The Genius of the Dark Brotherhood Questline

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 10:13 AM PST

Tenet I. Never dishonor The Nightmother. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.

Asks you to hide in the Nightmother's coffin.

Tenet II. Never betray the Dark Brotherhood or it's secrets. To do so is to I invoke the wrath of Sithis.

Astrid betrays the brotherhood to the Penitus Oculatus.

Tenet III. Never disobey or refuse to carry out an order from a Dark Brotherhood superior. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.

Astrid might seem safe here; but she dispbeys and refused to carry out an order from The Nightmother herself; the highest authority in The Brotherhood.

Tenet IV. Never steal the possessions of a Dark Brother or Dark Sister. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.

Astrid asks you to steal Cicero's journals and look through them.

Tenet V. Never kill a dark brother or sister. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis.

Not only did she order you to kill Cicero; she tried to have you killed and also caused to death of almost the entire order.

This is an absolutely ingenious way to cleverly and subtly work the tenets into the quest. Good job, elder scrolls team.

Ok I left to sell dragon bones, and came back to this.

I think Forsworn Headresses work really well on Bosmer women.

Thanksgiving Belongs To The Nords!

After seeing what is going on with many recent AAA titles, including the slow demise of single player and the proliferation of microtransactions, it's nice just being able to get lost in a game like Skyrim and not have to worry about any of that nonsense.

[fan theory!] sven and faendal...

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 06:06 PM PST

... dont really like camilla! they use reverse psychology to trick the dov into helping them escape her! think about it. when you trick camila into liking faendal, what does he do? he runs off with you leaving her! possibly forever, if he dies. what about sven? when you take his side, he runs off with you, leaving camila behind.

Annoying NPC acts and dialogues

Posted: 22 Nov 2017 10:17 PM PST

People of Skyrim, which NPC actions and/or dialogues do you find annoying?

I'd expect Nazeem will be the top of your list, but besides him, I wanna sink my fists onto Erikur and Ondolemar (and any other Thalmor) every time I talk to them. (Not to mention Erikur will be involved in Elisif's assassination, but the quest was shelved.)

Another is Talen-Jei, after collecting flawless amethysts for him, will still be quite hostile, which is understandable since I brawled Keerava, but I kinda hate ingrates.

Bolund of Falkreath is also in my list, because after I (a Khajiit) killed a dragon attacking that boring backwaters of Skyrim, he still laments racist shit like "I can't believe we let provincials like you wander Skyrim."

AERIN. That creep actually traveled to Solitude after I dismissed Mjoll (I'm using a follower mod)

Uthgerd still hurls low-key insults to me after I absorbed countless dragon souls and cleared dungeons. Also, Njada Stonearm don't have an ounce of respect even though you avenged Kodlak. They can't even guard the old man properly!

Taarie for berating my armor, and when you marry her she can't even go to bed with ya.

...and the list goes on and on...

What’s the most gold you’ve ever racked up in Skyrim and what motivated you to get that much?

Posted: 23 Nov 2017 06:02 AM PST

I️ was playing a bit ago and realized that after going from dungeon to dungeon finding things to sell I️ have literally nothing else to buy in the game and couldn't figure out why I️ kept collecting
