Purposeful de-ranking and boosting of ELO of top ranked players. Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:55 AM PST I just wanted to reach out and inform everyone about the alternate account ELO boosting that some of the highest ranked PC players have been doing, most of them from the clan Destined. Antagonize (Antagonize#1538), Relic (Relic#12752), Panduh (Panduh#11280), and Fox (Fox#14999), four out of the top ten players (And even more players in their Clan) on PC have all been engaging in alternate account de-ranking and then purposeful boosting of their own accounts ELO rating as seen on Destinytracker and Guardian.gg What they do specifically is purposefully de-rank alternate accounts, and then have other members of their Clan (Destined) play on these alternate accounts alongside the players I pointed to above (Antagonize, Relic, Panduh, Fox) in order to boost their overall ELO. I have proof from one of the Administrators of Destined, and you can see for yourself just by checking those four players accounts that they all engage in these activities. Here are the private messages between them and one of my players: Here are two videos of them engaging in and talking about this deranking: Here is a list of some of the accounts that they use for this process, even doing it while streaming on Twitch.tv:
This really makes it so that the players who are actually working very hard towards this kind of thing are turned off from it in general when players like that do things to ruin the integrity of it. Hopefully this is enough information about what they are doing. I know it's a long read, but I really appreciate you looking through it. I just want to keep the Destiny community clean of this type of thing. -Mellow [link] [comments]

I got Ophidian Aspect 7 times in a row from powerful gear Posted: 28 Dec 2017 02:00 AM PST This has to be a bug. I have gotten nothing else from powerful gear other than Ophidian Aspect. I either get a random legendary or an exotic and every exotic has been Ophidian Aspect. And 7 times in a row cannot be a coincidence. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 11:52 AM PST There has been A LOT of negativity toward Bungie lately, some of it deserved, and some of it over blown. While I think it is important to let Bungie know when they've done wrong, it is equally important to let them know when they've made a positive move, if not simply for kindness and recognition, then to let them know what we do like. After having spent the last couple weeks with it, I gotta say, masterworks are an incredible step forward, and in more ways than one. There are three things about them I want to call out and give Bungie a round of applause for:
Let me elaborate on each. THE LOOT SYSTEM: So, I try to stay positive about D2, but before masterworks, the loot eco-system was fundamentally broken in a way that was honestly quite shocking. The entire system revolved around legendary engrams. Everything in the game gave you tokens. Strikes, chests, lost sectors, public events, everything. And the only thing you could get with these was legendary engrams. Unlike the multi-faceted systems you see in other loot grinders involving multiple currencies, crafting mats, and different types of rewards, everything in D2 collapsed back to legendary engrams. The problem with this was that no one wanted them. After about 2-3 weeks of play, maybe more for a very casual player, everyone had everything. Legendaries were 100% useless. Because the loot eco-system was a house of cards based around legendaries, it collapsed. There was no reason to do anything. All the beautiful activities they created evaporated. It ate the game. But in one fell swoop, masterworks fixed all of that. They didn't just introduce a new type of loot, by having it drop from legendaries, it repaired the entire eco-system. Now I want tokens. All of them. From anywhere. All of a sudden I'm playing the game as intended, happily bouncing around from public events, to strikes, to crucible matches, to lost sectors. Its great. I'm excited for loot, and I'm finally using all the activities, so the game feels rich and engaging. Of course, it wouldn't matter if the masterwork system was bad. But they nailed that too, which leads me to: GOOD RNG: There is an art to rng, and I'm surprised it took Bungie this long to nail it. Exotic engrams are currently the worst implementation of RNG I have ever seen. No joke, I actually get annoyed when I get an exotic engram at this point. Masterworks do it perfectly. The difficulty with RNG loot is the balancing between giving people the fun gambling effect of random loot, but not making it demoralizing and abusive. One simple way of doing this is bifurcating the system, and allowing you to randomly roll exactly what you were looking for, but providing a NON rng path to the same goal if you keep getting screwed. And they finally nailed it. Masterworks are delightfully rare, and I as SUPER psyched when I get one. When I pulled a crucible masterwork Urials Gift I was ecstatic. BUT, I'm never bummed when I get a masterwork I don't want, or a duplicate. That's just more cores to allow me to craft one I want. Perfect. They also nailed the rarity and cost. It takes me awhile to amass 10 cores and when I was finally able to masterwork my The Number (I actually prefer that to Urials for pvp, call me crazy), it felt amazingly rewarding, because it was hard. But not TOO hard. I love it. This is the feeling we've been looking for. I feel like my guardian is special and unique, and I look back at my grind for my perfect weapon as enjoyable. Bungie, I cannot stress this enough: THIS IS THE MODEL TO USE MOVING FORWARD. Baffling that you didn't do this from the get go, but that's a discussion for a different time. Once again, all of the good work they did fixing the economy and nailing RNG systems would be meaningless if the items themselves weren't fun. But they are! MASTERWORKS THEMSELVES: Nice work Bungie! They're...really OK! This is the one part where I want to give Bungo a solid high five, but can't quite give an unqualified round of applause. Look, I think they're great. Its a nice, meaningful little stat boost that doesn't break crucible. That's actually really hard to do when you think about it. The orbs things is great and was a really clever addition. Tracking kills, especially for crucible is awesome. I love watching that number click up, and I'm honestly quite proud to show it off. I hope people inspect me and cower ;). Buuuuuuuuuut they could be a little more...exciting. Maybe a visual aura? Or more pronounced bonuses in PvE only? But I don't want to overshadow the praise. You did good Bungie. Real good. Soup to nuts. Keep adding more content like this and you're going to have a hell of game that I will happily play for years. Bungo, if there is one thing I hope you take away from this, it is this: people want to play your game, you just need to give them something to play for. We want to feel special, we want to feel unique, and we want to feel like those who put in the effort have cool loot to show for it. This was a huge HUGE step in that direction, and we thank you. Keep it up! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:20 AM PST Just finished downloading. When I leave work it's gonna be on like Donkey Kong. I typically play based on agility and speed. However, everything I've read seems to point to one idea. The Hunter is trash. I wanted to get some feedback from players who have had it since launch. How has actual game play been with the class? I apologize in advance if there is a post about this already. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:10 AM PST Has anybody noticed that in the lore tab of the hunter Exotic graviton forfeit states this..... " Just sit down and think about what you're doing. A big white ball rebuilt you from nothing. Guided your civilization. Transformed you. Didn't tell you why, did it? Doubt it mentioned the omnipotent space anathema that's coming to kill you and your dog and your whole soccer club, either, but what's a little xenocide between friends? Maybe you don't care. A gun never stops and wonders if things are more complicated. It just shoots. It's also possible that I'm just trying to get inside your head. You're a hero with a cape and a gun and a bike. You're gonna live forever. Who's got time for doubt? Fight the "Darkness"! Yeah! You know what I'd call "dark," in the sense of "grim," in the sense of "cosmically upsetting"? A universe full of weaponized puppets, enacting a genocidal war against the servants of a rival god. Is this making you uncomfortable? I'm sorry. I'll be more evil. Boo. Grrr. I find his incredibly interesting as it referenced the darkness from a different from a sort of 3rd party point of view. It also references guardians as weaponized puppets with guns and capes. This 3rd party also refers to the enemy factions as worshippers of a rival god. This almost seems like lore from destiny 1 in the sense that the darkness is the main god of all the enemy races. Finally it mentions he omnipotent space antathema which I can guess is the darkness and maybe those triangle ships? I don't really know what to make of this please let me know if you are interested in this because this is the most interesting lore I have seen in destiny 3 yet. [link] [comments]
Problems opening the game on PS4 Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:23 AM PST I got the free trial a few days ago and decided to buy the physical copy of the game. When I tried to start it said I needed to check for an update but upon doing saw that the software was up to date. As I can't open the game (it keeps on telling me to check for an update) what can I do to fix this? Or do I have to buy the dlc to make it work? [link] [comments]
Discussion/Suggestion: Bright Engrams for guided games Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:52 AM PST I was sitting around wondering how they could incentivize being a guide for nightfalls and the raid, and I think a bright engram for anyone who had queued as a guide at the end of the run would be about right. It solves two of the complaints people have at the same time. First, it would effectively become matchmaking, but with the clans reputation on the line when you queue as a guide (due to oathkeeper score) so it would hopefully not degrade the community the way random matchmaking does. With more clans queuing, seekers would pick the clans with a better rating first as well, and being helpful would become an important part of bright engram farming for clans. Second, people who want Eververse items but hate the microtransaction nickle-and-diming would have a different means by which they could, entirely in game, earn those items over time. I also like it because it doesn't give clans ANOTHER advantage over those who are in less active clans or solo when it comes to powerful gear. Instead, the rewards would be cosmetic. Thoughts? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:07 AM PST People who have completed the heroic mercury missions...did you do them alone or with a friend or two? I'm really struggling. I expected a challenge but I honestly can't even clear the first mob. Constructive advice is welcome. [link] [comments]

