[Spoilers] Lightscale Trident/Mipha's Pedestal

Posted: 16 Nov 2017 06:38 AM PST

Hi guys. So I completed the Ceremonial Trident shrine quest. No problems. But afterward Trello said something about Mipha's statue standing on a similar pedestal, and that it needed to be hot with the Lightscale Trident. He said that locals had tried it but it must take the efforts of a champion. I've tried this...from as high up as the fish's tail hanging over the statue. Nothing. Am I missing something?

some thoughts regarding the legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: the Champions Ballade

Posted: 16 Nov 2017 04:46 AM PST

[Unpopular opinion] I do not want anymore open world Zelda games.

Posted: 16 Nov 2017 08:18 AM PST

Breathe of the Wild was a FANTASTIC game do not get me wrong. However it doesn't have the heart other Zelda games have. With other Zelda games there's memorable moments, characters, things going on. The new Zelda just feels like a very good open world game, but not enough Zelda. It's all gameplay, barley any story. Zelda always felt like you were going through this crazy adventure. The way I feel is they did their open world Zelda game, now go back to how Zelda games are supposed to be. I'm so worried they're going to just continue this open world scheme and Zelda will lose it's meaning. The story in Zelda games are always so fascinating so for them to basically get rid of it is sad. If this is the only open world game they do perfect, but if they continue this trend I'm going to be really upset.

Guide to taking good close up compendium photos of lynels

Posted: 16 Nov 2017 07:42 AM PST

You may or may not have noticed that the compendium pictures are shared among save files. If you take a new picture, it gets replaced across ALL your save files (unless you purchased the picture from Symin in that save file). Knowing this, there is an easy way to take good close up pictures of lynels:

1) Go to a location near a lynel you want to photograph

2) Take a picture of the lynel from a safe distance - it does not have to be a good picture, the intention is to have a placeholder picture to replace later

3) Save the game

4) Approach the lynel and take better and better pictures as you approach

5) Eventually the lynel will spot you and reach for its weapons - once it starts attacking you, taking pictures will become dangerous and difficult, but you can try

6) Run, kill, or be killed

7) Regardless of the outcome of step 6, if you reload the game from the save you made in step 3, you will have the latest picture you took in step 5

I personally prefer pictures where the lynel is in the middle of the picture, facing me, with the bow drawn (but not yet pointed at me). This makes for a nice 3/4 view photo.

As a cross promotion the Splatoon Inklings, Shovel Knight, and Roy Are on their way to smash Wii U and NX. The NX itself It's a dual screen hybrid console with more power than the XboxOne and will only cost $199! More updates soon!

So I finally beat the original LoZ second quest....

Posted: 15 Nov 2017 04:44 PM PST

Crazy how difficult it was. I have the original quest pretty much burned into my brain, as I played it for hours and hours as a child, and I can still beat it 100% in about an 1.5 hours today. For whatever reason, I never went on to play the second quest, until now. I totally cheated, I used guides often and utilized the 'create restore point' feature on the WiiU regularly, and it was STILL crazy hard. I can't imagine beating this with no help, it would takes weeks, maybe even months. Anyways, just felt like sharing, despite the fact that i totally cheated, it was still really neat to experience the second quest for the first time.

My Sheikah simulation theory within Zelda. !!!This post contains spoilers for Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and Breath of The Wild!!!

Posted: 15 Nov 2017 01:15 PM PST

First, I'm not a Zelda lore expert by any means so this may not hold water, sorry. This theory is pretty radical and will possibly mess with the established timeline if true.

To understand this theory, first you must understand what the simulation theory of existence is. In a nutshell, the simulation theory, or hypothesis, or argument, is that we aren't actually living in a real world. We're living in a simulation of what we think the real world is. There isn't any way we can tell that we are not in a simulation, because if the creator of our simulation has enough power to create a simulation, it's reasonable that our creator has enough power to hide the fact that we live in a simulation. If you're still lost, here is a video that explains the simulation hypothesis better than I can. https://youtu.be/tlTKTTt47WE

My theory uses Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and Breath of The Wild. Twilight Princess was the first Zelda title (to my knowledge) to introduce a tech theme to the Zelda franchise.

When creatures from the twilight realm die, they burst into pixelated dust and evaporate. Even the fight music with them is blatantly digitized. When fighting Zant, Zant is able to manipulate reality and produces sigils that resemble lines in electronic hardwire that connect components. Zant also teleports with a digitized blur and sound. In all, the twilight realm is pretty digital, do I need to mention the fluttering pixels all over the twilight realm?

