Frostivus modders need your help

Posted: 12 Nov 2017 12:28 AM PST

The Frostivus competition is coming to close in 7-8 days and testers are needed. A lot of the mods are PvP so in many cases it is impossible to bug test the mod properly if you don't have at least 4 players.

So how can you help? Join the user channel called "frostivus testing" in the game client. Over the next week modders will use the channel to find players. This gives you a chance to not only help improve the mods but get a chance to play them before everyone else.

One of the most underhyped buffs this patch is to Morphling's model.

He can now transform into the enemy model, allowing him to escape from his terrible soapysinkhole model right now.

Please remove the gpm and xpm from the profile

Posted: 11 Nov 2017 02:17 PM PST

I just had a game where my team throws the game because I have a low gpm and I picked a carry. My invoker pointed this out and I told them I mainly play support and wanted to take a break from supporting and my invoker responded that I shouldnt be playing carry role and stick to supporting if I wanted to win. I understand this but I honestly dont want to be stuck playing support forever. I like to playing all roles and dont want to be judge because of my gpm/xpm.

TL:DR Had a game where someone told me to stick to supporting and stop picking carry because they saw my profile stats.

Valve, what were you thinking giving whirling axes 2 different hotkeys?

Posted: 12 Nov 2017 06:08 AM PST

Seriously, I can't play troll since they changed whirling axes melee from the W to the E key.

It is 1 ability, they just differ depending on how you're attacking. You don't have a separate button to go melee, and a separate button to go ranged so why did they have to split whirling axes? Seriously, I nearly lost a game cause I kept miss-clicking on W when i initiated.

Valve pls give us the option to revert it as it was.

Interview with Vice President of Complexity - Beef about deal with Dallas Cowboys and future plans

Posted: 12 Nov 2017 05:53 AM PST

Interview with Kyle "Beef" Bautista from Complexity Gaming for GameInside.ua. Original link: HERE

Hello Kyle, thank you for giving me time. For starters, tell us about yourself, what are you doing and what position do you occupy in the organization for those who are not familiar with you in the CIS?

My name is Kyle, many in esports know me as Beef. I've been with Complexity Gaming for over 5 years now, and I am currently Vice President and General Manager. My job is to basically make sure that operations are going smoothly, to manage our division managers and coaches, and to interact with the awesome esports community!

Most recently it became known that the controlling package of Complexity Gaming was bought by Jerry Jones and judging by the posts you are very happy about it. Can you tell us about the negotiation process? Where did this idea come from? Who was the initiator?

Well, the entire process started about two years ago! It became apparent that most esports teams were going to need outside investment in order to remain competitive within the space. Finding that partnership became Jason Lake's primary focus within the company, and we had a huge number of discussions with various partners, looking for the one. Earlier this year Travis Goff, investor John Goff's son, was put in contact with us. He was a huge esports fan, mainly CS 1.6, in his earlier years, and seeing the boom, he wanted to invest in it. It also turned out that his family was very close with the Jones family, and ultimately Mr. Jones ended up coming in as an investor as well, making this about as an ideal partnership as we could hope for.

Jerry Jones is the famous owner of Dallas Cowboys. Can you clarify, you become the team's e-sports wing? Or are you a separate project? Will not you change the tag?

We are a seperate project owners by Mr. Jones and Mr. Goff. Mr. Jones most notably owns the Dallas Cowboys, and since we are in the same "family" of companies, there will be significant overlap in facilities and some personnel, but we will retain the name Complexity and our current branding.

As I understand it, the management of the organization remains unchanged, but it was said that you will change the direction of action. Can you tell us what this means, apart from the moving to the Dallas? New disciplines? More sport-ish approach?

Management isn't identical, as our long time co-owner and COO, Jason Bass is departing as a part of the acquisition. Jason has been an integral part of the company's success and a person mentor of mine, so we all wish him the best. As for our direction, we won't be changing much. Our core values of passion, professionalism, competition, and putting people first are still the same. We just hope to be able to do all the things we've always done on a much larger scale and to greater effect.

Dallas Cowboys is a professional sports team of large caliber. Will you have some kind of exchange of experience? If so, what would you like to adopt first?

