- A month ago, Halo 2 Tricker "Dr. Bizz" discovered how to recreate the rare "dead or alive" glitch in Halo 2. A decade ago, trickers on HIH poured all of their resources into finding out how to recreate this "chance" glitch. Ten years later, we used the trick to get in the Sacred Icon Cutscene Room.

| Posted: 11 Nov 2017 04:29 PM PST Replaying the game and I just love how they show that Osiris Team's loyalty is to the UNSC whereas Blue Team's loyalty is obviously to each other first and UNSC second. I'm not saying that Blue Team would rebel, I just mean that when Chief wanted to go look for Cortana on Meridian, Kelly, Linda and Fred didn't even think twice about going. Fred even made the joke about ONI not being able to court-marshal all of them. On the flip side, Locke and his team seem conflicted at best about their order to bring in Chief who they acknowledge has saved humanity numerous times. So they know what they're doing is in a grey area yet they still follow their orders for the most part. It's just a really cool detail IMO. Blue team would die for each other, even if it's to go rescue a dying AI that none of them have met except one of their squad mates. Just makes the Spartan IIs seem even better to me than all other Spartans after them. [link] [comments]  | ||

| I need to get this message out to people about ODST. Posted: 11 Nov 2017 06:34 PM PST Story time. I have played halo since halo 1, I'm currently 21 years old. Adore the series. I've played through all the campaigns zillions of times. At least that's what I thought. I realized a few days ago that I never actually played the ODST campaign. After some thinking, I remembered that I always thought ODST was kind of dark, spooky, and just depressing. I played a few levels (but a good amount of firefight) and never went back to it. I just installed ODST two days ago. My. Fucking. God. This game is excellent!! But you wouldn't know it, unless you actually commit to finding out the story yourself. There are something like 40? Audio logs around the city, that detail the events of a girl's story when the invasion happened. I found the first few... Then quickly realized that its actually fucking hilarious. The story that gets told over these audio logs, that many people may never have even found nor cared enough to continue finding, makes this game 15 times better. It has some dark parts, a lot of genuinely funny interactions between the characters. Some of them are just so damn sassy. Seriously. If you haven't played ODST to its fullest, you are doing yourself a disservice. I've only found up to audio log number 17? I think. But I am completely 100% determined to find every single one of them. I am not the type of gamer to go out of my way to find collectibles or hidden things in games. I typically just beat the main questline and then move on with my life. But SERIOUSLY, if you haven't you NEED to go back, boot up the game again, and give it another shot. | An Extremely Interesting Loose End from Halo Evolutions that May Allude to Events in Halo 6 Posted: 11 Nov 2017 12:24 PM PST So I was rewatching some of old Halo animations and remembered an interesting loose end from the Halo: Evolutions story called The Return (BTW I'd highly recommend watching it, the voice acting is top notch): It's set in 2559 - one year after the events of Halo 5; also the year Halo Wars 2 takes place. A Sangheili Shipmaster seeking redemption and purpose in the years following the Human-Covenant War seems to stumble upon a human discovery of an unknown Forerunner Monitor. Here is the actual excerpt from the book: "....in one picture he saw part of a rounded frame and smooth glass lens that looked exactly like the Forerunner Oracle they had kept in their former capital city High Charity before it was destroyed by the recklessness of the Prophet of Truth." In the animation, it is confirmed that the unearthed object is indeed a monitor. What monitor could this be -- Abject Testament, Mendicant Bias, Offensive Bias? Could this be Chakas' long lost friend Riser? Is there any indication that this Shipmaster will be an important character going forward? Do you think Halo 6 will address this event at all? It fits perfectly in with the timeline, there's even lines addressing the infighting amongst the Sangheili, presumably ending with The Battle of Sunaion. It has been 7 years since I first read this, I would love some answers or even speculation as we await news on Halo 6. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Halo 5 Ranking System Moved Me Down Posted: 11 Nov 2017 11:07 PM PST I just bought Halo 5: Guardians. Every website I have read about the ranking system says that while it is possible to move down in ranking, it is impossible to move down a tier (i.e. Gold to Silver) after losing. However, recently I moved up to Platinum 1 in SWAT, and then after losing it moved me back down to Gold 6. Why is this? Has there been a change in a recent update? Thanks in advance.
