Skyrim Logic and Pet Peeves

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 03:50 AM PDT

I bloody love this game!

But there are weird things and some videos on YouTube are dedicated to pointing out illogical and annoying things like you can save a town from a dragon but if you just steal an apple, you're in a shed load of trouble! Money doesn't weight anything and you lose weight the more you eat. You can only play the Thane card once per city (why???) And many more. Curious as to what yours are...

Again, I adore this game but it does defy logic and there are times I go "WTF? Really?"

RP Lore Theory: At the start of the game Skyrim is undergoing an extreme economic crisis due to counterfeit.

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 05:34 PM PDT

At the start of the game Skyrim is in a hyper-inflationary crisis. The evidence for this is in the high prices for all material goods available from merchants. They aren't ripping you off because your speech isn't high yet. Also, note that they aren't selling anything super valuable.

In a crisis merchants hang on to the really valuable items because they don't trust the value of the money later. Less valuable armor and weapons are being sold at a steep premium instead. So what is going on?

Gold works as a perfect currency because it is rare but lately more and more gold ingots have been showing up at the market. The enormous surplus is causing everyone to become suspicious and raise their prices.

Enter Dragonborn: when you clear the Halted Stream Camp you discover (by accident) the source of all the excess gold that has been ruining the economy. The bandits had a book that helped them transmute iron into silver into gold. By slaying all of the bandits and taking the book you ended the inflationary crisis. Alternatively you could've killed a cave full of the mages that were in on it.

Gradually merchants lower their prices and begin offering valuable items again. This isn't because you are better at speechcraft, they simply trust the economy again.

Okay, Skyrim has been out for quite a while now, anyone want to share the most unexplainable/ disturbing thing you've found in the game?

Seeing pictures of really dark and weird occurrences, or downright creepy things hidden in the game really interests me Thanks for reading

What's wrong with my Skyrim Special Edition? I can't get past the intro sequence, the graphics always freeze in the same spot, but the game keeps going, and that's the effect of it if i let it play, what could the problem be? Thanks in advance

Anybody else like the regular mage hoods instead of dragon priest masks? Could just be my heavy dragon armor but those mage hoods look really cool for my evil lord of the bones conjurer/one handed build. The mace of Molag Bol is so good. Im having a hard time thinking of a better one handed weapon.
