| Workshop Wednesday - Give Crafting Tips, Offer Services, Help Your Fellow Crafters! Posted: 15 Nov 2017 01:00 AM PST Hey folks, Welcome to Workshop Wednesday, a community-building, regularly occurring thread on the subreddit! Workshop Wednesday is a thread aimed at all things crafting, from sharing tips and knowledge, providing assistance, or offering crafting services to others. Got a way to get more of those pesky crafting mats into your inventory? Have a rare recipe you're willing to produce for others? Just want to help with crafting as a whole? Let the community know here! Crafting is a deep system in The Elder Scrolls Online with multiple professions, so be sure to participate in the thread whether you're a crafting novice or a master at sweetroll baking. Please keep in mind the 'no personal attacks' rule in our sidebar, disagree respectfully with others, and know that a repeated or seemingly obvious bit of knowledge may not be obvious to everyone. In addition, please be careful about posting in-game information about your account name/characters for conducting crafting business. We recommend contact information be shared privately to keep your account secure. We look forward to your contributions! I was programmed to write posts automatically by /u/Woeler. | I haven't had this much fun in an MMO since Ultimate Online in 1995-1996 Posted: 14 Nov 2017 09:23 AM PST I just bought this game and I freaking love it. I started online gaming with Diablo 1 in the 90s and I still have my collector's edition box of Ultima Online. Even though UO was the first really commercially successful MMO, I know it left a lot to be desired, but the nostalgia factor is HIGH. I didn't like most of the MMOs that followed because WoW basically converted everything into a hyper-curated themepark. WoW did lots of great stuff with gear progression and skills, but it had one huge problem. WoW felt like a game. UO, even though it was older and more limited, felt more real to me. Anyway, ESO has so much of what I love from UO, but without the problems. This game is amazing. For example, UO didn't have levels, you built up certain skills by using them. The problem was, you could end up with some really oddly balanced skills if you used something for a little bit. ESO nicely solves this by basing skill growth off of use while also having levels and allowing you to pick what skills to improve. The champion point system seems like it makes the game damn near infinite. I have been playing for a week and I am only level 19, forget about CP 690. The housing is brilliant too. In UO eventually ever single open space in the world had a house in it. We urbanized Britannia. I like the awesome instanced homes that you can see in the real world but don't increase the player footprint. I also like that they adopted something similar to WoW loot progression. In UO, loot didn't matter a lot, other than gold. People never wore their good gear out of town because dying meant losing it. At one point, everyone in the game was just running around in cheap cloth robes with spears and keeping all of their nice stuff in the bank. Anyway. I love this game and I am so excited to keep playing it. Wife is mildly frustrated, but also understanding because she can see how excited I am. Look forward to seeing you all in the game! | Posted: 15 Nov 2017 03:11 AM PST Ok so after 27 months of playing I've finally reached 160CP (that's right come at me bro!) And I'm a dark elf StamBlade who uses plenty of poison moves with his bow (DW on the back bar). I was wondering what gear you guys would recommend, and how I would go about acquiring it. Plz and thx [link] [comments] | ||||||||||
| The Unacceptable Drop Rate on Epic Morrowind/CWC patterns Posted: 15 Nov 2017 01:08 AM PST I have played nearly ever single day since Morrowind dropped. I subscribe to PLUS, and have probably spent over $150 on crowns. This is the only game I play because I don't have time in my life for others. I play on Xbox. Now I love making, selling, decorating with furniture in the game. I know nearly every single vanilla pattern in the game. Would you like to know how many Morrowind epic patterns I know? One. One pattern. Out of the HUNDREDS they added to the game. I did not even find it. I had to pay 500k for it in a trader. Most players don't know any. I know about 20 of the blue rare patterns (pretty much the only ones that drop). They added a multitude of these patterns too but I would say 3/4 are not dropping for anyone. Now I have farmed nearly 25 hours. I spend multiple hours running 6 different characters through ancestral tombs to finally find my first epic morrowind pattern. The drop rate is below terrible. That is a month of farming and not getting a single one. Hell in the recent controversy with Battlefront people were upset over 40 hours of grinding for a major upgrade. All I am farming for is a one goddamn furnishing pattern!!!! And somehow they are still rarer than anything else in the game. And now I hear that they have nerfed the already terrible drop rates on patterns from Clockwork city. Added to this fact is that the crafting materials are as rare as the patterns and we have even a worse situation than in Morrowind. Someone said the devs check Reddit out so I thought I would post. I have emailed, pm'ed, started a thread and responded to multiple threads about this issue and they refuse to comment on it. I hope to get people interested in letting them know we want a change. Heck I would be happy if they just said anything about it. [link] [comments] | ||||||||||

