Our annual DayZ ugly-christmas-sweater themed get together. Notice the huge Chernarus map on the wall in the background!

I love this game, but I'm anti social. Now what?

DayZ SA Early Access will turn 4 years old in December of 2017. Not 5, not 6, not 7, or 8.

It's a common misconception. People often conflate the DayZ Mod's development cycle, which arguably started sometime around 2010 and really peaked at 2012, when Dean Hall joined with Bohemia and the decision to create SA was made, but those are two entirely different projects, and should not be directly compared.

DayZ hit steam Early Access in December of 2013. It is about to complete its fourth year of development. Whether or not you think that's too long, blah blah blah, is a whole other conversation, but, it is important to be consistent and accurate either way.

Does anyone else experience this extremely game ruining glitch?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 05:06 PM PST

Sometimes when I drag an item from the vicinity into my inventory it snaps back to the vicinity and becomes invisible and I can't pick up the item. Or sometimes when rearranging items within my own inventory they snap back to where they were and there's nothing I can do. These inventory glitches completely ruin the game for me. For example, the reason for me finally deciding to post about it: I went to drag a canteen into my inventory but it would go right back to the floor and become invisible on the menu and I died of thirst later. This glitch happens often and really ruins the game for me and I was wondering if this is pretty normal for everybody or is it just me?

Also, does anyone want to play together? I've always played alone and it gets pretty lonely out in Chernarus after a while. my steam is tylerh530

Is it worth it?

I currently own the dayz mod and it's not as great as I remember it was, but I have never played the stand-alone. Would it be with it for me to buy it? Or just give up on my dream of playing Dayz.

I propose a wager between DayZ haters and supporters.

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 03:19 PM PST

This sub is often split between players who enjoy DayZ SA and haters who just lurk and hijack threads stating DayZ is finished and will never see release. I say put your money (opinion) where your mouth is; If DayZ never hits 1.0 I'll be happy to remove myself from this sub, however if it does hit 1.0 then any hater taking me up on the wager must likewise unsubscribe from this sub and not return under a different name/account. Put up or shut up.
