So instead of using portals, towns and building , why not actually have giant battle in the background , like something similar to this war3 cinematic https://youtu.be/c2vm-QjK2xQ?t=108 but the battle would never end

Who else is warming up to Void Elves?

Posted: 07 Dec 2017 04:02 AM PST

I admit, as with a lot of people I was hoping for High Elves at first... but the more I'm seeing about the Velves, the more I'm liking them.

When Khadghar hears that the Horde and Alliance are back to their old ways.

Posted: 06 Dec 2017 08:02 PM PST

Showerthought: With the inclusion of the Nightborne, the Horde controls a disproportionate amount of magical/arcane power on Azeroth.

Posted: 07 Dec 2017 08:35 AM PST

It's been well established how gifted in the arcane arts the sin'dorei (blood elves) are. Now, the shal'dorei (nightborne, closest to the ancient highborn elves) will soon be adding their mystical might to the Horde.

Granted, the Alliance have wayward "highborn" (in the form of kal'dorei - night elf - mages), but what else? Khadgar seems adamant about remaining neutral, and while Jaina wholeheartedly sides against the Horde, I cannot see Dalaran flip-flopping yet again and breaking neutrality (since we just defeated the Burning Legion). Of course, it's not out of the question, either.

The Alliance also will be getting void elves and lightforged, however everything seems to be pointing at these races/factions/whatever as being a scant few instead of entire societies/cities/peoples. Not to discount the overall might of the Alliance, but it seems that most of their mystical power is derived from the Light and similar sources. That being said, I can't help but imagine that with the accumulated knowledge between the two Horde elven races, someone may end up finding a stand-in for the Focusing Iris and start creating more mana bombs.

Then again, Azerite (or whatever its called) could just be such a power-laded macguffin that it renders everything else moot. If nothing else, it's certainly setting up a nice theme of light & void vs arcane & nature for BfA.

Apologies if this was a little ramble-y. Still working on first cup of coffee this morning :<

Edit: I see you, Alliance folks. You bring up some interesting points concerning the ingenious nature of human mages, etc (which I would counter argue that millennia of practice and knowledge more than compensates for). Fellow Hordies, you do, too. Other things I've been thinking about involve the vast knowledge of ley lines and how to manipulate them that both the sin'dorei and shal'dorei possess, the fact that the Forsaken exist and have many powerful mages on their own (Gunther Arcanus - former Kirin Tor mage & self-made necromancer/lich, Helcular - former apprentice to Kel'Thuzad), and the Goblins' recklessness knows no bounds.

Something else that comes to mind, though not directly magic/arcane-related, involves Plague and the collaboration of Forsaken, Goblin, and elven minds to produce a plague-laden "dirty" mana bomb. At the very least, the fact that Goblins still haven't tried (or been "convinced" by the Dark Lady to try) to strap plague barrels to bombs or explosive shells still seems unbelievable. Just imagine the bomb that was unleashed on Theramore, but also scattering plague at the same time.

[Community Raid] US Horde Normal Antorus 12/7 8pm EST

Posted: 07 Dec 2017 09:31 AM PST

Hello all! It's your friendly neighborhood Prot Warrior Toombz here. We at ARD are organizing a Community Learning Raid for Normal Antorus, ABT for 12/7 at 8pm EST. This raid is for US-Horde. The instructions to attend this raid are below, so please read the whole post!

If you are new to ARD or Community Raid events, these are FREE! Groups are organized by experienced ARD raiders and follow the ARD policy of "No Douche Canoes". You can expect a helpful and friendly environment, fight explanations, a good bit of joking around, and an overall great experience. ARD Community Raids last for 3 hours typically and go as far as you can. You should come prepared and know the fights as best you can.

If you've ever wanted to do a PUG but were afraid of toxicity, this is a great place to start as our community is built around a very simple premise: NO DOUCHE CANOES. ARD started from a single Reddit post, and now we have multiple Mythic and Heroic Raiding teams running all throughout the week and weekend. We've been doing community runs of current content since October of last year, and in that process, have gotten over 1000 raiders their AOTCs, all free of charge! We love meeting new people who like our philosophy, so if this sounds like something you can get behind, we would love to have you join a community raid!

We recommend for these runs:

  • An iLvl of 920 or higher
  • Food/Flasks/Pots/Coins (we can usually provide feasts and cauldrons but just in case you should bring your own)
  • DBM and Discord (Discord is required as we do all invites through it. Plus our Discord is a fun time!) ARD Discord: https://discord.gg/pAgx7aR
  • A Positive Attitude! We might wipe and that is okay! We are a community that is very friendly (no one will ever yell at you for making a mistake) and we only have one major rule: NO DOUCHE CANOES. You either get it and love it, or ARD isn't the right place for you.

To attend:

Space is limited, but if you don't get into this run, we have plenty of other runs available in our Discord! Check us out! Looking forward to seeing you all on the Discord and in the World of Warcraft!
