Where's the Wayshrine to Flavortown?

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 12:20 PM PDT

I've only been playing ESO for a few weeks so I have to assume that perhaps I'm missing something. Or maybe I'm not, I don't know.

You see, I've come to terms with the fact that I can shoot lightning from my face. No one is surprised when I pull a fully grown horse, complete with riding tackle, from the herd that lives in my robe. We can all run vast distances while hauling the weight of a blue-water sailing yacht and its crew.

Why can't I build a fire? Why can't I cook up some delicious fishy sticks while watching the kitties play in Reaper's March? Why must I find a fire that someone else, presumably just like me, has already made?

Is there some sort of game-fouling reasoning behind not being able to rub two sticks together, like "it helps bring players to towns" or "it would be totally OP to be able to both jump and tailgate."

Is it possible to build a cooking fire with some sort of item that I've simply not yet discovered or would poking some kindling with the angry end of my fire-staff simply not produce the result I think it would?

Need help with a tanking build for questing

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 10:54 PM PDT

Over the last few weeks I finally got my first max level character, now 160cp, and in order to do dungeons as someone in there 30s with limited time I have taken up tanking. I love it, active having to block vs other mmo games where that just happens is a breath of fresh air. However, most of the tanking builds are limited if completely absent of doing meaningful damage. While having 5 minute battles with mob packs is fun, I am asking some of you more long term players what are some tricks/skills I can pick up with sword and shield and warden to do damage so questing doesnt feel like such a chore? Thanks!

[PC] Not sure if this game is for me

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 03:47 AM PDT

Hey guys!

I want to start palying this game, but hesitating a lot, and not sure which one to choose between Final Fantasy 14 and Elder Scrolls Online. Since redditors helped me quite a few times to decide if a game is for me, I am asking you here. Hope its not the 1000th thread this week about the same topic. I found good videos for most of my question, but I still left with a few.

So what my questions are:
I saw a video about sorcerer with s&b and bow. Is it a viable and fun to play hybrid magic/physic builds (I always choose spellsword/battlemage/sorcerer, so heavy armor, shield or sword in one hand, magic in the other)? I am asking about these hybrid combinations mostly in PVP (structured, solo), but in PVE also, and how they perform.
One thing which got me into FF14, is that it's not an aoe fest. I am not pulling tens of mobs, and not killing one under 2 global cooldown. How ESO performs in this case? So the general feeling of the game tends toward WoW post Cataclysm, or more like WoW vanilla?

Healer Theory Crafting- Argonian Warden: Shaman of the Hist

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 04:46 PM PDT

Ok so here's the buzz, I'm trying to get back into healing with my Warden, so here's a bit of fun to run.

Shaman of the Hist:

Race: Argonian

Class: Warden

Mundus: The Atronach

The Sets:

EarthGore:(1 items) Adds 2% Healing Done (2 items) When you heal a friendly target that is under 50% Health you conjure a pool of quenching blood underneath them, which soaks up enemy placed effects instantly and heals all friendly targets in the area for 30000 Health over 3 seconds. This effect can occur once every 35 seconds.

Draugr's Rest:(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Magicka (3 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery (4 items) Adds 2% Healing Done (5 items) When you deal damage with a fully-charged Heavy Attack, you create a circle of consecrated ground that heals you and your allies within 5 meters for 11,000 Health over 10 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

Innate Axiom:(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Magicka (3 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina (4 items) Adds 833 Spell Critical and 833 Weapon Critical.

Well that's the basic build I really like the Aesthetic of Argonian Wardens and I think the HotR Healing sets add quite a bit for that theme. And I thought I'd throw in the Innate Axiom set for some nice Crit & Resource Pools

I would use a Innate Axiom Lightning Staff & Masters Resto Staff

Any Thoughts or Criticisms?

[Question] what is an endgame PvE regime/routine that I can do for serious progression?

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 06:21 PM PDT

I know I'll get a few "it's an mmo, do whatever you want" comments, but I'm really not looking for that. I'm the type of player that likes to find a niche, a routine, and stick to it. Do it daily to progress toward something. I've never done trials in this game and I want to work towards them.

Basically I'm just asking advice on what I should do every night after work to progress PvE wise. I just started playing again after a couple months, and I'm CP390.

To all the vets, if you were me, where would you start and what would you work on in what order? I already have BiS Gear (best obtainable without trials). I guess it's just a little overwhelming to decide on what to do sometimes in this game.

Would you grind straight to CP 660? Or let the levels come more naturally? Is it worth doing vMA over and over just for the correct trait? I have vMA weapon already, just not the right trait. So that's another one that I'm not sure is worth doing or not.

I'm just a little stuck on where to go from here. Any and all help is appreciated!

[PC] We're a group of 3 new players planning to roll through the whole game as a team. Have questions.

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 09:01 PM PDT

We're planning to start tomorrow and go through as much of the game as we can as a team.
How does grouping work in ESO? Is the world instanced for a party, or is it a shared world for all players on a server?
Any tips for party composition? Are there tank/DPS/healer roles in ESO or is everyone their own healer/tank?
Any interesting group-builds we could try out?
Should we assign one person as the 'crafter' and hand them all raw materials to level their skills faster so they'll make everything for the party? Would that be an advantage?
Any other tips for group play and playing through quest-lines as a group in general?

Thanks!

[XBOX] Returning player, with some questions.

Posted: 03 Nov 2017 02:53 AM PDT

Hey all,

I dabbled in the game around the time Thieves guild was out and had a NB stam around 40 and a Templar Healer at 50.

I've jumped back in and made a new Templar Healer to level up with friends and did a daily dungeon last night.

When I entered it was the imperial Prison (?) and I instantly got flashbacks to how horrible it was back then when i tried to heal it.

Has the game changed in some way making this easier? Or is it just that I actually had a correct party comp this time (1x tank, 2x dps and 1 heal). I rememebr the pain of joining dungeons and everyone queuing as all roles despite all being DPS builds.

Is every quest in the game now sync'd and scaled to your level and therefore offering the ideal exp. I seriously do not rememebr levelling being this fast just through quests and social activities like delves.

Any hints, tips or lowdowns on what I should know. Note: I don't own morrowind but own all the DLC apart from this. I'll likely pick up morrowind when I get up to the first CP checkpoint or something.

Also I'm far off right now but I'm working towards building The Reliever build Healer on alcast?

It recommends in there that you take a vamp bite for the magicka/stam refresh.

Since I'm Breton and a lot of content PvE has hefty fire damage a friend has recommended I ignore the Vamp.

Is there a definitvie verdict? I figures the healing regen debuff would be countered by my healing anyway and the fire damage increase would also be mitigated by my healing. The upsides being the passive regen and that damage reduction trait.

Gear Sets mixup

Posted: 02 Nov 2017 06:44 PM PDT

Hey guys! i have a question for the more acknowledged, recently i did respec my DK to tank again and I was planning my gear sets, i picked Plague Doctors + Livewire (the new dropped one from Clockwork DLC), i still don't know what Monster set yet but i like the fact that i can, let's say, have the front bar 2H from the Livewire to have the stun from the set when im aoe/dps and S/S from Plague Doctors for the extra health when im tanking, but some guild mates told me that i shouldn't be using two dropped sets and instead i should be running one dropped and one crafted set, and here's my question, what are the advantages of this? they didn't seem to give me a good reason just that they "complement"... anyone knows of it's optimal to run two dropped sets? or is it really better to use a dropped and a crafted set? also... if you have a Monster Set recommendation I'll be thankful :)
