All I want for the Holidays: WvW Edition

Dear Anet Overlords:

Now, you may remember I'm a long time supporter. I purchase your blood currency (gems) frequently. I have bought many outfits due to my nature which demands that I look something like a cross between Elton John and Palawa Joko if they were fathered by a Quaggan during immaculate conniption. The WvW players have lost faith. We have stood by your many battles, your consistent victories, the pouring forth of PVE content like women and men everywhere watching that Jason Momoa scene where he comes up out of the water and people weep. WEEP.

For the holidays we ask only one thing. A token of gratitude. A mere scrap from your bountiful harvest table that shows we who value combat over all else are still worthy of your Buffs.

In no particular order my list:

  1. An announcement of impending features regarding WvW in the coming year
  2. Server play assessment with an open AMA featuring the devs who directly impact both balance and WvW
  3. New map (with community involvement at the front end of development to ensure that the product matches the interest)
  4. Finding a new way of assessing which servers matchup for the linking process in order to ensure fair play by population (use an equation that factors in activity levels and play hours. Activity levels are defined by kills and deaths added together for a server. this would more accurately depict the population and effectiveness of a server on a large scale without polling the community)
  5. Skill scaling: Find a way to scale damage/healing by the number of enemies present - look into the outnumbered buff again (debuff the enemy group, buff the bold outnumbered heroes)
  6. Put tank tops in the game which is highly valuable for my character immersion (clearly our characters sit around on the fantasy couch with their feet up once in awhile watching reruns of Mish-M.A.S.H.)
  7. In game buffs when guilds work together forming an alliance (including guilds on the opposing server)
  8. An in game calendar option for scheduling guild events
  9. In game voice options supported by Anet (even if you hand this off to a partner it would help tremendously)
  10. Deep, long and strong look into condition damage modifiers and streamlining this in WvW based on being affected by armor

I know this is too late but i was going through the Path Of Fire story and realized That the names of the Awakened marshals translate to their direct titles in my Native language, which is Yoruba a Language from the western part of Nigeria in Africa.

Beastmarshal Oluwa Eranko Oluwa- Leader Eranko - Wild animals Which translates to Beastmarshal

Wurmmarshal Osa Ekolo Osa - Shepard Ekolo - Worms which also translates to Wurmmarshal

Its called Gw2Items and it lists the last 10000 items added to gw2 (api) in a quick and easy searchable way.

Currently it does not support automatic updating, i would need a server or always running maschine for that.

Obviously this tools contains spoiler regarding the gemstore and the game itself.

Anet needs profits to continue building the game. We could show them it is profitable building WvW too! I support Anet's stand on this. This is a profit driven and practical world. I love the game and love WvW and would like to see WvW support Anet to drive future developments.

If we show Anet that WvW can be profitable, maybe we can get more good things. Will you pay gems for cosmetics like different siege skins, siege skills, outer keeps and towers looks, inner looks, camps looks etc?

Imagine a reindeer pulled catapult sled. Or a keep's lord dressed in santa clothes. Or during Halloween a haunted castle look for garrison.

And how much gems is reasonable?

Hi everyone,

I don't know if I can put this message but if it's not the case I'll remove it no problem.

The french version will follow below.

Next week from the 27th at 9am UTC+1 to the 28th at 9am on EU servers I've decided to do for my guild and everyone that want to join us a marathon of events during 24 hours non-stop. The planning is below with all the events there will be. Everyone is welcome to join but my guild is a french guild so the explanations will first be given in french. However if you don't understand really well french I'll explain the events in english too (with a beautiful french accent :P).

Don't hesitate to tell your friends to come for the events and feel free to come for the events you want, whenever you want and as many times you want :)

For some events I'm still looking for some help to organise them, especially the triple trouble one since no one is able to lead it with me. If someone know what to do and want to help me to lead it's with pleasure. And maybe we could do a triple trouble with someone that lead it in english, someone in french and someone in german or in another language :D. I also need egg blockers for the event but we'll see if we got enough people to do the event.

If there isn't enough people for some events they will be change with other smaller events instead so don't worry there will be events for the whole marathon.

Salut tout le monde, La semaine prochaine du 27 à 9h00 UTC+1 au 28 à 9h00 sur les serveurs EU j'ai décidé de réaliser pour ma guilde et toutes les personnes qui souhaitent nous rejoindre un marathon d'événements durant 24h non-stop. Le programme est en-dessous avec tous les événements qu'il y aura. Tout le monde est bienvenu mais ma guilde est une guilde française et les explications seront données en français en premier. Cependant si vous ne comprenez pas très bien le français j'expliquerai les événements aussi en anglais (avec un magnifique accent français :P).

