I need an adult

Posted: 21 Dec 2017 04:39 PM PST

I've been obsessed with Zelda my whole life, but my 29-year-old girlfriend never played video games growing up. Last night, she beat OoT (her first Zelda game) for the first time. 100% Completion.

I just wanted to share this with you guys, because it's truly amazing how this game series can bring magic into peoples' lives even when some of the games in said series are decades old.

My (28) girlfriend (29) never gamed growing up. She had never even heard of Zelda until we started dating (at which point she heard a LOT about it haha!).

Long story short, I got her a New 3DS XL for her birthday, and one of the games I got her was Ocarina of Time 3D.

After a short while, she wound up playing it almost every night at my house while we hung out.

It was so great seeing someone exploring Hyrule and feeling the joy, frustration, and pride that comes with going through any Zelda game.

She's starting Majora's Mask 3D tonight, and the hardest part for me will be to just shut up and not ruin the story/gameplay for her!

I love these games, guys.

Found some Link and Zelda action sprites

I would love for the next Zelda game to use a darker variant on the cel-shaded style; in other words, make it look like the MM3D artwork.

I updated the BS Legend of Zelda Guide to make it a little easier to read, and I thought you guys might want it! I didn't write the guide, just formatted it a little and spellchecked.

How do I know what to do in BOTW?

Posted: 22 Dec 2017 08:41 AM PST

I'm picking up a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and I cannot wait to pick up BOTW for it, but I'm having my second thoughts. After going over many reviews it seems as if the perfect game. I'm a little hesitant though because I'm worried after the opening scene it will let me go and I won't know what to do. I know it's an open world game but I'm still a little worried I'll go to the wrong place and ruin my fun. Is the game a little bit structured. Don't get me wrong I love how there's an open world aspect but i don't know if it's structured enough

Next zelda game

Posted: 22 Dec 2017 06:01 AM PST

Is there a mention in an interview or from nintendo if next zelda game is going to be on switch? Considering that one zelda game (nowaday) takes a lot of time to develop (since it's going to be an open world), I don't know if they would move on to newer console by the time next zelda game is released.

Champions ballad DLC wolf link amiibo support.

Not sure if anyone has posted this but I found out last night that you can use the wolf link amiibo to help make the first part of the DLC slightly less infuriating. Wolf link draws enemies attention and also attacks. It helps when any tiny little thing will kill you.

[OoT] A realisation that made me sad about Saria

Posted: 21 Dec 2017 02:19 PM PST

Hello everybody.
I'm fairly new to Zelda and have recently decided to play the Zelda games - as I really liked the Minish Cap and Link's Awakening, the only two I've played prior to this summer. I decided to play them in chronological order of release This probably means that what I'm about to say is common knowldege here, so sorry about that, I just need to share it nonetheless.
I finished OoT this monday, and absolutely loved it. Looking back, I realised something about when you play Saria's song after obtaining the Ocarina of Time. Saria says she doesn't recognize your ocarina. I thought she was surprised by the new sound. Now I understand that she was really sad (maybe hurt ?) that Link is not using the Ocarina she gave him when he left Kokiri Forest, the token of her friendship, and how much he means to her.
This makes me feel so sad for her. I didn't think a character would touch me the way Marin did - as I really loved Link and Marin's bond in LA (and the end of Link's Awakening is still my favourite so far in the series), but Saria's sadness affects me more as much as Marin's final request to Link does, which is a lot.
I'm really starting to fall in love with this franchise. And I can't wait to try Majora's Mask.
Merry christmas to you all
