Skyrim guards actually make me feel bad for commiting crime

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 10:19 PM PST

I got into a brawl with someone in solitude because they said something dickish and i got a 40 gold bounty and fled. I came back after all had settled down and guards would notice me and id just say "I dont have time for this, do you?" And they'd all just basically tell me to fuck off, but one guard told me "Well, your bounty is low... All right, get out of my sight. But you're known to me now, scum. Remember that." And kinda just made me feel like a dick. These guards are sworn to protect the hold from crime and protect the people, they train hard for years to get the position and train daily to stay strong but yet they have to deal with my stupid shit. A guy who got into a stupid brawl over something pathetic, and im giving all these guards extra work over all this. I paid off my bounty and stopped commiting crimes.

New found love for Skyrim

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:06 AM PST

Played Skyrim on and off since launch. Recently got an xbox one x and decided to load in all the mods! From camping and frost fall to 3 graphic and texture updates that make this game seem like it came out this year, perk system changes and other mods, it's like a new game. (Also have the cheat room, of course lol).

Additionally I DID NOT KNOW until now uploading, deleting, or changing the load order of your mods mid play through can make your game crash until now. This is a game changer because I stayed away from mods for fear of crashes and things like that.

Anyway thought I'd share. Skyrim is a great game and I look forward to experiencing it in a different light.

What are some of your favorite mods?

What's the purpose of 2h over 1h?

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 02:36 AM PST

It seems like you lose so much utility for such a small increase in damage. Is 2H even that good?

Skyrim (not SE) stutters on high end PC

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 06:22 AM PST

I have a 1080 ti, 7700k, 16 gb of Vram and skyrim randomly drops below 60 FPS with visible stuttering.

I installed ENBoost, tried unparking cores, setting high priority in task menager, using different Vsync methods in Nvidia settings- nothing helped.

I also tried to lock FPS to lowest i saw in afterburner i.e 56 FPS, but than skyrim did the same thing as before- randomly dropped several frames with visible stutter.

ah, and also tried that no stuutter mod for 64hz bug.

I can't get rid of this shit.

Need help with the Alchemist playthrough

Posted: 15 Dec 2017 04:01 AM PST

Today I decided I'll start a new game where I will be maxing out Alchemy and building the entire game around it. My gameplay-influent mods would be: Inigo, Jaxonz Positioner, and perhaps Alternative Start.

1) Is there a good cave which would have a large open space for a garden AND a secluded area to place the workplace? Something to live in, to fast travel to, and to have an alchemical garden (similar to what the Dark Brotherhood has in Dawnstar Sanctuary, but much bigger)

2) How to turn a cell into something which never respawns chests and enemies (console command or mod)?

3) Are there any mods which make Alchemy better but do not overhaul it? I'm definitely running Potion Labels but nothing gameplay-changing.

Think of any secluded mage/necromancer/vampire like Luah Al-Skaven or the guy who made magic spiders (fire, frost, shock) in a Nordic ruin (not Solstheim, he was in Skyrim, somewhere in the Reach). That's approximately how I want to play.

While doing quests and randomly exploring, I would gather ingredients (not the "press E" gather, the "move the entire plant/tree/shroom home" gather), while Inigo does the combat, and I know some Conjuration to have a daedric assistant as well. My weapons are only Crossbow and a dagger, just to apply poisons. Now I only need some good mods and gameplay ideas.

After I progress somewhat well in the game, I might share my makeshift workplace and garden on this sub. You'll be amazed! No, not really, my graphics settings are pathetic. But I'll still share.
