I saw someone’s cool cross stitch gift that their sister made so I taught myself the basics and made this. I’m quite proud so I wanted to post.

In exceedingly happy with Breath of the Wild.

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 07:01 AM PST

I know this post is late, but I have to talk about it with someone, so why not the community devoted to it?

When breath of the wild was revealed, I didn't really keep up with it. It was another of the many blips on my gaming radar. When it released, I didn't bother looking into it too much as I knew I wouldn't get it until I had the switch, so why drool over the game I couldn't have yet?

Then this Christmas came. And I was lucky enough to get a switch along side Breath of the Wild. And I have to say, this game stole my breath away. I haven't felt this much excitement for a new adventure in a Zelda game since I was a kid and played Ocarina of Time.

Let's be honest, most of us remember how insanely awe-inspiring Ocarina was for us as kids. You leave the forest and... what?! You mean I can go wherever I want?! (Not really, but still most places without hindrance). And it was magnificent. Nothing since has given me a similar sensation of vast adventure, save The Elder Scrolls: OblIVion.

Then on Christmas night I finally got to sit down, hook up my switch and boot the game. And it struck me like a house shot from a cannon. I exited the ressurection chamber, and the world blossomed before me. And I explored. Then you find out, wait! This tiny island-mountain you're on is only but the peak of the world you have access to.

Currently on my way to Impa. And I've never been so ready or eager to fight evil and save hyrule.

Aonuma puts an end to the timeline debacle.

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 04:28 PM PST

http://www.gamesradar.com/after-breath-of-the-wild-is-nintendo-still-interested-in-the-zelda-timeline-heres-what-they-said/

http://nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-on-its-approach-to-the-zelda-timeline-understands-fans-appreciation-for-it/

"We published a book with the timeline, but we definitely got comments from users saying, 'Is this really accurate? I think this should be this way. It's different.' And history is always kind of imaginative. It's left to the person who writes the book. So that's how we approach it as well. It's not necessarily that we come up with a game and think, 'Oh, this is where it fits in the timeline.' Honestly, lately, we're kind of scared to say exactly where things are in the timeline for that reason. But we like to leave things to the imagination most of the time."

Eiji Aonuma: Actually, those timeline-related questions are difficult because we've never designed any Zelda games by saying "hey, we're going to put that game here, we need to have it fit into this period or that one, etc." That's not what comes first for us. But indeed, once the game is released and we've been able to develop our story, we can tell each other "oh yes, we can make it fit here", but that's not important to us. Especially since there could be contradictions in every new game if we tried to follow the timeline. If we can put a game in the timeline, that's great, but as for Breath of the Wild, we haven't really decided where it belongs for now.

Hopefully this puts an end to this unending war between people bickering at each other.

What Zelda game should I play after BotW?

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 08:51 AM PST

Breath of the Wild was my first Zelda game, and despite some small issues I had with it I still adored the game, and I think it is what all open world games should resemble. I have a Wii U, but no other Nintendo system. I am thinking about getting a 3ds as well. So what should my next Legend of Zelda game be?

I, too, received BOTW Link Nendoroid. It's as cute as a baby Sidon. (More pictures in comments for reasons)

My hand drawn Zelda (NES) map

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 05:12 PM PST

Many say that they want the next game to be a direct sequel to BOTW a la Majora's Mask to OoT. How about a direct PREQUEL that takes place 10,000 years before BOTW?

A game at the height of Hyrule civilization where you play as the hero who sealed the original Calamity. And have the game tell a story that is slightly different from what the people in BOTW tell, playing up the whole "stories lost to time" theme.

Please help! I cannot find the other 4 shrines after completing the first shrine. What am I doing wrong?

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 08:46 AM PST

I completed the first shrine and the old man wants the treasure from the other four shrines. I climbed the tower to try to locate them but not sure what I am going wrong. Then I tried walking around to find them and I cannot find them that either. Help! Thanks in advance.

Going to the Symphony of the Goddesses tonight in Philly!

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 07:36 AM PST

Lifelong fan, super excited for tonight. For those that have seen it, what can be expected? The tickets were a gift from my GF, but do they have a gift shop where you can buy things before the show? And lastly, the tickets say 7:30 but how early did you arrive before the show? Thanks for taking the time to read/reply!

I'll update with reactions after the show!

Who would love if the next game was actually LoZ 1 or a direct sequel totally remade with the botw gameplay/engine

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 09:34 PM PST

either way if they made the exact map of zelda 1 in 3D, for us to navigate based on our memories of the first game. In the scale of botw, it would still be quite an adventure trying to get to those areas and find specific things.

Considering we already know about where everything is, the game wouldn't need to give the player directions, but they could Still make it so that just knowing where the place is on a 2d map doesn't mean it's easy to find in 3D.

it would be like, well I know the second dungeon should be around here but where in this forest is the path to the west leading to it. Or I know that somewhere there's something I can bomb around here but where there was only 8 squares of rock on the nes is now a whole mountain wall.

And 9 dungeons, that would be pretty awesome. They'd just need to update them with some puzzles and it would be very cool I believe.

Or maybe not, what do I know.

Is it true that there isn't enough armor slots to collect all the armor in the game? (BotW)
