I've never played Skyrim, or any of the elder scrolls games for that matter. I've bought Skyrim SE, but I can't get into the game. The lore and history of the world just seems so huge and complex, I feel detached from the world. Is there anyplace where I could learn the most basics of the lore just to get to know the world of skyrim. I really want to get into this game.

Saw this print out of a printer as I walked by in my high school. Can’t wait to see someone dress up in robes tomorrow and start proclaiming the word of Talos as I yell at them to try to throw them against the wall

what happen if i kill all the dark brotherhood's contract targets before accepting it?

example: i kill nilsine shatter-shield before receiving the quest to kill her. will i still receive that quest from nazir and get the money; or will it somehow fuck up the quest progress?

It may sound weird, but other than Throw Voice and Disarm, are there any shouts that could be reliably used on a Thief character? My main Argonian is pretty much a stealth Thief and apprentice alchemist who often uses poison and distractions to get by (And if caught, his trusty, often poisoned Elven war axe with Disarming shouts), but I wonder if there's any shouts that could help with being a sneaky bastard. Of course, I would also love if you told me where the Word Walls for them are.

Hey r/skyrim,

after 6 years I decided to give Skyrim another go. I currently play the classic base game (not SE), no DLCs, with about 40 mods, mostly cosmetics, some gameplay elements & Items.

I keep reading about the 'unofficial patches' that are supposedly a 'must have'.

Is that true? Should I install them? If so, do you have to use the Nexus mod loader for that? Is it compatible with the workshop mods?

Enchanting/Disenchanting

Hello. Early in the game I disenchanted an item to receive Fire Damage which only burns the target for 10. I cannot now disenchant other items that do fire damage (for example a axe of Scorching - 15 damage). Does this mean the maximum damage I can do is 10 when I enchant with fire? Or am I missing a trick. Thanks guys.

Mine is stealth archer but i want to try other fun ones. Im not looking for anything over powered. Also a back story would be cool if you have one. I would love to see how other people play the game.
