Just announced on Twitter.

Not big of a surprise I think, even though it's still a year down the road, but if Riot wants to franchise EU, teams like UOL has zero chance and players have to think about the long run.

The best thing UOL can do to leave some legacy behind is to act as a "talent agency" in 2018, hire a new set of rookies, give them some experience before they can be possibly picked up by future franchised teams.

Literally the only team so far out of all the new NA franchise squads to not announce any new players officially. The only bit we have is a Shiphtur "leak" that may have been just trolling.

I feel like they're going to either hit us with something huge or trot out some booty juice cellar dweller roster, and I'm leaning towards the latter considering a lot of the top talent has been taken

Zoës RNG is too impactful and it isnt fun

Her W passive minion drops have a huge impact. TP drops during lane can give her a free b and comeback with a lead, or get a roam off.

And then the other game she just rolls a protobelt and doesnt do much at all besides waveclear faster 1 wave.

She roams bot and gets counterganked, kills a minion that drops a lucky ghost for the easy escape

There is WAY too much rng involved with her and and its having a huge impact on the games she is in. Maybe you wouldnt lane any other time but zoe got 2x tp drop and an early heal this time. wow. outplayed by a random number generator

I fail to see how this got approoved for live when Riot has consitently been anti RNG in the past, especially high variance rng such as this. It doesnt feel good when you get lucky rng in a situation you wouldve otherwise lost, and it doesnt feel good to play against it either.

Other than that I think she is a fun champion but just remove the rng entirely as far as im concered. this is a major step backwards.

Edit: here is my potential solution:

Every minion death drops "star essence" Zoe can collect this in the same manner Thresh can with his souls. Perhaps give it slightly larger collection range.

At 50 essence, her W will be a protobelt. If she doesnt use w and consume the essence, she can keep collecting. at 70 its a gunblade, at 250 a tp, at 300 flash, and so forth.

this removes the random drops, allows people to play around her current summoner spell more easily and predict when she will be more vulnerable to a gank, without lucking out.

Let me know what you think about this idea

second edit: I dont mean kill 300 minions to get flash, the minions could drop varying amount of essence. 50 for a siege, 10 for a melee, etc, whatever, riot could adjust it. the point of the potential solution is to find a way to keep having zoe able to access multiple actives and summoners, without having rng involved.

Team Liquid tweeted two pairs of emoji eyes on their twitter, which they did when they announced Xmithie and Pobelter. I'm also going to guess that it's not Impact and Olleh, since they're in Korea, and TL probably couldn't have made content with them yet. That means that today's announcement is likely Doublelift and TL's 6th man/ coaching staff

Riot.EU thought the Solution for EU LCS was to fragment into 4 minor leagues and expand to 24 teams total teams

while losing every decent free agent to NA LCS franchising money.

just think about that, they wanted to expand to 24 teams when there are maybe two handful of well-known EU players left in EU LCS .

just let that sink, that was their masterplan for EU LCS.

EDIT: Let me remind you European Football teams are constantly talking about creating a super league (which is what EU LCS already is) instead of playing their national competitions to further increase revenue and improving top level football. The only reason they don't do it is because of how the national leagues have organically grown and the traditions involved in it.

From an economic point of view Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Paris etc would play in their own super league instead.

Instead the play in their local leagues which have less global reach and have to face the pressure of competing against the English Premier League which has an insane TV contract because of how all the teams created major debt in the 90s to increase its profile and bet on selling their product world wide thanks to it being broadcast in English already making it more attractive for international viewers by default since the then much better German and Italian leagues were not easily accessible for people who did not speak German or Italian.

So honestly the entire argument for the fragmentation and how it is similiar to European Football is complete bogus.

Not to mention that unlike football which has upwards of 50.000 people in the attendance, LoL has no real socializing aspect, it is not a locally tied event.

If anything Riot could do a better job officially incooperating all the international broadcasting streams of EU LCS. That would be a lot more effective than simply creating minor leagues in four countries.

-???(Froggen?) (FLY)- they have a import slot so its likely they wont choose HAI

-??? (GGS-Tons of money)

Its likely Froggen will either go to FLY or GGS, so thats even at best 2 NA midlaners with 2 Koreans and 6 EU's.

I personally hate Franchising because it takes the competitiveness away, but i can understand it from an economic standpoint. Nevertheless, it shows why EU and NA should both have it, or none.

At this point, the money in NA is so much higher that they can just buy every EU player they want, and there is nothing the EU Orgs can do against it. Furthermore, the regions are similiar in culture and language, so there isnt a huge gap the players have to overcome- yes its still not easy, but its different to KR->NA.

There is no reason to be mad at the players, its the right move. But it´s really sad that the 2nd or 3rd best Region in the World, depends on what you take as the criterias, gets just thrown under the bus. We have been an NA Academy region for 2 years now, but this year is even worse.

Just a few examples now for players going to NA from EU that either stayed in NA or didnt work for some reason:
