[Data-Mining] Unused Map Instances from Path of Fire

Hello everybody,

It's been almost two months since Path of Fire launched and I haven't seen anybody write about this yet but there's a small unused map instance that we never got to visit.

Facts:

  • It shares the same data file as Kesho / Domain of the Lost / The first fight with Balthazar
  • There are two "rooms" that are walled off with invisible walls and are separated by a portal
  • A second portal can be found in the smaller "room"
  • In the north western corner of the map there's a very basic copy of Skritt's Audience making it possible to place it on the world map.

Thank you ANet, this has been annoying me for so long!

I liked that track at first, but it's 1) way too epic for a regular background music, 2) damn boring to have to listen to it every single day when I go to LA for the first time.

I usually either quickly logged out to character select and back, or viewed a vista to make it skip that damn track. It seriously made me prefer to go to other cities rather than LA O.o

Scourge shades getting obstructed

Since a few days i and any other necro i have spoken with have noticed that the shades since the last patch act as they would be projectiles. Any difference in terrain, go behind a pillar or corner, put the shades on a wall/bridge/any small ledge, results in getting the f2 to f5 skills "obstructed" until you move yourself in line of sight with the center of the shade aoe.

I am fairly certain this is not an intended behavior but there hasn't been any acknowledgement of this on the forum, ence we still do not know if is a bug or not. If this is an intended behavior, it deserves an explanation... Expecially because every other aoe skill in the game doesn't work this way. If this is a shadow nerf for WvW because of the pressure we can do on the walls, well eles have been doing it better for the past 5 years.

Edit: the flair is set to "event". Can't change it from phone apparently.

Ranger - Felt powerful while leveling up, now feel weak at 80. Any tips?

New to GW2. Played a couple of different professions, then stuck with Ranger - mainly Shortbow, Marksmanship, then added Beastmaster, then Skirmishing. Mostly +condition dmg. Guess I got spoiled because pet & I just wrecked everything.

Recently got to 80, tried elite Soulbeast as dagger/torch. Nice bleed/flame dmg, but 20K hps seem to go down fast in Crystal Desert without much toughness, I couldn't go toe-to-toe with any Veterans or even 1v3 or more.

So back to shortbow & pet, but still having trouble with adds or escort quests, even getting downed in My Story :( It feels like I'm a couple levels too low for Crystal Desert content, when I was always fine before.

Besides "git gud noob", any tips/suggestions?

[PSA] While HoT stat combos were exclusive to players who own HoT, PoF stats are obtainable by players who dont own PoF

I find that quite a curious change in direction from Anet and was wondering what other players think about this change.

Also wondering, if that is an intended change by Anet or something they might fix. If that is the case, players who dont own PoF and want any gear with those stats, they might want to hurry getting them before they restrict access.

Edit: Some mentioned I should say in the OP how to get these stats, if you dont own HoT, so here goes:

If you want ascended gear with harrier, marshal or griever stats, the easiest solution is to stat swap another asc armor piece or weapon to these stats in the mystic forge, using:

The mordant inscription for harrier weapons and the mosaic for griever weapons and armor you have to buy from the tp, the spearmarshal insi/inscr and the harrier insi are learned through discovery, so technically, non PoF owners, should be able to craft those themselves, if they get pulsing brandsparks, putrescence etc from the tp as well.

AFAIK, exotic grievers isnt available to non pof owners but exotic harrier and marshal gear is available via a couple of exotic sets from rng drops in PoF, which are tradeable.

If you want to find those, I suggest you use the filter options in the TP UI to search for the corresponding stat combos.

2nd Edit: The stat availability only extends to armor and weapons, I dont think non pof owners can obtain trinkets or backpieces with pof stats.

Did someone who owns the leggie trinket Aurora but not PoF check, if PoF stats are available?

How is it with legendary armor, weapons and backpieces? Can someone choose PoF (or HoT) stats on those, if he doesnt own the respective expansion? Cant check myself as I own both.

3rd Edit:

It seems they plan to release a hotfix patch this late afternoon on an unrelated issue, so it will be interesting to see, if they put in the missing vendors back in and maybe even change this.

How many hours would I need to sink into GW1 to get all Heritage Gear?

Condi FB vs Condi Berserker

I have a full set of vipers heavy armor with renegade runes and almost done getting vipers trinkets. I just don't have any of the ascended weapons condi berserker uses. I was doing this to gear a fb but looking at benchmarks it looks like the warrior only has like 4K less dps than fb now but provides way more support... or maybe renegade? Idk how good condi renegade is in fractals and raids. I need to choose a main finally because I have a terrible tendency to burn myself out trying to regear characters. As far as open world goes too how does condi berserker do? I mainly do t3/t4 fractals but I'm spending a lot of time in the open world as well.
