Do you think that the 5th game should focus on one major city, or explore a whole commonwealth that hasn't been ventured yet?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 06:14 AM PST

Hello wanderers!

Just seeing what you would all like to see in FO5. Personally I would like to explore an entire Commonwealth, the South East to be exact. There, you would have Atlanta and Charleston which would be cool to explore.

How many guns do you normally carry?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:15 AM PST

So I found myself carrying around 4-5 guns (2 small and then usually an automatic plus a sniper) and then a melee weapon as well. This is what I did in fallout 3 and 4. Just interested how many/what other players tend to carry when playing the vanilla game

I have 72 packs of unopened Fallout New Vegas CE playing cards. What do I do with these?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 07:49 AM PST

A few pictures: https://imgur.com/a/eEI6y (not all of them are pictured) I can take more detailed photos if needed. Anyways, back in 2010 I worked for a company that delivered promotional material like this to stores before a game release. These were left overs from one of the local Walmart stores and have been in my closet ever since. I found them today while cleaning. What should I do with these? I don't play Fallout and never have, so I figured you guys might have some suggestions.

EDIT: For the people asking if they can obtain a pack of these, I haven't decided what I'm going to do with them yet plus I don't want to break any rules of this subreddit. I'll update my post when I figure it out.

EDIT 2: Apparently these are "Vault Boy" cards and not "Collectors Edition", as pointed out below by user /u/Refloni. Thank you for the info! (I couldn't edit the title of the post, mods feel free to)

F4: What items do you wish existed in the game that dont

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 06:02 AM PST

Unless im wrong but ive looked it up to see of its out there and didnt see anything, optics. I really wish you could use optics that had different levels. Like basic binoculars that cant see too far and may be a little fuzzy, up to good ones, night vision binos, right up to super strong clear spotting scopes. The game is just so dark at times and has so much detail being able to sit back and crouch down at a safe distance from a location and figure out whats going on, where enemies are, see where doors are would be so helpful. I hope for my sake on getting blasted here im not wrong but maybe something like this does exist. Havent seen it yet though. Anything else you wish you could find and use for better tactics/realism?

Did Vault Tec drop the bombs?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:12 AM PST

Okay, I'll admit, the title here is a bit click-baity. I don't mean literally drop the bombs as in some jerk at Vault-Tec pushed the go button.

But to me Vault-Tec has always seemed shady, even shadier than what we already know. With their profiteering off of the war and the government basically giving them free reign with the experiments so long as they got people in vaults... is it possible that ultimately Vault Tec had some sort of influence over whether bombs fell or not?

I mean part of the Fallout mystery is that no one knows who shot first. And its fair to say high ranking people at Vault Tec would likely have cushy bunkers of their own safe and sound from both detonation and the riff raff

Plus, they knew if the bombs never fell their vaults would be huge wastes of time and money -- and they'd never see their experiments come to pass.

Again, I'm not suggesting someone at Vault Tec had their finger on the trigger. But do you think maybe they eased the process along -- a few bribes here and there, a few sly whispered words, some rumors or hacked intel or fake whistleblowers, maybe even a healthy dose of treason/espionage/collaboration with the enemy, or what have you?

I'm genuinely curious how others feel about this.

Apologies in advance for typos, its 4am and im on my phone.

First playthrough of Fallout 4... i have a couple of questions thou

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 02:54 PM PST

well i was a big fan of Fallout 3 (and all the DLC), i really enjoy it.

Now that i finally could buy a PS4, i decided to buy F4, really cheap (WINNING) and well... i've never played with mods on any fallout game so what does the voice of experience (yeah, you guys...) recommend me?? should i finish a playthrough without MODS? or there's a mod that could enhance my experience with the game?

i've already started a game so, if i install a Mod, does my save will be deleted or something?

if you can advise me in this matter would be awesome...

Fallout: Frozen Wasteland

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 09:05 AM PST

I would love to see a Fallout game based in a frozen wasteland. I am guessing Alaskan, Antarctic, somewhere cold and unforgiving. In a game like this, warmth is your biggest need. There would be blizzards, making it seemingly impossible to see, so you would have to wait them out (by normal Fallout measures like sleeping/waiting). I have so many ideas for Fallout games it is probably worrying. Let me know your ideas, and how I could improve this one!

Should Fallout ever return to the Midwest?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 08:44 AM PST

Bethesda has said that fallout tactics is not canon, so we can forget about the calculator and the hairy deathclaws. However, this gives them the opportunity to make another game there. It would be very interesting since lore could literally be re written. What do you guys think? Is fallout tactics lore ok? Should it stay, or be written anew?

Fallout 4 mention of dogtooth tribe?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 02:04 PM PST

I saw in a loading screen in fallout 4 with a quite cool looking PA ish helmet and a mention about dogtooth tribe.. What's that about?

Also. Isn't there a way to show items with like tabs for each category? I've seen that with one tab having a star icon so it filters all legendaries. Anyone know the name of such a mod?

Fallout 4: Question about Order of DLC and Main Story

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 07:27 AM PST

I was just wondering what the best order to play Fallout 4 would be. I have the season pass and have just defeated Kellogg. I was curious as to what the best way to play the rest of the game would be. Do I finish the main storyline and then go to DLC? Or do I mix DLC in with the main story? Thanks!

Vault 92 meets Vault 95/106

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 11:50 AM PST

I've been playing Wolfenstein: The New Order recently, and the music in the game gave me an idea. What if Vault-Tec decided to do a few more experiments on musicians, but instead of trying to turn them into super soldiers they fill the artists full of chems to see what they come up with. They could either have the chems readily available, or they could pump them into the ventilation/have them in the food.

Admittedly, my main reason for thinking of this vault idea is because I would love to see more music genres in the game. I love the soundtracks as they are, but with FO4 introducing new in-house produced music the sky is the limit. An experiment like this would allow a lore friendly way to introduce some of the more experimental style music from the 60s and let it evolve for 200 years.

Plus, I feel Raider Radio could have used some chemmed out raiders playing sludge metal.

Lagging and freezing after latest update

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 08:04 AM PST

So my PS4 downloaded the new update 1.20 yesterday. Well since then the quicksave time is long, like 5 minutes if it will go back to the game at all. Autosaves can totally freeze the game completely. I have noticed some major clipping going on as well. Anybody else experiencing similar issues? Wonder what I can do to remedy this?

Minimum specs for a Fallout 4 VR machine?

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 10:40 AM PST

I have a work computer at home that I have been running F4VR on. It's fine, but it only has a pair of GTX 770's and my kids's can't play on it while I'm working, so I am finding myself in need of a new desktop primarily for F4VR. While I assume a GTX 1070 is going to be the minimum for a gpu, what do you guys suggest the rest of an economical VR build should look like? Any pre-built's I should look at?

Companions Coming With Legendaries

Posted: 14 Dec 2017 01:05 PM PST

After starting a new play through, I got Cait. However, her weapon of choice seemed a little off. When I checked, she had a explosive sub machine gun. It wasn't spray n pray. It was just some random sub machine gun she got once I used her a bit. I was just wondering how did she get this weapon. She also had 5mm rounds to use it with.
