I've made 5 new practice mods for the new dust2

Posted: 23 Nov 2017 06:19 AM PST

TL:DR I've finished 5 of the practice mods I've been working on and added them onto the new dust2. Please check them out and tell me what you think!

Link to the map: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1202643420

Hey guys Yesber here. I've been working on some new mods for the competitive maps. The mods I've just published with DustNew are:

  • Prefire - an update of my old prefire maps, you move around and try to preaim angles where people usually peek. Also new setting "bot rush" where the bots rush at you with knives instead of shooting. 4 routes. Improves movement and crosshair placement.
  • Peek - new mod where you experience peeking angles from both the t and ct perspective. Bots can move and peek or stand static in a number of positions. 30 angles. Improves aim and map knowledge.
  • Smoke - new mod I've worked on a ton where your camera follows your nades like in spectator mode. Makes it much easier to find new throws and iterate on them over and over without having to noclip. I've added the 18 throws that I think is the most interesting.
  • Fire - new mod basically the same as the smoke mod but for molotovs. 18 throws mostly translated from the old dust2.
  • Flash - same but for flashes. 18 throws from the community and translated from the old dust2.

These mods uses the same system I built for my new bot aim map. It reuses a lot of the functionality like for example the bot spawning algorithm and the built-in database structure. The mods I'm planning on making next are:

  • Movement - like a race mod of sorts where you practice on getting around the map as fast as possible and practice tricky jumps like in my old "Shortcuts" maps.
  • Defense - like the bot rush mode on prefire but for defending sites instead. Bots move in in waves and you have to defend yourself.

I made these mods to lower the learning curve for people just picking up the game but I think they are very relevant for intermediate and more experienced players as well. When I'm done with all of them I'll start adding them to the rest of the map pool, starting with Mirage!

Please tell me if you have any idea or suggestion on how I could improve these mods or if you have a cool practice or warmup idea that you think I could add. I'll stick around the thread to answer any questions you might have.

GL HF and happy pracing :)

What if the new Elite Crew models are the dads of the previous Elite Crew models

Posted: 23 Nov 2017 02:52 PM PST

For example:

https://i.imgur.com/TLaUEOF.jpg

It is like when your dad helps you dress for a wedding, teaches you how to knot your tie etc, and you don't have the same clothes as him so you wear the vaguely close stuff you have to it and you end up kind of dressing like him and looking pretty nerdy, what if the new models are just trying to avenge their sons who are slain by the foreign (lsraeli) commandoes occupying their land.

In both matches against Space soldiers and Big, the Spanish mix team came back from 12-3 half to tie 15-15 with space soldiers, and beat Big 16-14. That was some incredible plays, especially Mixwell having a 34-14. Those were probably some of my favorite matches to watch.
