Fuck. This game is around half a decade old. What the hell?

Ive been with Halo since CE and I literally cant remember meeting someone with a similar view but I LOVE Halo 4. Multiplayer, campaign, all of it. I was SO hyped for it, and it delivered. I was so confused by the hate. Sure, it was different but it was so fun for me and still felt a lot like Halo.

Halo 5 was a crushing disappointment for me and i kind of drifted away from Halo. I recently booted up Halo 4 on the MCC after years and a lot of great feelings returned instantly.

I Iove the feel, the graphics, the guns, the maps, the gameplay, the story... All of it. Im so sad Halo 5 abandoned everything good about 4, even the story themes.

Happy birthday Halo 4, you brilliantly under appreciate addition to this series we all love

Every mainline Halo starts and ends immediately after the the events of the previous title... except for Halo 5.

I'm aware that days, weeks, or months have passed between the games in canon, but I'm talking strictly visually. Halo CE ends with the destruction of the Halo ring: Halo 2's very first shot is that same destroyed ring, followed by the consequences your actions had on the Covenant. Halo 2 ends with the Chief in orbit above Earth: Halo 3 picks up with his fall from orbit. Halo 3 ends with John in cryo aboard the Forward Unto Dawn drifting towards a Forerunner planet: Halo 4 (albeit with a jarring visual split) opens with John awakening from cryo and entering said planet. Halo 4 ends with John alone, mourning the loss of Cortana and mulling over his own humanity; the final shot is his armor being stripped away: Halo 5 starts with Osiris Hollywooding their way down a mountain to rescue Dr. Halsey, who's trying to warn everyone that Cortana is already well underway with her evil plan to take over the universe and kill a bunch of people.

... Yea, that might be contributing the the feeling that Halo 5 story is so out of place. It seems like there's a game missing between 4 and 5. Even Reach ended on CE's doorstep.

(Unless you play MCC. Then Halo CE ends with the destruction of the Halo ring: Halo 2 opens with a team of Spartan IVs hunting Chief in a ship with Elites and some new Elite leader. Halo 2 then closes with characters you'll never see again until 5 running out of said ship.)

HaloRuns relay race begins today! 24 speedrunners completing every Halo game in order!

Hello everyone!

The HaloRuns relay race will start today at 7am PST, or when this post is 5 hours old! There will be three teams of eight that will complete every FPS Halo game as fast as they can on easy, starting with Halo: Reach and finishing with Halo 5. The final teams can be found here! If you have never watched a Halo speedrun before then this is a great opportunity to watch your favourite games being completed in ways you wouldn't imagine. Even though Halo 5 has only been out for a couple of years, it is by far one of the best Halo speedruns so make sure you're around for that!

The whole race will be streamed to https://www.twitch.tv/haloraces so be sure to follow that if you want to watch, this will also be the 4th annual race and we will continue hosting these in the years to come! If you're watching and have any questions about the speedrun, the runners will be happy to answer you when they can.

Either nobody is playing Halo 5 anymore or something is up, because for the past month or so I can barely find games in any playlist. Used to be able to match almost instantly in Warzone, SWAT, FFA, BTB, Super Fiesta, now I can only ever find games in BTB and even then it's hit or miss. Anyone else experiencing this too?

Serious question, not trying to argue. I recently started browsing this subreddit and it seems like a constant stream of people shitting on Halo 5 and MCC. I've played the whole series, except Halo Wars, and I thoroughly enjoy the movement, pacing, and gunplay of H5.