Skyward sword isn't as involved in this theory as much, but has obvious ties to BoTW and ties to the origins of this theory. The Master Sword before becoming The Master Sword contained Fi, who speaks in a autotuned babble that translates into grammar an AI would use and often relies on percentages. Then there's Ghirahim the demon lord who is arguably similar to Zant or other Twilight Realm beings in the fact that he is pixelated albeit argyle pixels, quite stylish. He conjures creatures and other constructs with his argyle pixel magic. He also teleports or "blinks" short distances. In the final battle with Ghirahim, his voice becomes metallic, conjures an argyle pixel buster sword, and finally (with a delay) becomes the sword wielded by Demise. This leads me to believe that Fi and Ghirahim are opposing counterparts. One last Skyward bit is the mining facility and parts with the Lanayru desert where time is messed with. You manipulate time by flipping back and forth between the present and the distant past. The past contains highly advanced technology. So, there's definitely more to old Hyrule than just clearing out the clouds, yes before The Master Sword was The Master Sword.

Now to Breath of The Wild, shrines are weird...I'll amend that. EVERYTHING THAT IS SHEIKAH TECH IS WEIRD!!! BoTW throws it out there that the Sheikah have incredible technology. This technology was easily corrupted by Gannon, like he did in Twilight Princess. If you haven't put your tinfoil hat on yet, this is the part to do that. So how did the Sheikah get to this crazy level of technology? Were they flipping over to the twilight realm? Were they flipping over to the twilight realm to the time that existed in Lanayru that was ancient to Skyward Hyrule? I'm thinking it's something like that.

So the Sheikah were somehow able to become technological gods by creating the Divine Beasts, guardians, the ancient weapons, oh yeah and the Sheikah slate. Is slate not an understatement to describe it? It's one device that is capable of being a camera, holding almost anything in static movement, capable of using Magneto's powers, freezing water into one-story tall blocks, conjuring remote detonating bombs, and teleportation! Oh yeah, the shrines. That's what I meant to talk about first. What are the shrines? Sure there's an elevator that goes down into...where? These trial rooms that are pristine, sometimes contain organic enemies, often contain huge contraptions, contain mechanical enemies, contain hovering platforms, actual bottomless pits, and in all make Hyrule Castle or any other architecture in the entire Zelda universe look pathetic. Oh yeah, and you can't die inside them. You loose hearts to a point, but you'll never die. Hmm, a room accessed by the smartphone of the gods that often defies laws of physics and death. The shrines are simulations. That's what I'm saying guys. The Sheikah have created simulations. So, if a people are capable of creating a simulation room, what about a simulation world? Sounds like that is just a matter of processing power.

Okay, so what is a Sheikah slate really? They defy physics in so many ways it's just ridiculous. I don't think the slate is a natural item in Hyrule. I think it's the super lite free version of the Sheikah simulation interface without ads. It can hold a white lynel still long enough to yawn before delivering a staggering arrow shot to the face. Oh, now that I've stepped on that subject try and experiment for me please. Shoot a lynel, or just any enemy that isn't Sheikah with an ancient arrow. Did you see what happened? No? I'll show you.

https://youtu.be/WT7feeAYDdQ Poof! It's gone! No I didn't make that video. If I did I would have made the link into a pretty hyperlink but I'm not that good with computers or interwebs, this is written in a smart phone. I will say that I just poofed a lynel from existence near the Eldin Great Skeleton to prove the video I just pasted in to myself. So ancient arrows, made by Sheikah, or Sheikah tech anyway, just poof normal world creatures from existence? Guts, bony parts, weapons, and all just gone. Kinda like it was deleted! Ancient arrows are Hyrule delete buttons! So Sheikah tech is kinda confirmed to me that BoTW is one big Sheikah simulation.

Gannon still has power to corrupt the Sheikah tech though! Your theory was broken in one sentence! No, it just got reinforced. Fi is still in The Master Sword. Some cutscenes with Zelda and completing the sword trials confirm this when The Master Sword glows and sounds just like it did in Skyward Sword when Fi was about to talk to Skyward Link. Ghirahim is Fi's opposite. Ghirahim belongs to Demise, or Ganon...the main bad guy in the entire series. So, Gannon was able to corrupt the Sheikah tech because he had the ability to, as I theorize, go to the Twilight Realm and possibly to the time that existed before Skyward and develope methods to hack the Sheikah tech similarly to the way he corrupted the Twilight Realm in the past. At least something to that effect. He has Ghirahim, he's been to the Twilight Realm and caused chaos. It's not his first rodeo.

Of course, how the Sheikah tech was developed is basically unknown. How Ganon corrupted the Twilight Realm is more or less unknown. If the time before Skyward Hyrule has anything to do with it all is unknown.

What I do know is that Sheikah tech is very likely to be controlling BoTW Hyrule as in, it's all simulated. I'm not saying this theory extends to any other title but BoTW, but I am trying to infer where Sheikah tech originated from, and how Ganon also has power to control some of the simulated world -- blood moons restoring his baddies -- and corrupt the some Sheikah tech such as the Divine Beasts and guardians.

What do you think? Viable? Or did somebody else already propose this theory? I haven't spent much over about two hours coming up with this and writing it.
