Patch Notes / Coming in 2018: Broomstick League

We hinted at this in the past, and now we're finally ready to talk more about it: Broomstick League, an intense sport of broomstick-based athletics is coming to Citadel in 2018! Once this new feature is added to the game you'll be able to assemble a team and challenge strangers and friends to a game of fast paced, adrenaline pumping wizardly athletics. (NOTE: Broomstick League is still very early in development. Mechanics and presentation are subject to change as we continue to work on the project.)



As the name implies, Broomstick League is played entirely while whizzing through the air on broomsticks. Teams compete to take control of the ball from their opponents with the objective of shooting it into the other team's net. While playing Broomstick League, players are granted unlimited flight within a certain radius of the play zone, allowing unhindered, high-flying mobility at all times.



Players are encouraged to coordinate their efforts by surveying the field, looking for openings, making daring passes, and shooting when the time is right. When the ball enters the opponent's net an explosive visual effect alerts everyone to your skills, the score counter is increased, and the ball is reset.



All the tools are provided to you as buildables: The nets and ball pedestals can be placed to your liking, and you can build your own arenas to accommodate your own playstyle or personal game types.

Since Broomstick League is still very much a work in progress, a lot of the finer details of how games are organized and how the mechanics are balanced are still being figured out. In the meantime, stay tuned here for more details as we're able to share them with you!

Patch Notes

Let's not also forget that today is Wednesday! As is the tradition, we have another new patch to share with you guys today. Today's patch is a minor patch, which means it is a little lighter than usual and more focused on bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. Take a look at the list below, and give your client and the servers a chance to fully update before attempting to hop back in game. Thanks for continuing to share feedback and support, and we'll see you all in Ignus soon!

  • Fixed chat mute option in social tab not working
  • Fixed an issue causing error messages when dropping items in air
  • Fixed a bug that caused the party HUD to get stuck on the screen
  • Fixed a bug causing some party members to not show on compass
  • Fixed a bug causing the Rune Recycle to to not work
  • Potential Fix: Fixed issue causing structure pieces to appear abandoned and decay when throned (share feedback if this issue persists)
