen the threads demanding the seeds for these maps since that's probably the only reason you're posting them. Do better guys

Does anyone else miss the Civ 5 unit naming? Like "Roman Mechanized Infantry" instead of Civ 6's "Rome - Mechanized Infantry"?

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 10:29 PM PST

I know its a small thing, but it was something I liked about Civ 5 that I noticed was missing in it's sequel.

New Wonder - Temple of Artemis

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 03:47 PM PST

Just in case anybody missed it, I hadn't seen any justification until now, it is all but confirmed that the new wonder in R&F which people thought may be Artemis or Zeus is Artemis. I believe this is the case as the wonder appears under the 'Archery' technology just as in Civ 5 and as would be expected. You can see this in the latest dev stream playing as Chandragupta.

[Civ V] What would you say are the Top 5 mods for Civ V that are a MUST own?

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 08:12 AM PST

Hey guys,

So...I've played Vanilla Civ V for far too long, and I think it's long overdue that I start playing a few games with mods. (I'll need to find one that re-enables Steam achievements!)

What would you say are 5 mods out there right now that are a required, must-own for anyone looking to play modded? I don't want to overhaul the gameplay too much (Vox Populi I've heard does that, so I'm not sure that would be my cup of tea), I just want a few small things to mix things up. I play mostly as Poland and the Shoshone, building tall empires, and I love winning culture and space race victories more than anything, if that says anything about my play-style. :)

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. And it doesn't have to be just 5 mods. If you have more than that, please do share them with me! I'm just trying to get an idea of which 5 mods to prioritize before anything else.

Thanks!!

"Nobody Likes Me, Everybody Hates Me"

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 02:51 PM PST

But actually I have no idea why other Civs hate me so much in VI. I've only been aggressive when declared war on so I can't figure out why the entire world is against me

are Wars of Liberation working as intended?

Posted: 11 Jan 2018 10:20 AM PST

  • Australia takes 2 french cities.
  • I see Australia is about to finish Petra... fuck that. WAR!
  • Liberate the only 2 french cities left on the map.
  • everyone loves me.
  • Catherine is now my bride to be.

couple of turns later

  • Game: "You can now declare a war of liberation on John Curtin!"

??????????

He had no allied cities under occupation (I liberated before the liberation cassus beli) so after unlocking it... it keep popping up "You can declare blah blah blah"

what? but I already did.. and he currently owns 0 allied cities is in 0 wars vs my city-states or allies.

I did end up declaring war and taking 2 of his cities. declaring war penalty was 0. I did received a very minuscule amount after taking cities. -16 after taking 2 cities in the industrial age. I gave one back and kept the one with all the wonders. kept -9 for the one city.

I shouldn't have been able to declare a war of liberation on Australia. I did all of this during Medieval ages (liberation of France) so unlocking it should NOT trigger the war on Australia because it no longer holds allied cities. feels like I cheated to take the wonderful city .^