Well, our new training facilities and offices will be in the same building as the Cowboys world headquarters, so that will be cool. We hope to have cross promotional efforts featuring Complexity members at Cowboys games, and featuring Cowboys players interacting with Complexity members in content pieces or live streams. Additionally, staff from Mr. Jones other enterprises will assist in areas such as business development, media training, branding, and medical support.

However, now you are preparing for the move. How is it going?

It is a lot of work to be honest! Myself and a few other senior managers are moving on December 1st, and that date just keeps getting closer and closer. The rest of the team will be arriving between Dec 15 and Jan 10th. We are having to do things like lock down corporate apartments for players/staff, temporary office space, new computers, employment paperwork, visas, all kinds of fun stuff. It's an incredible challenge, but we think it will all be worth it!

In general, if memory serves me correctly, complexity is the first who has concluded such a large-scale deal. What is it like to be a pioneer? How do you think this will affect the development of e-sports in your region and in general? Will it also be reflected in the pro-stage itself?

I wouldn't quite call us pioneers. There are quite a few other teams that have big deals with traditional sports backing, but we do happen to think this might be the largest scale of them. We sincerely hope to be able to shape the next generation of esports by doing things not only with success in mind, but by doing right by your players and staff at all times.

Recently it coming out that co-owner of Rangers fron Texas, done the same deal with Optic, as Jerry Jones with Complexity. Is it a some kind of mainstream to have an esports organisation? Or esports have just finished the test of time and now investors think that it's a good industry to invest?

I think maybe it is a bit fashionable for sports owners to be picking up esports teams right now, and most are of course highly competitive. But more importantly than that, they see the growth of esports and the potential for esports not just now but 5, 10, 20 years in the future. They're getting in by the dozens for what will likely be a hugely influential space for years to come.

How will your move affect the players? Will replenish the coaching staff? Work with a sports psychologist?

The players will be moving out of teamhouses and into individual apartments, playing from training facilities each day instead of rooms in a house, so we think seperation between home and work will be a big step toward success. Additionally we will be hiring on more support staff for each team, and hope to be working with some of the best training staff in the world from the Dallas Cowboys. Their training and conditioning personnel, mental coaching staff (including sports psychologists), and medical trainers are fantastic, and we hope to have their services available for our players!

About the results. Who have a control of roster, you or mr. Jones? I mean who will make a decision about changes in reshuffles? Are you forbidden to show some results on a distance or at once?

After the acqusition Complexity will be run at the highest levels by a board of directors that includes Mr. Lake. While Mr. Jones and Mr. Goff and the board have the ultimate say, they recognize that Jason Lake and our management team are the experts when it comes to esports. We will learn from them, and they from us, but our goals remain the same - achieve the most possible success while taking care of our personnel and furthering the interests of the esports community

Suggestion: Slardar Nightvison Talent

Posted: 11 Nov 2017 09:16 PM PST

Have him grow back the angler fish angler thing on his forehead and have it glow. It makes the talent make a little more sense thematically for the hero imo. I think that really all the heroes with weird talents that dont make any sense for why the hero gets it should have some corresponding change to their model to represent it. If anyone has any other ideas for other talents leave them below.

Mirana and Weavers mana break talent both deal the same damage with illusions (10), even though they're different values.

25 for mirana and 20 for weaver

I would've imagined they both dealt full damage, similar to anti-mages' break.

Can we have a discussion on the Dota 2 Update that is probably coming tomorrow?

Posted: 12 Nov 2017 06:26 AM PST

On 30 October Valve released The Dueling Fates update(http://www.dota2.com/duelingfates) where they announced Ranked Seasons(https://i.imgur.com/oc0xnk9.jpg) Coming in 2 weeks Valve Time TM

On the same day Wykrhm makes a tweet

The Battle Pass system is being reworked. More info on that will be available in the future. #Dota2 (https://twitter.com/wykrhm/status/925095749674713090)

A day later Cyborgmatt also makes a tweet also mentioning the removal of Battle Passes and mentions something new called Dota Prime (https://twitter.com/Cyborgmatt/status/925502236981190657) He gives more interesting details in this reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/79zqp4/possible_dota_prime_system/)

It seems like the new Dota Prime and the Ranked System are linked together since they are both Season based.

What do you think Dota Prime will bring to the game?
