Why can't we see the reason why we are kicked from dungeons?

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:03 AM PST

New player here (started a month ago) and I find it pretty dumb that we can't see the reason we are kicked, I want to know what I'm doing wrong so I can improve.

Usually I'll whisper to some instance member and they'd usually say "stfu noob" and put me on ignore. It would be pretty beneficial if people actually wrote proper reasons to kick someone instead of saying "cancerous" or "gay"

Sometimes it feels like Blizzard might run out of world threats or new continents for future expansions, but I know there is still so much we haven’t seen yet. Here are some predictions and possibilities. Thoughts?

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 06:48 AM PST

Return to Northerend: There are a lot of stones left unturned in Northerend. Bolvar is still there and there's some potential for him as a villain. The spider kingdom is still there. There's a lot going on quite frankly, and it stands to reason we could end up back there for an expansion at some point.

Underground expansion: this is an idea that has been toyed with for YEARS by fans, and even developers to an extent. Blizzard actually made Azol'Nerub a whole zone in Lich King but scrapped it because the idea of an underground zone was too risky. There's a LOT of lore stuff going on "underground" in Azeroth(spider kingdoms, dwarf caverns, goblin cities, old god stuff). There's a lot they could do with an underworld X-Pack. Except there's one problem: skyboxes, art design, environment, etc. playing in dark underground zones for an entire expansion with no skyboxes or anything could get very boring and depressing, and it would take some serious artistic design to combat that.

New planet expansion: while Argus was a really cool concept and a great patch, the even bigger implication of that patch is that there are so many different worlds out there that we could now potentially access. If Blizzard did ever run out of "on-Azeroth" ideas, they could simply send us to a made up new planet

Void expansion: this kind of goes along with the above idea, but we now know the void are the major threat in all the universe. It stands to reason that we'll have an expansion totally centered around them at some point. We may even have a few centered around the void just as we've had multiple Burning Legion expacs, but that depends on how long Blizzard wants WoW to go on for.

"Other side of Azeroth": I know most of the globes in the game don't really depict anything to the east of Eastern Kingdoms or to the west of Kalimdor, but if I recall, Blizzard has still been pretty ambiguous on if there is anything there. They may have said there "isn't", but if Blizzard really wanted to go that route, why not just make the whole world a globe on the map? Why not show zeppelin and boat paths go right from eastern kingdoms to get to Kalmidor and Vice Versa? Why not have any characters mention sailing or traveling to the other big continent from the other way? I think because they purposely want to keep the option open that there is something else back there. What could it be? More islands maybe, but they could always add a massive continent.

Time travel expac: I know I know, WoD was a disaster. But there's a lot of cool stuff they could do with pre-sundering Azeroth. Imagine an expansion where we go back in time and explore Azeroth when it was a supercontinent with varying troll and insect empires. That could be really cool. The only problem is that time travel in fiction is almost always a disaster.

There are many other ideas, what do you all think?

LFG requirements are not insane

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:55 AM PST

I saw this post claiming 90% of LFG posts are lies, and I've been seeing complaints on this sub for awhile regarding unrealistic group expectations. So, I decided to go through all the LFG groups (ignoring ones with no tanks or healers, spam groups, or ones with <5 people) and see if group requirements are really as insane as people are claiming.

Level Avg ilevel Ilvl range SotP* AotC**
Normal 933 900 - 950 30% 7%
Heroic 948 940 - 955 66% 38%

* Seat of the Pantheon (normal mode completed)

** Ahead of the Curve (heroic mode completed)

Huh. That doesn't look so bad. Only about a third of groups for normal or heroic require the raid to have been completed on that difficulty. The average item level requirement is roughly equivalent to what drops in that difficulty, but that item level includes two 1000 item level legendary items, and an artifact weapon with 3 relics has a relatively high item level too. In other words, the average gear requirements aren't that bad. And even if your character isn't all that geared, there were plenty of groups with low or no item level requirements.

We can see some outliers towards the top, but those were usually denoted with some text saying "speedrun" or "fast clear, no wipes". Clearly, these groups are intended for experienced players just looking to clear quickly, and there's nothing wrong with that. Checking some of these groups revealed that for every one I checked, the leader had at least SotP (for normal) and/or AotC (for heroic). A couple had a mythic kill or two. One guy was definitely looking for a carry for his shit-geared alt, but he had AotC on his main. :P

At least four heroic groups explicitly stated they were learning groups.

All in all, group requirements look about correct.

Why is Azeroth the last hope to save the universe from the Burning Legion?

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 10:43 AM PST

If Azeroth is such a tough nut to crack, why doesn't Sargeras just fuck off and burn the rest of the universe first, and then come back and murder us?
