Civilization 6 Mac Khmer and Indonesia Update? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 06:59 PM PST So asked an earlier question about Khmer and Indonesia not appearing in the game even though Steam says its in my library. I've deduced that the problem is that Khmer and Indonesia are only available to Windows users not Mac users yet. When do Mac users get to play Khmer and Indonesia? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Nov 2017 06:54 PM PST So I'm trying 100% achievements on civ 5. But im struggling on immortal after completing emperor with ease a few times. Lend me your advice and favorite civs/settings to beat immortal on [link] [comments]

Who do you think will be getting more leaders? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 10:38 AM PST I think they picked Greece to get another leader first due to its rich and diverse history and bonus that doesn't really fit a certain playstyle. There are many civs that fit the same shoes like these: Russia: Mother Russia is a very cool bonus that can be used to assist both religious and science victories. The next leader could focus on the dominance of the Soviet Union and be more focused on science and production (with the USSR's exploits in space and powerful nuclear program. America: America has so many well known and great leaders to choose from, and thier bonus can be useful for any victory type. Just like Russia a leader like JFK could focus on America's progress in space travel and military prowess. Arabia: Arabia is such a broad term for a civ and represents so many different cultures. The last prophet is already a great bonus and it would be great to see what ways firaxis could take a guaranteed religion. Maybe domination focused? Egypt: One thing I find interesting about Egypt is the faith from their UI. I'd love to see where a religious Egypt could be taken, with a focus on religious wonders possibly. China: China is already pretty set up for a culture victory with the Great Wall, but they need a leader who is better at science, because thier ability effects Eurekas too, and not just inspirations. England: Victoria's ability has great synergy with England's need to collect artifacts around the world. Maybe another leader can take this bonus elsewhere? [link] [comments]
A few changes to Civ that have to happen Posted: 11 Nov 2017 07:30 PM PST Mountains: Mountains should not be completely impassable. This makes absolutely no sense, generally, and even less sense in VI, specifically. Negative sense. There have always been things like mountain passes throughout most of human history. Plenty of civilizations, (not just the Incas) have built entire settlements in mountain ranges. The reason it makes less sense for VI, specifically is because of how sieges work. Any tile around a city that is occupied by impassable terrain is counted as being sieged. This makes absolutely no sense because it's actually easier to take a city adjacent to a mountain (granted, the difficulty rises with each mountain tile. A city surrounded by mountains on all but 1 side would be nearly impossible to take). In real life, it would be enormously difficult to do that. How would I change it: Mountains passibility is elastic. Moving onto mountains requires 3 movement points. Any combat or religious units that end their turn on mountains take attrition damage. Traders can move onto mountain tiles, and build roads as they do. Siege units cannot move onto mountain tiles (including siege towers and battering rams). Scouts can move onto mountains without taking attrition damage (or they gain a new promotion that can prevent it). Military engineers can move onto mountains, but lose all their movement points when they do. They can also build roads and forts on mountains. Combat and religious units moving onto mountain tiles with forts take no attrition damage. Polearms: Throughout most of human history, polearms have been the backbone of militaries. In Civ games, they're more specialized anti-cavalry units. In fact, in VI I almost never build spearman, and I never even research the tech for pikemen unless I really want Huey or I'm playing Greece. How I would change it: Warriors should upgrade to spearmen, and swordsmen should only deal more damage under certain circumstances, like if they're flanking the target or they deal bonus damage to damaged units, or they deal extra damage if they're adjacent to a spearman or pikeman EDIT: I would also have it that a mountain tile counts as 2 moves for a trader. Posted: 11 Nov 2017 10:41 AM PST If so, which civ is the best generalist civ that can essentially benefit from any victory path? I have all the DLCs except the newest one. I generally play a Domination game as it's the most actively involved but have never achieved any other victory. I simply don't know how to min/max a game for science, religion, etc. so I'd like to take those decisions out of my hand. [link] [comments]
My friends and I want to play a game blind and we want to know what game speed we should play on? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 01:09 AM PST So we have 3 or 4 people who want to play Civ 6 without knowing any of the mechanics. However we work every day of the week. When one has a day off, another doesn't. I have scheduled a day off on one of my busiest days, which basically gives 16 hours. So I was wondering, what game speed should we play on, if we need to be finished in 16 hours? I was thinking Epic, or would that be too long or something? [link] [comments]
Mod for Civ VI with country citystate names? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 02:52 PM PST I know this sounds a little silly, and I wasn't able to see a similar post BUT are there any mods that change the name of citystates to their equivalent country? Example: Argentina instead of Buenos Aires, Korea instead of Seoul, Lithuania instead of Vilnius I know this goes against the spirit of the city-state system, but it would mean a lot to my immersion if I could find that app. [link] [comments]
Indonesia and Khmer not in steam library? Posted: 11 Nov 2017 06:12 PM PST So I haven't played civ 6 in a while and decide to check the news and get back on to see if any new civs were introduced. To my surprise the khmer and Indonesia were now in the game. It says its in the library (I have the civ equivalent of the season pass) I check it out in steam and game and its not in the game. How do I make sure these new civs get installed? [link] [comments]
Running into issues on Mac after Fall Update Posted: 11 Nov 2017 03:53 AM PST Hey guys, haven't seen this problem posted anywhere yet so here goes. Playing on Mac and it has happened in every game I've played since the Fall Update. By turn 20, the UI just disappears from the game. The map, cities, units are all visible but there are no buttons to press. No next turn, I can't even press the units to pull up their info. The UI is just gone. I have to press escape to get out of the game. I've turned off all mods/dlc and still had this problem. Any help is appreciated, it's very frustrating. [link] [comments] |
