| Noob advice: Where do zombies spawn Posted: 27 Dec 2017 01:06 PM PST So, I'm a new player who just got the game over the holidays. Yay for Christmas zombies! I've run into a situation that has me concerned. After a few bad starts, I'm on day 2 of my latest game and holded up in an old house for the night. When clearing the place originally I made to much noise and woke up all the zeds, who chased me out of the house before I could put them down. When I went up to the second floor, more zeds including a fat guy... again I was chased outside before I could kill them with my bow. Third time entering a new one was sleeping right inside the hole in the wall I was using to go in and out of. He wasn't there before, I walked over that block a few times already. So my question being... Do zombies really spawn that quickly? Is there a minimum distance that they won't spawn in? Is this building even going to be safe to spend the night or will I wind up finding some spawning inside? For reference it's a large wood building, mostly open plan. Two stories though the second floor is only about 1/3 the floor space at most. I've knocked out all the glass windows of course and patched over them with wood blocks. I suppose in general the question is what are the conditions that will get zombies to spawn? Once I find a place to call home will I have to worry about zeds spawning inside my walls too? Most of the stuff on the wiki about spawning is talking about the heatmap and how it draws screamers and hordes. [link] [comments]  | ||

We have about six extra slots. We are looking for people interested in building and looting. You don't have to stick with the main group. We will be building a community base and then our own bases. This is a PVE server only. You must have Valmod Expansion and Valmod's bigger bag mod installed. We have a discord server but voice chat isn't at all required, just encouraged! | Nvidia 388, FPS drops if I alt-tab to desktop Posted: 27 Dec 2017 08:34 PM PST It had been a long time since I updated my Nvidia drivers (maybe before 378) and finally updated them to 388. Normally I am chugging away fine 60-80 FPS @ 1440p but when I return to the game after alt-tabbing to the desktop, they are in the low teens. They will stay that way until I fully shutdown the game and restart it (simply exiting to the menu and returning does not fix it). Also when I first start a new world it will be low frames until I restart the game. I can't seem to figure out the problem, nor do I want to rollback drivers because other games are running so much better on 388. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Farms seem pointless, possible bug? Posted: 27 Dec 2017 07:28 AM PST I'm not sure if its just a bug for me or not but farms seem completely pointless on Xbox one. I get literally One single thing per plant. Such as 1 ear of corn which of course can be turned into one single seed to replant or eaten, so whats the point of it. -edit- I have been planting on tilled ground. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 27 Dec 2017 05:58 PM PST Considering how expensive they are to make and maintain I feel that it really sucks that the blade traps will crop the legs off Zombies then they just crawl away taking no more damage. If I join a server and start building a base/leveling up, etc., will I be able to access said server again the next time I log on? If so, do they ever get "reset"? I have to get at very random angles to be able to pick things up. For instance, I can stand directly above a small stone and look directly at the center, but can't access it.
