When will we get a proper map editor in Civ VI?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 11:30 AM PST

I'm tired of the hidden buggy version where you have to download extra programs to even play on the maps you make with it (and even then it still usually doesn't work right.) The game has been out for over a year now. Is an editor even being worked on, or has it just been given up on at this point? As far as I know there's been no word on it. Making massive, detailed custom maps for me and my friends to play on has always been one of my favorite parts of Civ. The inability to do this in VI is really disheartening. :(

So... is Civ VI good yet?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 06:58 PM PST

I haven't been following /r/civ for a while, still playing V. Is VI worth buying yet, or should I keep waiting for an expansion? (Do we think there will be one? Or are they abandoning VI like they did BE?)

Is there any way to increase the number of Natural Wonders per map?

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 01:35 PM PST

I think a lot of the natural wonders are really cool, and I wish I could see more per game (and have a greater chance of building cities around them). Is there any way I could increase the number that are generated? How many usually spawn per game?

A website says I need at least 1 GB & AMD 5570 or nVidia 450 but I only have 128 MB Dedicated Video RAM. I don't think I can upgrade my Asus UX330UA.

Steam Workshop Uploader crash

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 06:22 PM PST

I was having trouble using the Steam Workshop Uploader today. Whenever I tried to edit or update a mod, the uploader would crash while trying to display the branding image. I could edit mods without an image just fine, but of course that is not very helpful. It seems like the problem might be related to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709), as the problem went away after I rolled back to Windows version 1703. Has anyone else run into this problem, and if so, is there a better fix than downgrading Windows?

[Civ V] How do you win without just conquering everyone? (Story time.)

Posted: 18 Nov 2017 08:54 AM PST

tl;dr - I'm not good. What do?

The only Civ I've played before V was Revolution. I never had a problem with any different victories in that one, but apparently V is a little more complicated than that one.

I won my first game as Rome. Took over a City State and everyone hated me. Took out China, the Iroquois, and Egypt after they declared war. By then, i was just this giant superpower and ended up just throwing it all into science to win that way.

Next game, figured I'd try Polynesia. All those Moai would make for an easy culture win, right? Well, I think I'm doing okay up until about 1900 AD when America decides they want to take over my smallest city, which also happens to be maybe, 80% of my gold income. So Washington razes poor little Hilo to the ground and then makes peace with me, and is friendly again. I feel like that ruined my entire game.

So, whatever. Let's try Venice. That'll be cool, all that gold and whatnot. Just buy what I need, including City States. Well, I start on this little continent with Assyria and England. They're okay neighbors, but barbarians keep pillaging my trade routes left and right. Whenever I stomp one out, another pops up where I can't see. I feel like that's just wasting time and production I could be using on an army or buildings or something.

I don't really know how to start, I guess. How do you start when you plan on being a smaller empire instead of just taking over your neighbors?