| How to Find Items on ESO Fashion Posted: 14 Nov 2017 11:11 AM PST I've noticed through Reddit referrals to the site, that many people use older ESO Fashion links to show where to find things when I've since created more appropriate pages. Here are some links to pages I've created to make it easier to find things. You can, of course, always use the search bar at the top left (menu portion of the page) or the multi-category filter on the top right (side bar portion of the page) to find posts. If you have any suggestions for the site, please let me know. *Note: Most styles only have posts for tier 1 and 10. ArmorWhen you want to see all crafted armor sets sorted by material tierThese were the first pages created and can be useful for comparing styles, but have been superseded by the comparison pages. When you want to see all crafted armor sets sorted by styleThese pages are useful in seeing the progression of one style from tier to tier, but have been superseded by the motif pages. When you want to compare all tier 1 armor setsThese pages are primarily useful for those styles that actually look different at tier 1 compared to tier 10. When you want to compare all tier 10 armor setsThese pages are the most useful for comparing armor sets. They show all images instead of a thumbnail linked to a post. They also contain non-craftable sets. WeaponsWeapons have the same types of pages as armor. To save time and space, you can see them all under Weapons or Comparison on the menu bar (left side of page). In addition, there are pages where you can see all Blacksmithing and Woodworking weapons on one page sorted by material tier instead of the weapon type breakout like the other pages. Other Armor / Weapon Pages
MotifsEach style has its own page with information on how to obtain the motif and style stones and which DLC / Expansion the style was first craftable. The sets are broken out by material tier with each tab showing all items (armor and weapons) in that tier. Additionally, you can see any non-craftable sets and a style comparison between the tier 1 and tier 10 sets. Some day, I would love to be able to complete the individual piece, color variation, and dyed tabs that you can see on the Dro-m'Athra page for every style. HousingHousing has its own jump page where you can easily access all housing related pages. When you submit your home to the site, it will show here instead of the front page. The best way to see all furnishings is the Furnishings page. Unfortunately, because there are so many this page loads very slowly. Some other useful pages for sorting furnishings are:
CollectionsThis is to show those items found in the in-game collections. I am still working on collecting Mementos and haven't added them to the site yet and I've been very lax in completing event achievements to purchase those furnishings. TL;DR The most useful pages on ESO Fashion are:[link] [comments] | ||||||||||

| End-game Magicka Warden PvE DPS build [Clockwork City] Posted: 14 Nov 2017 11:45 AM PST Been a while since I've posted about the Mag Warden, but here is my new build for the Clockwork City DLC! In my opinion, Mag Warden is still suffering from the same issues as it was when first released, therefore I wanted to make a build that provides massive group utility via gear and skill choices where class passives are lacking, while still being able to pump out decent numbers. Hope you enjoy. :) [link] [comments] | ||||||||||
| Datamining for next Crown Crate season? Posted: 14 Nov 2017 02:59 PM PST I haven't seen anything posted as far as the new crate season coming in ~13 days. I may have just missed it though. | HELP! Ping and end-game competence or efficiency Posted: 15 Nov 2017 01:30 AM PST So I'm playing from Asia. On average I'm sitting on 270ms of ping. On bad times I'm on 400ms. For open-world shinnanigans it's not really that of a big deal. For end-game content though like vet dungeons (or maybe trials - haven't gotten to that point yet) I feel like it's taking a toll. I am using a MagNB build from Alcast and as you vets may already know the rotation can be punishing specially if you keep missing out on that 2nd Merciless Resolve proc. Now I've been practicing these past few days on target dummies and it's just absolutely hard weaving light attacks and Swallow Soul. I tried using Force Shock in replacement but it's not much help. The biggest annoyance is that noticeable delay where I tap light attack to cancel up that Swallow Soul / Force Shock animation and my character holds the fire staff too long before releasing the damn normal attack. On videos like Gilliam's and Alcast's doing their rotations i'm not seeing this happening. I have tried my best cancelling this long animation before releasing the normal attack like spamming the next ability but it just doesn't work. I suspect it's now related to my ping. Now I'm the type of gamer who doesn't invest in a game too much unless I know I can competitively contribute to my group in end-game content and I feel like I won't be able to do this like this. Do I just suck? Is it actually my ping or maybe i'm doing something wrong? Jeez do I even have a chance when I start pvp-ing? probably not.. I'm thinking my options could be MagDK (but jesus the sustain is tough) because I don't seem to be feeling this annoyance on MagDK and can do my rotations fine. Another is switching over to StamDK or StamNB where heavy attacks are used most of the time because heavy attacks are easily animation cancel-able. Any thoughts are welcome, negative or positive. Cheers! [link] [comments] | ||||||||||

