To new players: “Yes, for really real you can play how you like for 95% of the game”

Ok, so I have a ton of characters, been playing since beta etc.etc. and I just want to make it clear as it comes up SO often, "yes, you can play as you like for the vast majority of the content in ESO".

What I mean is, in levelling, PvP, dungeons (even most veteran ones) you can be that weird combo of your favourite race, wielding whatever you want, with pretty much whatever skills float your boat.

I also want to confirm that even on the top top end, the difference between which mundas stone,race selection and even top 5-10 gear combos is minimal. Your skill with the rotation will more than make up the 1-5% damage differences we are talking about.

My Magicka DK for PvP, Silks of the sun + Vicious death, bomber build without detonation. Leaping in and exploding zergs is so incredibly fun! Can 1v1 decent, 1vx decent....far from most effective but incredibly fun overall. Don't even have "golded" out gear yet...doesn't REALLY matter. If I wanted to be emperess...maaaybe it would matter (not really tho, as it requires the whole team to coordinate, not 1 person).

Overall, great job ESO dev team, this is a great design feat and it makes it so much more enjoyable to so many more players because of it. I am not chasing "THE" helm, or weapon...or at least i don't have to to enjoy the game.

What are the Stupidest Things You've Done in ESO?

I am nowhere as near as experienced as many people on this sub, but I have over 100 hours across several characters, and I like to think I now have a good idea of the mechanics, the end-game builds I want, etc. But... I have been carrying around my Sealed Urn all this time. On all my characters.

While struggling with the limited inventory. While having poorly geared characters until they could reach the bank.

For some reason, I read the description and assumed it contained my ashes, or soul, or maybe it was even a quest item! Maybe some mythical "carry this for an achievement" like the Half Life gnome thing. It was only after the recent Dungeon Finder Mystery Box event I realized some items work as boxes. The spine of suspicion raised, I Googled "eso sealed urn"... and found out it was a container of helpful stuff for beginners. Maybe the box scales with your level, because the gear wasn't that bad in stats. But since I already have matching sets for most of my alts, everything went straight to my blacksmith to deconstruct and research. It would have been much more helpful 90 hours ago.

This feels almost as stupid as the time I played Warframe using only my ability for almost 50 hours, because I didn't know how to trigger the other 3 abilities. Since stupidity loves company, what's the most stupid thing you've done in ESO?

[PS4] Man, I have missed this game!

Ran into some serious money troubles shortly before Morrowind released on consoles, forcing me to cancel my monthly subscription (free crowns and that crafting bag!!).

Now I'm back and upgraded with the Morrowind chapter. Somethings have changed. Somethings are the same. Regardless. I have truly missed playing ESO!!

My old guide seems to have vanished, yet all the items in the guild bank are still there! I have thousands of gold sitting in my bank to get my new magicaka templar going. Morrowind is beautiful. I missed that feeling of leveling. Now, off to get my crafting certifications in order so I can daily writs again.

Good to be back!

I main a magicka warden and for the first time tonight I hit 30k on a parse with just ele drain for my custom build.

New to ESO, what should I spend the 500 free crowns on and why?

I consider buying the starter pack or a pet. But don't want to make a mistake there. I aim to be a ranger/assassin combination with dagger and bow. Thieving etc. Maybe this could be of influence.

Edit: man what a nice community! Thanks for all the help. I decided to save the crowns for possible dlc discounts. I managed to find Breda on foot :)

I got a lvl 4 bow and tunic with 7% exp on it and found Breda for the exp boost drink. Where should I get better gear and should I do the event questline first?

Okay here's the deal. I'm a Templar Healer CP 250 and I am trying to get a few upgrade pieces of SPC gear from Vet White Gold Tower.

I que'd for the specific dungeon and instantly got kicked after joining the dungeon. This happened two more times for a total of three times.

Here's the funny part.. I que'd a fourth time and it joined me into the last group that had just kicked me moments before!

For details, two DPS were CP 690 and the tank was 500. Long story short, we got through the entire dungeon with 1-2 wipes on the final boss. But regardless we did it and all went our own ways.

My point is, please don't instant kick based off of CP alone. Some players, like myself, need to get gear and the only way to get it is through doing specific dungeons.

TLDR; got kicked from a dungeon 3 times and rejoined one of the parties that kicked me but we completed it in the end.

Not bought the game yet, though already made a post on the ESOGuilds sub and decided to go the PC route since they told me there that would be the best deal around in terms of addons.

On to that what would be the best way to get full into the game? Gold Edition ($40) + Morrowind Upgrade ($60) or Standard Edition ($20) + Morrowind Upgrade ($60) or Morrowind Full ($80)

Does Gold Edition come with anything not available another way?

Help a guy getting started in PvP

Hey guys I got a few questions regarding a build and some general PvP stuff. I grinded out my first PvP character during the event and he is now lvl 50.

