Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

Do you enjoy watching streamers? Do you wish there was an easier way to find new up-and-coming streamers beyond the well-known, established Twitch goliaths?

Do you have a stream yourself? Are you looking to get exposure but not sure how given how Twitch displays streams and how one-shot stream promotion posts on Reddit tend to get ignored? Is anyone still reading these questions?

If you are a streamer or know of a cool, lesser-known (read: doesn't regularly pull in 1K+ viewers) streamer feel free to post the URL and a short, informative pitch about why you feel others would be interested to watch it. Why should someone watch your suggested stream rather than one of the hundreds of other streams out there?

The next great streamer might be just one comment away.

I was streaming for like 12 hours trying to just get to legend and I never imaged I could achieve this. I'm tired as fuck, I can't stop smiling.

Edit : slept like 4 hours, my eyes hurt a little but I realize I didn't include the deck list as people asked.

I got to rank 3 with "big warlock" (a deck I made to try and counter big druid), then climbed with tempo kele rogue and at the end like 10 games with quest mage. I'll post the decklists as soon as I can, posting from Phone atm)

Here are the cards NOT being added to Arena (the ones that weren't chosen).

I've included the chosen cards too for reference, they're the last one in each list and in italics.

Hunter

  • Reload (Spell) 2 mana: "Discard your hand. Draw 3 cards."
  • Volley (Spell) 4 mana: "Add 3 random shot spells to your hand."
  • Deadeye (Spell) 2 mana: "For the rest of the game, your Hero Power can also target minions."

Mage

  • Arcane Flux (Spell) 2 mana: "Cast a random Mage spell (tartgets chosen randomly). Draw a card."
  • Power Cosmic (Spell) 1 mana: "Discover a Legendary minion."

Some really interesting cards there. Personnally I'd have picked either of the Druid cards over Nature's Champion, same with the Warlock picks.

Let's talk about cosmetic rewards and a proper achievement system.

With the upcoming release of K&C it seems like Blizzard does not know what kind of rewards to offer players for completing a dungeon run and it made me think back to my achievement system posts here:

With this kind of system players can track progress towards cosmetic and even non-cosmetic rewards, this would be great for the dungeon run mode. It can offer rewards for beating a certain boss a certain number of times or defeating a boss a specific way. These add some replay value while giving players incentive to try the new mode while not making it a must play in order to get gold/packs.

I don't think the Dungeon Run should offer gold, I do however think it would benefit greatly from a proper achievement system that comes with cosmetic rewards such as titles (that go above or below your name in-game), hero costumes (like the hallows ends ones), hero trays, mana crystal themes, board items (items that go onto different/all boards like hallows end's pumpkins did, this can include pets you can interact with) and perhaps even card backs. Some of these seem pretty easy to add like the titles and hero trays.

TL;DR:

Add a proper achievement system like WoW/SC2/D3 have and have some offer cosmetic rewards like titles, hero costumes and board items to add some more replay value to PvE modes and the game in general.

These cards were chosen by the audience at the Hearthstone Live Q&A Panel. There were 3 potential cards shown for each class, and one was chosen by the audience out of each 3. These cards will be added in a future patch, only in Arena, and for a limited time. The cards aren't collectible and "may be balanced".

Blizzard please consider adding a weekly reward to the new Dungeon Mode

The Dungeon Mode will probably be a lot of fun, but without a reward, it will feel you are missing some value while playing it's long runs compared to the rest of the game. A weekly reward to justify playing it a bit more would be ideal. Maybe a pack like Tavern Brawl, mabye 50gold/50dust. I dont think there's anything negative on incentivize a weekly Dungeon run and this would add to the mode.

I cannot be the only one who despises constructed. It's the same decks, over .. and over .. and over again. 90% of games come down to who draws their "I win" cards/combos first. Arena (real arena mind you, not this dual class high-roll nonsense) is better but not perfect. As long as Bonemare and Scalebane exist, arena physically and literally cannot be balanced.

I genuinely don't enjoy playing against other players but I LOVE playing this game. Every single game I have ever truly enjoyed (many being Blizzard titles) from Starcraft to Diablo(s) to Assassin's Creed have all been single player. Hearthstone has somewhat had this capability but it has been relegated to tutorial status and unless you still have adventures to complete, you don't bother with it.

You have the opportunity to change this, Blizzard. I'm not going to ask for anything insane like seasonal rewards from single player or exclusive rewards/perks but please make sure we can complete quests, get wins towards golden heroes, gain experience, get 3 wins gold, etc from Dungeon Runs.

You can make this format actually mean something. I'm worried this will just be yet another cardback and then everyone will forget it as they go back on ladder for the eternal grind. PLEASE prove this wrong. Make it viable. Make it valuable. Make it something I look forward to playing because right now, the only truly fun part of Hearthstone is Tavern Brawl and that's pretty sad. I have 103 wins so far and have long since stopped gaining gold today but it's better than ladder, that's for sure.

Since 90% of this subreddit is salt, let's make the other 10% wholesome. I've read a good portion of the flavor texts and man, they seem pretty well thought out and give me a chuckle or two, they never look like they were thoughtlessly just dropped on as filler. Blizz, the quality of flavor texts is about as consistent as Hearthstone gets and it's nice :)

Azerbaijan 1st Fireside Gathering and Community meeting

Hello reddit. I have submitted a post 2 weeks ago about 1st Azerbaijan Fireside Gathering. Finally we had it, yaay. I wanted to share it with you because it is really important moment for our Hearthstone Community in Azerbaijan. Okay, about statistics. We had around 30 people in gathering and I had really good feedbacks about it. We had Fireside Brawl today for hero skin too. It was fun.

About the community in Azerbaijan. We have a Cyber Sports Federation in the Ministry of Youth and Sports. They do totally nothing and don't help us financially nor arranging a place to have our gatherings and other activities. Azerbaijany players can't earn HTC points. Federation doesn't help with that either. For world we don't exist and that's sad. There are little people who wants to do something but at the end it comes to the Federation and that's the dead end. I hope you will help us to make it possible at least for Azerbaijany players to have a chance to prove themselves. With this we could promote and improve our community. For now, I am happy with this achievement.

The idea of replacing Aluneth with Medivh's Atiesh is hilariously flavorful.

Aluneth is a staff formerly owned by Aegwynn, a powerful mage and Medivh's mom. Aluneth is very powerful, but it's rather uncontrollable, because it contains an arcane entity (also named Aluneth) who's a condescending jerk. While Aegwynn was fighting the Avatar of Sargeras, Aluneth would not respond to her commands, so she ditched it and summoned Atiesh. So basically, whenever you replace Aluneth with Atiesh, Aluneth is once against replaced for something more controllable.

You need to set the stage with the weapon (if the Warlock's Weapon had such power it would be 8-10 Mana).

Then you need to cross fingers for not having your weapon destroyed by Harrison Jones or Ooze.

Finally, you play Rin (hopefully no secret would Sheep him) and if you have Violet Illusionist on your hand and a spell to destroy Rin : profit!!

Not a super easy combo, but if this weapon exist, Rin would clearly be OP!

(but don't worry, Violet Illusionist goes to Wild with the next expansion, no problem!!)
