| Posted: 17 Nov 2017 07:57 PM PST SmiteGuru: http://smite.guru/profile/pc/MeowgiMan Just started playing Smite again, I've taken on and off breaks so climbing back up to high elo can be rough but I have found that Fenrir is the best god in the jungle to carry games, I'm currently 20-4 (83% win rate, 3 of these losses came from disconnections on my team, which is a serious problem in this game). His ability to carry games in low elo comes from a few different reasons. His early game is monstrous, his boxing potential with his brutalize is gross and pretty much destroys any other jungler early game 1v1 besides maybe Thanatos (if he silences your brutalize) and Thor (stuns brutalize pretty easily) For being a super strong early game God, he is surprisingly effective late game. I favor building tank after Jotunn's and Void Shield, this shifts his roll from a backline assassin to a frontline who can cc and singly out enemy carries. A lot of times players will make the mistake of focusing the "assassin" without realizing how tanky you've become. To maximize Fenrir's potential early, you skip leveling his Seething Howl (2) entirely until you can't put a point into anything else. I also favor only putting 1 point into his ult and maximizing my Brutalize (3) and then Unchained (1) Fenrir's ultimate ability is extremely easy to counter whether you have a purification beads or a CC cleansing ultimate, but where Fenrir shines is after an enemy god has used these cooldowns. Jumping on a Poseidon, Janus, Raijin, etc with a stun and then instantly using your ultimate to combo with your team is the definition of a free kill and will result in a high percentage of the enemy team claiming your God is broken. Now onto his changes: Unbound Runes(Passive): This Passive no longer effects Seething Howl Seething Howl: No Longer Consumes Runes from Unbound Runes Many players have heard of this change and tried telling me that it's actually a nerf to Fenrir, which they couldn't be any more wrong, the only downside to this change is Fenrir's ability to tank objectives such as Gold Fury and Portal Demon mid game but isn't that big of a problem because Seething Howl without the runes bonus is still okay. Another issue that arises is that you can't use your rune activated seething howl before a brutalize so the damage isn't as high. Although this makes sense on paper, and should be considered a weakness, it is very rare that you should ever be using a rune activated seething howl before a brutalize. The reason behind this is that you don't level your seething howl early whatsoever and even if you did, how are you going to gap close with your unchained (1) without 5 stacks of your ruins, then somehow get to the 5 stacks before you brutalize , it's an extremely unlikely scenario and it rarely ever happens. Also, the guaranteed auto's you get off of your stun (and team mate follow up) before you brutalize, matches if not beats the damage from a rune activated seething howl into brutalize. This change allows you to use the base seething howl before you jump stun into brutalize which is great mid to late game and an overall buff. Brutalize: Fenrir now gains bonus Physical and Magical Protections of 5 +1 per level while channeling this ability Wow, this is a change I did not expect to see. Fenrir is now even more of an early game menace and 100% outboxes everyone. There's not much to discuss about this change except that it makes him an even stronger early game jungler. Seething Howl: Increase Physical power from 10/25/40/55/70 to 20/25/50/65/80, increased Lifesteal from 30% to 35% So they implemented this change to make up for the loss of a rune activated seething howl. Pretty much makes any supposed nerf to him non-existent Ragnarok: Adjusted damage to be consistent increase per rank, Increase Attack Range from 12 to 15, Added Cone Targeter to this to more clearly show the range of the ability THANK YOU HIREZ PogChamp PogChamp PogChamp. I can't tell you how many times I've thought 100% surely I am in range to bite this target, and then turn around without realizing that the Janus I DEFINITELY grabbed is spamming VEL under turret. This should have been here since Fenrir was released. (Don't make the Fenrir isn't released jokes pls) Overall, I don't really think Fenrir is a top tier jungler now, but these changes definitely make him a lot more viable. | Best way to deal with Streamer "BM" Posted: 17 Nov 2017 07:20 AM PST Warning!!! Rant Post - Proceed with caution Now let's face it, if your not in the wood leagues, we've all been there. In high ranked, considering how small the player base is, you are going to get streamers and pro players in your games. And if you do poorly in a match, you will most likely get BM'd, it's the nature of the Smite community. The best solution is probably just to ignore or forget about it. But when other players are BM'ing you as a result of being BM'd by a streamer on stream, it becomes a problem. I'm a ranked conquest player in Diamond, and I usually just tune out any BM in general. We all have bad games. But when a streamer BM's you, especially when it's someone you regularly watch or are subscribed to, I can see why some of these streamers get the hate that they do. -"This guy is the reason we lost the game." --"This guy from last game, he's bad better watch out." ---"This guy needs to uninstall, and re-contemplate his existence." ----"I should of gotten the carry role, this guy lost us the game." Streamers 1) Not everyone is trying to get into your games 2) Not everyone is trying to snipe you 3) Stop victimizing yourselves 4) Stop blaming everything on other players Some of you may suggest anti-queue sniping, but it's almost impossible because of the fact that i'm already sitting in long queues. (some 10+ minutes) Or I could just sit in a dark corner and blast music into my ear, which is another solution, makes it difficult to think cohesively whilst doing that. I really wish a neuralyzer from Men in Black existed, than I could wonder why random people are whispering me to BM for no reason, why people in my ranked games are leaving me to die, and why I'm getting camped. Posted: 17 Nov 2017 09:15 AM PST I've played support in Smite since around Tyr release, but recently took a break because simply too many bullshit gods were being released and it wasn't fun anymore. Coming back, I see the recrudescence of tank meta and I have to roll my eyes at it, again, for what feels like the dozenth time. I've seen tank meta come and go many times, and it's always for the same reasons, with the same pattern. Hi-Rez literally cannot decide whether carries are supposed to do high amounts of damage or whether tanks are supposed to be invincible or not. When I started playing, hunters and assassins did insane amounts of damage because their items were so good. And tank items were far stronger than they are now, but it didn't matter because it all balanced out. And it was fun! There was legitimate tension when you were playing Vamana with a tank build battling with an assassin, both had kill potential on the other. Now everyone knows who is going to win the 1v1 between a warrior with boots and breastplate of valour and an assassin with boots and jotunn's wrath. Many people blame base damage numbers for being the problem, but it's simply the repeated nerfs of damage items and tank items that have even made base damage numbers relevant. Hunters are OP they cry, so their items are nerfed, then they cry that tanks are OP, so their items are nerfed, carry on perpetually for years. We made deathbringer less potent, time to nerf sovereignty, now Qins is too strong, we better nerf those, oh now we have to nerf sovereignty again etc. The reason we have had this unending cycle which has made base damage numbers so relevant is because of bad, whiny players such as Wolfy2020 (who has been getting shit on in competitive play for the entire history of competitive play), who can't accept when they lose a 1v1 that it might be their own bad mechanics and decision making that is to blame, not some externality. I'm pointing a finger here because no matter the meta this guy has been getting shit on FOR YEARS and complaining about it. He's complained about OP damage items, then OP defense items, and has been complaining about base damage now nauseatingly for months and months. There's something strangely idiotic about players such as Wolfy complaining after gettting soloed for the millionth time that "item x is too strong or base damage is too high" when such players have access to the exact same strategies. Another problem that has contributed to tank meta is that tanks used to HAVE to buy HoG to be able to do their roles in the side lanes. Many people forget that jungle camps have had their base numbers nerfed too. There is no decision-making in build paths anymore. There is no risking getting tier 3 HoG too late to get a blink early or an early sovereignty. There are no strategic battles over objectives, no teleport mind games, conquest has become just arena with a few more steps. Nobody who has played Smite for a long time and appreciates the game and it's mechanics wants it to become like League of Legends, where you spend half the game meticulously killing creeps and the thrill of the 1v1 is gone. Players like Wolfy who are steering the game in that direction, and have been for years, kindly fuck off and go play League. Smite is about the thrill of mechanics, of outplaying your opponent, and of mindgames and making CHOICES. Not killing creeps for the majority of the game because you can't make up your mind if carries are supposed to do damage or tanks are supposed to be invincible. [link] [comments] | ||

A lot of this is OPINIONATED. so if you agree or disagree, great. For me, this is a tier list from Viability from the assassins in the jungle. ( Somewhat in order, somewhat not ) Nemesis (which tbh is WAYYYYY ABOVE every assassin in the game,) Serq. Rat. Thor Awilix Fenrir (probably above thor in 4.22) Susano Ne zha Daji Camazotz Hun batz Than Kali Bakasura Loki Arachne Merc ( yes I am putting loki above merc, even though merc is probably one of my favorite assassins, He's garbo atm. ) Anyway, I feel as if more than 50% of the warriors are better in the jungle than half of the assassins. And I also feel as if it's not that warriors are broken it's that assassins Just suck. I feel like every warrior, man 'd even say most guardians could do better in the jungle, than most assassins. Warriors could EASILY, come right behind thor in terms of balance except for 4 which in my opinion are Tyr, Vamana, Nike, and Guan yu. Every one else other than those 4 are EASILY above thor which again. are not because warriors are broken but the rest of the assassins are just bad. And yet, I'm not even making this post to complain about assassins being bad, I feel like i said that they are a lot but, I just want the jungle changed. Went in conquest to play him in jungle again after a long time and in the game I got a really fat snipe on the enemy's Nemesis and she died. Later she killed me, and whispered me "sweet revenge" and we started chatting a little. Then we met up at our Purple Buff and we just jumped around there. Even more of my team members joined us and jumped and danced just for the laughs and just for the fun. After the game we still chatted and played some Joust until he needed to go to work. Just wanted to share this story, it's rare these days and really refreshing to experience the SMITE community this way. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 17 Nov 2017 11:07 AM PST So right now, ADCs start by themselves, have a red and purple buff, back camp, gold fury and oracles, and every wave to themselves most of the time. They also start with Bumba's Mask which will give them 4 additional gold when clearing a jungle camp. You could argue that the solo side has just as much farm, but they will be splitting most camps there and solo laners don't hyper carry late game like ADCs. ADC items, such as Devourer's Gauntlet, seem too cheap for how much solo farm they get. 2000 gold for a stacking item which provides 65 physical power and 24% physical lifesteal when fully stacked just seems to good to not get. The price increase on Executioner and Titan's Bane with this patch is good, but I think Devourer's Gauntlet is too cheap, especially compared to items like Transcendence. I think the solution is to simply increase the price of ADC items which are picked up a lot and have good stats, decrease the farm in duo side of the map or increase the movement speed of minions so the ADC has less time to farm from jungle, which could also give junglers more independence. I guess the only problem with doing all this is it makes the tank meta more viable. [link] [comments] | ||