N'hésitez pas à en parler à vos amis pour venir pour les événements et à venir pour les événements que vous souhaitez, quand vous voulez et autant de fois que vous voulez.

Pour certains événements je suis toujours à la recherche d'un peu d'aide pour les organiser, en particulier la grande guivre de la jungle étant donné que personne ne peut commander l'événement avec moi. Si quelqu'un connait ce qu'il faut faire et voudrait m'aider c'est avec plaisir. Et peut-être que nous pouvons faire une grande guivre de la jungle avec un commandant en anglais, quelqu'un en français et quelqu'un en allemand ou dans une autre langue :D. J'ai aussi besoin de bloqueurs d'oeufs pour l'événement mais on verra s'il y a assez de personnes pour faire l'événement.

S'il n'y a pas assez de personnes pour certains événements ils seront changés pour des plus petits événements donc ne vous inquiétez pas il y aura des événements pour tout le marathon.

To give you a bit more informations about the special events that will be in our guild hall:

The Zombie Maze Survival is a game in which there is a maze in the guild hall arena with a lot of deathly traps. You have to be the last alive while all the death people come and join the side of the primary zombie. Thank you WoodenPotatoes for the fun event idea.

The Giant hide and seek is a game where you simply have to hide in our guild hall.

The Bump War is a game in the guild hall arena where you have to bump the other players outside of the arena with a big hole at the center. Thank you Kor Skarn for this great event idea.

The King of the hill is a game where you have to be the last of an arena in our guild hall that is getting smaller and smaller by throwing water bombs at others.

The Quiz with gw2 screens is a game where you have to find where the screen was taken in guild wars 2.

The Quaggan Ball is a game in the guild hall arena where two teams have to bump a quaggan in the goal. Thank you Erza from TxS for this nice idea.

Le "Zombie Maze Survival" est un jeu dans lequel il y a un labyrinthe dans l'arène du hall de guilde avec beaucoup de pièges mortels. Black Lion Claim Ticket Scraps drop got a hefty nerf with this Wintersday chest update (data from >500 chests)

The good news is: The reason you barely get scraps from BL chests anymore is not because of your pure bad luck

The bad news is: The drop rate for scraps went down by almost 25%

Before this seasonal chest update the chance to get a ticket scrap from a chest was 38,6%. I got this number from the Wiki page for BLC drop rates.

For the Wintersday chests I compiled the numbers from youtube videos, reddit threads and comments about BLC openings. With 517 chests I think the number is pretty representative.

In total thats 72 scraps from 517 chests, meaning a 13,9% drop chance.

TL;DR: Drop chance for a scrap per chest went from 38,6% to 13,9%. Before you had to open in average 26 chests to get one ticket (from 10 scraps), now it's 72 chests.

Koda's Warmth and Wintersday?

I was just doing the Winter Wonderland JP and noticed I was only getting 10% karma gain. I checked into my stats in the hero panel, and it only shows 10% from AP rewards and whatever else, it isn't counting the 15% from Koda's Warmth that I have equipped.

I also checked into it just in DR, and it still showed only 10% in my hero panel. I guess I've never noticed before since I went for the item for the glow effect rather than the karma boost, but is this item glitched?

How is the leveling population?

I haven't played GW2 since GW2 first came out and I'm wanting to get back into it. The only other MMOs I've played have been WoW and FFXIV. I'm aware of the questing differences, etc but how is the population while leveling? Is it about the same or even more dead while leveling since everyone is at max level?

And keep in mind I'll be mainly solo, so how are the events happening in the lower level zones, will I struggle to finish them with less people or is there still a healthy amount of players in the lower level zones to do these events?

I accidentally deleted my message after receiving my gift like a total idiot, but just want to say thank you to my Secret Santa for gifting me the Jack-a-lop and Golem minis to add to my collection! You really made my day, since I have been participating in Secret Toymaker for a while now and have received nothing until now.

On a side note, thanks to the Organizers for the Donation feature added this year. I do not really celebrate any holidays at this time of year and it really allows me to get into the holiday spirit.

Fastest Way to Level Up Without Buying Anything?

At this point, I just want to PvP. The main reason I do MMOs is to PvP. I'm so bored of doing quest after quest. I really do need to hit Level 80, though so I can do WvW. How do I go about doing this, preferably doing PvP?