What end game activities would you like to see from D1 added to D2 Posted: 28 Dec 2017 12:55 AM PST Personally I would like to see bounties and heroic daily missions with modifiers brought back. I find the challeges and meditations to be boring and uninspiring so rarely do them. I would also like to see rep brought back and token use reduced. There was a sense of accomplishment when you got a rank of 30 in something. Finally I would like to see kiosks for ships and sparrows brought back and add to that a ghost shell kiosk as they are now collectables too. [link] [comments]

Why aren't there events in the infinite forest? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 11:36 PM PST It seems like such a waste of have the new content and not actually playing in it. Its a waste to be honest. I realize it'd have to be tweaked a bit. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:19 AM PST hi, noticed a lot of random people i run nightfall with have cool looking armor / shader combos. Meanwhile my Chars look like a random collection of junk. Most of thew time i notice the stats on recovery or resilience on the cool looking sets to be less though while i tried to minimize mobility as much as possible. I wonder if these mobility / recovery / resilience stats matter at all. [link] [comments]

Jeff Grubb on "game-rage opportunists" in YT Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:53 AM PST https://twitter.com/JeffGrubb/status/946428936929587200
TFA: https://venturebeat.com/2017/12/28/biscuit-fight-me-bench/ Reminds me a LOT of a certain "I Quit" review of CoO which came out even before all of CoO came out. Another quote worth reading:
xPosting it here as well because this will get down voted to hell and back in /r/DTG as a way to prevent a open discussion. [link] [comments]
Small Rant: No Desire to pick it back up. Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:53 AM PST So I picked up and beat Destiny 2. Just like the 1st one, I had a blast playing. Story was great, action was a blast, etc etc etc. However, once Osiris came out and the "paywall" came about, there was really no drive to pick it back up and play. Even after they corrected their mistake and opened everything back up I am finding it hard to justify spending the extra money and reinvesting my time. Sorry guys, but Im out. hopefully there is still some trade in value on the game. [link] [comments] |