Firstly I would like to use this build from Alcast. I know it's not ideal for beginners and probably sets me up for a rough start but it looks super fun and I don't mind getting dunked on the first couple hours. So I here I go with some questions:

  • I am running pretty much the same setup as in the guide with morag tong and marksman. However I run Kraghs 1 piece and I have a Nirnhoned bow so I have lower penetration than Alcast with sharpened but much higher weapon damage. Should I switch to penetraion Mundus to make up for it or what penetraion value should I aim for in PvP?

  • Why is he not using Piercing Mark on the front bar to make use of the Assasination passives Hemorrhage and Pressure Points I know he wants draining shot in case somebody gets close to him but if I run the Dressing Room addon I can switch skill setups with 1 button press so I could switch on the fly?

  • Another question about Piercing Mark, if I have it on the frontbar can I use it while the first lethal arrow is in the air to get Major Fracture on that first arrow? Obviously the enemy would get a hint because he gets the debuffs but if I time it right he shouldn't have more reaction time?

  • When exactly can the enemy see me? When I fire the first arrow or when the first arrow hits? Or am I already visible when I apply Piercing Mark?

A breakdown of which ambassador got pelted with the most mudballs. Anecdotally, I think it's the DC guy because it seems like everyone hits him whenever I'm there. I like hearing him whine about his stupid doublet, lol.

Hello there, First, sorry for my bad english it's not my native language.

So the Steam Sale will hit us in 3 Days and i'm pondering of buying TESO Tamriel Unlimited if its price is reduced. But like John Snow I know nothing ( about this game).

  1. With which famous MMORPG can I compare TESO?
  2. I read sth about crafting and jobs. Is it like the Jobs in WOW where you can level your skills and have to farm or grind for material? Are the things I can craft worth sth or is crafting just a waste of time?
  3. Does the Lv system work the same as in a normal TES game. Gaining Lv's bei using skills? Or are there EXP ?
  4. What is the highest LV of the game? How much time does it need to reach the highest LV.
  5. End game content: Is it worth playing the game with max level? is there something like the spiral of loot [ sry word by word german translation) where you grind raids for better lot.
  6. Are there even Raids in this game?
  7. A friend of mine maybe will buy the game too. Can we play everything together? I think there are Factions which you have to choose from?
  8. Can i have more than one Character?

Any good "general purpose" Mag build for PvP, that works for all classes?

So, in the last few weeks I've been doing a lot of PvP to farm some crystals, like I think many are. Though I'm not very competitive, I don't want to be a PvP potato and die from one hit, so I always have at least some PvP gear to put on.

Thing is, for my Stamina characters, Shacklebreaker (5 heavy) + Agility + Troll King/Selene's + 2h vMA + Infused Master Bow has been working wonders. I mostly use the same setup in every class, with a few class skills here and there. I can get decent burst and survivability, at least enough to get my 25k AP for the current campaign and then have some fun for a little bit (I almost always end up playing until I hit Tier 3 with that class). Poison Injection to proc the bow + Crit Rush with Nirn vMA Greatsword then Reverse Slice is really powerful in all classes.

But I'm yet to find a similar build for my magicka characters. I want something that would work fairly well on all mag classes without too much investment, so I could use just one gear for everyone.

Anyone knows of a good general purpose Mag build for PvP?

I was thinking Fortified Brass (5 light) + Willpower + something damage, with a vMA Powered Resto back bar to help with sustain and healing, but I haven't seen that a lot except in some MagPlar builds...

Magicka sorc - stacking damage

So my character's a magicka sorcerer and I reach about 12k dps with Julianos + overwhelming/spinner (rotation between them, but its about the same damage) + molag kena shoulders. I use a lightning staff with weapon damage enchantment and the main dps abilities are liquid lightning, blockade of storms, crystal fragments and force pulse. After buff I reach about 4000 weapon damage. Any way I can stack more damage, to reach 15k-20k? maybe abilities/sets? Help will be appriciated :D

I've literally just downloaded and know i want to make a DK. with the current state of the game should i go mDK or sDK? And which race will be best for pvp content? I read argonian sDK is great and dunmer mDK is good. I was thinking orc for sDK just because of my orc master race in skyrim

Hello, I'm rather new, bough the game(preordered) and haven't played for almost never since a few months back, and even now I play only on weekends,

Made a DE Sorc, and now I am 305CP, bu I still have julianos 40cp and shaklebreaker 2 piece,.. now ... how much would be for a full julianos 160cp, or any other variants that acomplish the same thing? I mostly PVE

Quick question about the Vet system

I just hit 50 and I'm enjoying the bonus exp.

When I did, though, I jumped straight up to vet level 10?

Didn't figure it would progress so fast but with dungeon/quest exp, the 'enlightenment' and bonus exp maybe so.

Is this normal?

If so, when does it slow down?
