Replays have revealed just how many obvious aimbotters and high ping players are on OCE.

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 05:43 AM PST

FORENOTE: I understand that the replay feature is not entirely accurate, and shows a representation of the commands sent to the server, not the exact cause of events. With this in mind, the following is based on observations after taking this into account.

So I've started watching the replays of most of my deaths, both ones that felt dodgy and ones that felt legitimate, if only to provide a sense of what both look like in a replay.

What this has made clear is the number of people who, from the server's point of view, are shooting many meters behind where you are at any given time.

The most egregious example of which involved a player who watched my car come out from behind a building, drive behind another building, then start rounding a hill. The server saw them shoot the gap where my car was over a second ago, and gave them the headshot kill. My body was over 300m away.

The other thing that is obvious is players aimbotting or wallhacking; Staring in one direction only to flip to your exact location through a wall or building despite no audio queues. Snapshots, 180 degree instant headshots, multiple headshots in a row against targets in fast moving vehicles at long distances.

OCE has a problem with cheaters and players well outside where their ping should allow, this is common knowledge.

What astounds me, and the reason I'm making this thread is because until this week I've never realised how prevlant these two issues are.

As many as half my deaths are to players either obviously cheating or whose timeframe is so different to mine we are basically playing different games.

In regards to hackers, there are many solutions, all of which are possibly in the works and well known to developers, so there's not much to be said.

In regards to players with >300 ping.... Can somebody remind me why region locking during the ranked season isn't a thing yet?

Detailed weapon statistics spreadsheet

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:10 AM PST

Dear all,

Finally the v2.00 of the PUBG weapon statistics spreadsheet is out ! (celebrating the v1.0 of the game!)

PUBG Weapons damage stats

Goal is to answer : How many shot(s) do I need to kill someone ? Taking into account Helmet and armor levels AND now the Weapon class damages (but not the distance - damages are assumed to be "in range" of your weapon - Expect a damage drop with distance afterwards)

Reminder - This is a living document - WORK IN PROGRESS - I will adjust/correct values over time / after feedback.

As always feedback greatly appreciated - please contact me here or on tweeter.

Update v2.0 : 29-DEC-2017 : Update for the v1 of the game ; added the new weapons + Weapon class dedicated damages (http://steamcommunity.com/games/578080/announcements/detail/1469725882177008623)

If you take a bike inside the "F-boy shack" you can turn it from a deathtrap into a fortress.

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 08:02 AM PST

Others have probably did this already, but just in case.

You know the small shacks in Erangel with tiny windows too high to look outside, and only one door? If you take a bike inside and make the bike fall over you can stand on top of the bike's tires and get high enough that you can actually comfortably peek and shoot ouf on all of the tiny windows.

Usually those shacks are only good as hiding spots, but if people know you're in there it's a deathtrap. Last time I turned it into a fortress with my bike. Killed like 4 people who tried to sneak close and thought there is no way for me to see them.

I felt like I reinvented the wheel.