| Thinking of coming back, but not to play hardcore like I did. Posted: 14 Nov 2017 10:46 PM PST So, I stopped playing not long after morrowind, not because I didn't love the game. But because I had done ALL content expect Veteran Halls of Fabrication and HM Maw. And the game just started to become to much of the same old shit for me, I couldn't even be bothered to level my warden. Basically finished the morrowind campaign and gave all my gold and mats to guildies. The only thing making me want to come back is the story for CWC, because ZoS actually do a really fucking good job (imho) of creating an immersive story. For those that have done the story now for CWC, can you please provide me some insight into how many hours I could expect it to last? Have there been any drastic class balance changes this patch? EDIT; inb4 'you'll be playing the campaign for weeks because, lol, long load screen' [link] [comments] | ||||||||||

| [PC] seriously messed up account Posted: 15 Nov 2017 03:40 AM PST So I've purchased ESO:TU through Steam about a year ago and have been playing ever since with my regular UserID. The problem is, going to my account page on elderscrollsonline.com, the only available content I have is ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE BETA (I participated way back) with STATUS: Active - Trial. The thing is, I don't want to play through Steam anymore so I downloaded the standalone Launcher (the beta has a "download game" button), which in turn got updated and downloaded the latest version of the game. When I try to log in with my credentials, it prompts me to launch through Steam. What's the deal here? Shouldn't there be ESO:TU on my account? I legitimately purchased it on Steam and linked my Steam account with my UserID. Furthermore, I can't purchase regular ESO:TU or ESO:Gold from the store on elderscrollsonline.com ("you do not qualify for this product") Seriously confused, I have submitted a ticket with this issue to eso support. | How much do I have to pay to start playing? Posted: 14 Nov 2017 11:48 PM PST Hi me and my boyfriend are thinking about starting the game on PC. But I'm not sure how much I have to pay montly. I know I need a main game. There are few expansions, right? Morrowind and Clockwork something? If I pay a monthly sub do I get a free access to both of them? I checked the price of this clockowrk dlc in their crown store and it was 12k. It looks like it's more expensive than morrowind but I thought morrowind was a full expansion and clockowrk just a dlc. | How is the pvp in this game now Posted: 15 Nov 2017 03:07 AM PST Haven't played since the start of the game but I heard battlegrounds was added early this year. Is it still active or has it got stale ? Are there any exclusive rewards to playing it or ranks ? Besides that is there any pvp in this game that has a endgame to get exclusive rewards and stuff or is it all just for fun? Thanks ! [link] [comments] | ||||||||||

| [PC] Mouse Cursor Bug After Upgrading to High Sierra (Mac) Posted: 14 Nov 2017 08:12 PM PST A few days ago, I upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.1 and now the mouse cursor is bugged. Others have reported this problem, but so far none of the offered advice has fixed the issue, and I haven't seen an answer from the devs. Here are some of the threads describing the issue on the ESO forums and one on Apple (albeit in German): https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/380568/mouse-pointer-issues https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/373167/macos-high-sierra https://communities.apple.com/de/thread/200014587 I'm mostly posting this for the sake of visibility in case anyone else has experienced this, but if anyone can offer advice, I'd appreciate it. This bug is certainly not as obnoxious as the long load screens, but it's distracting and makes certain tasks more difficult. [link] [comments] |
